Infection based game types have been a huge part of the Halo universe for a long time now, and there are some amazing additions 343i has implemented into Halo 4 Flood and I’ll list those now!
-The unique new look to the “Flood” infected players.
-Instead of the classic energy sword, we now have a demented looking claw!
-The visuals while playing as the flood (Yellowed/stained HUD).
-The noises the flood make now can scare the manliest of spartans out of there boots.
-All humans are now a bright yellow color so you can easily tell the difference in the infected and a teammate.
Now I’m going to start listing some bugs that need fixed and some just general changes some people, like myself, would love to see changed.
First I’m not sure how many threads have pointed this out, but sometimes when I get a JIP match, or others join my match, we can join as spartans and we will be red instead of yellow, and you can spawn with either a DMR or and AR, not only that but everything is an enemy and you get points for killing anyone!
For example, I’m actually ranked #15 in the world for DMR kills in the flood playlist having a total of 10 kills. (This might be a rare bug but I’d still like to point it out.)
Next is a slight complaint, more or less I’m just asking… Why?
In Halo 3 and Reach you would be excited if you were a human, and most of the time people would win the game with 20-30 kills. I liked Reach infection but yeah the humans seemed a little hard to kill, but wheres the fun in an easy kill?
In Flood however if feels like the winner has now more then 15 kills if that, because the flood are just so hard to kill at times. It feels like the fact that the flood can launch over half the map with its special tuned thruster pack plus their ability to lunge seemly 20 some meters away makes them pretty hard to kill!
But maybe me and a few others are just whine-bags, but I actually miss being a human and feeling like I’m having a stand off with a horde of infected, instead of crouching around the map trying to use prom vision and invis to hide from these OP beasts called the flood.
Another reason that the flood should be THAT OP is the desperation of some people to glitch off the map or find an unreachable spot and increased a lot IMO.
But think, back in Reach regular infection it was much more challenging to kill an evading zombie then a sprinting one in Alpha Zombies, so maybe the Flood doesn’t really need nerfed maybe we just need another game-type in the mix where the flood don’t have AAs? And one last thing, I honestly find it kind of hard to spot invis spartans with the new Flood HUD, but thats just another personal complaint.
Maybe I’m wrong to say I’d rather be excited over being alive then being Flood.
Feel free to post your opinions on this matter, maybe I’m crazy, maybe not.
March on, Spartans!
