So it’s really weird and maybe I’m the only one who didn’t realize it, but not only does the plasma pistol have a slight headshot damage bonus when an enemy has no shields, but an overcharged bolt will actually get a headshot kill, complete with the accuracy rating and all related medals.
It was a total accident that I discovered this, and I just thought I’d share in case someone else didn’t know.
This game has a lot of nuance that people don’t seem to talk about much.

Are you trying to tell me right now, the plasma pistol can kill in one shot? This makes the weapon much more viable, as you could get some really cheeky closer range kills with it.
I realised there was a headshot bonus when I couldn’t 3* the first level of weapon trials no matter how hard I tried. Once I realised it had headshot bonus after an embarrassing number of tries, I was kicking myself and got 3* first time.
