Its not CE’s plasma pistol, its halo 2’s plasma pistol in CE. fast firing only works if your clicking at a specific frequency otherwise its just wasted presses, just like in halo 2. Or the charge shot fires! Im not going to complain about that version of the plasma pistol in halo 2 even if i hate it but i will when i was expecting to play halo:CE not 343’s idea of Halo:CE. No, i dont think or can see how this was a mistake as this is the difference between an enjoyable legendary play-through and a ridiculous and frustrating one, like halo 2’s. I don’t expect a fix, if they cared they would have noticed, just wanted to see who else will be looking to fix the game with mods.
