The population isn't dropping for any other reason than this game isn't fun because of a major lack of content and no real progression

People have been conditioned to be ok with less

The truth is: people are leaving for different reasons. Some don’t want to play against players of similar skill and will blame SBMM. Some are turned off by the store. Some miss PvE modes like Firefight. Some would at least like to play BTB. Having finished the Battlepass and not having any further record of progression is another. I’m sure I missed something. And for most it likely will be a combination of things.

As for me: I did LASO, completed the Battle Pass, got almost all the Achievements and the one thing I’d currently be interested in would be BTB. So yeah, I guess I’ll find something else to play until fixes arrive.

Besides not participating in the store, I am not sure what can be done. It’s predatory practice in the gaming industry. Laws and legislation cannot fix it, nor would I want the government(s) to step in.

There will always be a minority group of people out spending the majority of people, keeping the store alive.

Wow tokens and mounts are a perfect example… the player population is at a record low, yet they are more profitable than ever.

You see, that’s the funny part about whales. As long as the items are plentiful and there are things to be had, they’ll buy them.

Halo can have good monetization practices and the whales will still pay up every penny. They aren’t attracted to high prices, they’re attracted to things they can have to complete their collections and assortments.
