The positives of ordnance drops.

A lot of people are saying that these are turning Halo into CoD but I can think of several ways that Halo can make it into its own and make it super fun to play.

I thought of a new VIP gametype where there is one person on each team designated to be the VIP, the VIP is the only person who can call in ordnance but every kill/assist/point that the team earns as a whole goes to the VIP. Once the VIP’s bar is full they can call in vehicles/powerweapons(groups of power weapons even)/etc. If a team kills the others VIP then they fill the bar of their VIP like halfway, and the team that lost their VIP gets a new VIP but the bar is reset.

If Halo has proven one thing it is that it has a large community of VERY creative forgers and they could make up all sorts of new maps and gametypes based on ordnance drops. It practically adds a whole new layer of gameplay to multiplayer. Also if you don’t like Infinity slayer there is always “Classic” with no drops, perks, or AA’s.

Yeah sure I agree. Lemme go read it first though before I totally agree.

Sorry if the explanation was a little incomprehensible.

No I was just too lazy to read your post. I’m just boosting. My post count.

However they handle ordnance drops, I just hope you can customize it, or else it could feel like Reach’s half–Yoinked!- loadouts.

the best part about ordinance drops is that you never having to leave your team’s corner of the map anymore. theres no way anyone can break your setup when you’re bunkered down with wallhacks/radar safely revealing everything and have someone spawning rockets/os on you every couple of kills.

its so much better then it used to be where if you sat around twiddling your thumbs you lost the game.

On the note of having a community full of creative people, I can’t wait to see what kind of tools we have to work with in Halo 4’s forging system. Your idea also sounds cool. Part of me misses VIP

There’s no need for sarcasm, yes it probably won’t be perfect, nothing ever is. But it can be really fun in certain matches. The VIP gametype I said kind of balances itself out because it goes both ways. Either both teams can bunker down on either side of the map, or they can go after each other forcing VIPs and defenders to move to different areas if they want to avoid losing their VIP, and/or get kills in the process to boost their team’s meter up.

Back in Halo 2/Halo 3 days if you had told me we would see the racing and infection maps we have now in Reach, along with Achievement HORSE and the fun gametypes like Speed and Crash-Up Derby, I might’ve called you insane. When we keep adding more and more to forge the barriers on what the community can come up with extend further and further until it eventually reaches the point where they are non-existent.

I think Ordinance sounds and look like it’ll be an awesome addition to the Halo games.

And all the people bashing it simply because it’s “like CoD” can… eh, shouldn’t go there.
