Because I need suggestions for my 5th loadout slot, and because I need something to read in this forum other than complaint threads. Share and compare!
Here’s mine:
Rifleman - Standard Slayer/DMR duel build focusing on speed and maneuverability.
Ranger - BTB build focusing on long range travel and vehicle destruction.
DMR
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Grenade
Jet Pack
Mobility
Ammo Specialist - Survivability build for holding objectives, such as KotH hills and Dominion bases.
Gonna be honest, your loadouts really inspired me. But there is an obvious thing you are missing. CQC. You need something with an assault rifle, supressor, or storm rifle. For secondary, I suggest magnum, than the rest what ever.
Dexterity, Resupply and Automatics go together really well. It lets you reload and continue to keep peppering enemies, and the grenades are useful for CQC. Dexterity also lets you pull out your side arm faster for when enemies attack you outside your range.
Precision weapons and Ammo/Ordnance Priority for long lasting fights at long range.
Jet Pack for pretty much every loadout, that mobility is crucial.
mlp256/Zekester99/IXAxiosXI: It’s not that I’m a DMR fan per se, it’s just that it’s the most effective weapon, at least until 343i does some balancing. I’ve tried doing CQC builds with the AR (Supressor seems to have more bullet spread than the other automatics IMO), but I always seem to get hamstrung whenever I’m dealing with an opponent at any kind of range. I had this CQC build for a while, but it didn’t seem effective:
Battle Rifle (for a little long range counter)
Boltshot (pocket shotgun)
Plasma Grenade (sticks possible at close range)
Promethean Vision (see when someone’s coming around a corner)
Resupply (sticky ammo)
Explosives ('nade defense)
Guess I’ll revisit an AR build if you guys are having luck with it. Pairing Dexterity with automatics like Ramir3z77 mentioned sounds solid…

The thing about CQC builds is you really have to be knowledgeable on the max range of your weapons coupled with what spots on the map you can abuse.
The Assault Rifle has the best effective range of the automatics, basically 3 warthog lengths out. However, it does the least damage.
The Storm Rifle does the 2nd most damage at close range, the best being the suppressor. It has slightly inferior accuracy to the AR.
The Suppressor does amazing damage at point blank, but besides that it sucks due to its immense bullet spread. Since most maps aren’t designed around that close of a range it’s usually better to pick the Storm Rifle over it.
The Pistol is a good long range weapon for self defense. You won’t be getting multikills with it, but if you pace your shots and catch enemies off guard you can usually deal with them before they deal with you. Aim assist is minimal though, you really have to be a good shot.
If you don’t feel comfortable with it I’d suggest using firepower and choosing the DMR as a secondary.
I rarely use anything other than my first loadout, since I’ve found I’m the most efficient with it.
EDIT: Guess I should supply some reasoning.
Battle Rifle
A lot better than the forum makes it out to be. Magnum
Good for encounters where I run low on ammo and need to clean up the kill quickly. Usually swap this out for a power weapon/DMR/AR.
Frag Grenade
I like to bounce grenades around corners. I usually end up with plenty of all types of grenades do to Resupply.
Promethean Vision
I use it mainly to get an assessment of how many enemies are in an area (bases, tight spaces, objectives, etc). I also like to use it to make sure I land my first shot.
Resupply
Pickin’ up 'nades. It’s always nice to have a grenade when you need it. Explosives
My grenades (That I have plenty of) do more damage and I take significantly less damage. Goes well with Resupply.
