I’m disappointed by some playlists who propose many games aleatory. I find that some games are not alike. I don’t like to ignore what game I will find when I select a playlist, when I haven’t much time to play, I want to select the game I want. Sometimes, I would prefer a rotating system which alternates games over a period.
In Warzone, each playlist have only one game mode. The Warzone Assault and Warzone turbo appear in a rotative system.
Infection : I love contingency, but it appear rarely. I would prefer special weekends where Infection become Infection Contengency
Elemination : Breakout and Extermination are too different, I would prefer a rotative system where they alternate every weeks
“Big team battle” and “Team Arena” : I don’t understand why slayers and objectives games are mixed. They are two totally different things, objectives games deserve their own playlist. They do it for Halo MCC and it work.
I don’t play to every playlist so I don’t know if there is other like that. What do you think.
It works for MCC because they applied the match composer. If they were to add something like that to Halo 5, it may work out, but they won’t revisit the game to add anything.
Breaking out individual gametypes into their own playlists without something like MCC has will kill off all of the playlists when you have such a small population.
I think a match composer for H5 could actually work quite well - why not?
Especially for social.
It’s not going to happen any time soon, because no one is really available to do that kind of work right now - but maybe after MCC Season 10, and Infinite is released - there might be a few people available to do some sustain work on H5.

Yes, the match composer could be great, but even without getting to that, they could modify some playlist for a better result

Earlier on maybe, but nowadays the population is so low that splitting them any further could make finding matches impossible in an exclusive playlist. I am already waiting 5-15 minutes between matches I could not tolerate double that to 30 minutes to get a match.

8v8 is not the best example because of the population an wainting problem
However, in 4v4, there is “Slayer” and “Team Arena” (there is also quick play in social)
Slayer : only slayer mode
Team Arena : slayer mode and objectives mode
Is it so complicate to turn Team Arena in only objectives mode ? Like that, we would have a playlist with only objectives mode :

Team arena uses HCS rules, which does include slayer but is very different than the slayer playlist. An objective only social playlist would be nice but the population can’t sustain it.

So how many 4v4 slayer/objectives do we have finally ? It’s no sense !
All of that is very complicated and I think it’s one of the reason people don’t like Halo 5. Maybe if they make a system more simple with real playslists different of the others, that could work

I get what you’re saying —. I’m sure they’ll do something similar with Infinite and the large population will give them a ton of flexibility. For Halo 5…the HCS playlist was baked into Team arena after the population faded so people have a place to play the HCS game lineup / settings.
Unfortunately, putting any more stress on the gametypes is only going to make it that much harder to find a match. 343 has shown nothing but disdain and loathing for this game recently, and nothing but love for the much older MCC. While they should have been updating this game and making fixes, they left it to rot on the side of the road. I too would absolutely love to see real, honest search parameters come to Halo 5… limit game types, how challenging you want the match (ultra competitive vs. not)… and the like… but alas… what we have today is what we’re stuck with. I agree, some of the game groupings just don’t make sense… but it’s not going to get any better… it’s only going to get worse as people leave for MCC and eventually Infinite.
