What could they mean by this?

What could they mean by this?
That they believe in their Gods.
Forerunner map maybe?
A monitor perhaps?
> That they believe in their gods
Fixed.
There is only one God.
The Thursday War probably
Read Thursday War. It explains it, I think.

Is it really worth risking a flame war over a mis-capitalized letter?
Obviously the Storm found some sort of map to Requiem. Jul, seeing as his forces still believe in the religion of San’Shyuum, had to make himself sound like a religious Zealot.

Pff I’m not creating a flame war. And yes, yes it is!
It’s more than just a mis-capitalized letter.
But move on, you’re just trying to start something. There is no evidence in my statement that should make you think I’m trying to start a flame war. So move on.

whether or not there is more than one god is irrelevant. The fact is gods and goddesses are not capitalized because that’s proper use of grammar.
> There is no evidence in my statement that should make you think I’m trying to start a flame war. So move on.
Actually there is. Notice my highlight? This is a forum for video games, don’t try to push your belief as fact. If you misintrepeted how we could have mistaken your post. I suggest you change your wording a bit. For the way you written you suggest there is only one God. Perhaps write it like ‘singular= God, plural= gods’

He wasn’t referring to the “God” you’re thinking of. It is proper and respectful to capitalize “God” when you are talking about a singular “God”. When you speak of “gods”, you use lowercase, as a representation that there isn’t an ultimate. However, for Greek culture, when referring to “Zeus” as a “God”, you capitalize, because he is seen as the ultimate.
No flame war necessary or probable. Just info/fact.
Now can we get back to the topic? This is becoming a derailed thread.

That isn’t evidence that he was purposely trying to cause a problem. He was just making a statement, and he was grammatically and respectfully correct. Side-topic closed.

Agreeable. Side-topic solved.
Jul was referring to something from The Thursday War, which is found towards the end of the book. If you’d like to spoil it for yourself, find a thread in the “Halo Universe” Forum. However, I’d recommend not posting anything in here, even marked with a spoiler tag.

No
Okay let’s get back on topic.
I can explain, but don’t read this if you’re not done with The Thursday War.
Jul, along with two monks, uncovers Requiem’s coordinates on a Forerunner ruin (essentially).

During my initial reading I misconstrued the meaning. But his arrogantly put defensive statements keep me to believe he meant what I believe. Because it could have been worded differently. But whatever.
But as you’ve said about Jul. He obviously knows that the planet is Requiem from his source, I havent read the entire book but in bits in pieces.
something around the lines that they are warned that the Didact is there, and he should never be woken.

Dude, if this had anything to do with real life, then it would be more appropriate for you to say that there is only one God. However, this is about fiction, about the Halo universe, thus “gods” or “Gods” is an appropriate term, referring to the Forerunners.
“Your destruction is the will of the gods, and I, I am their instrument!” - Prophet of Truth, Halo3.
And if it is wrong to capitalize “g” well I am simply used to capitalizing “God” so I did not know, but I really do not see such a big deal about it. You do not truly know who or what God is, nor do I, or anyone. So saying that there is only one God like if it is pure truth, the way you did, does not mean anything. There are places in this world where people believe in different Gods, or have a different perception then Americans on the term “one God”.
Also I really do not see a point in making this thread. The covenant have a religion based on the Forerunners, so what does it mean that Requiem is where it was promised to be? Answer: That they are following their religious beliefs. Notice how the ship master corrected the lower ranked Elite saying “No…it is where the Forerunners promised us it would be” They are and will interpret anything to make it based on their religion. Like they did with the Halos, yet they got it all wrong, why? Because their religion was and is false.
Somehow the Elites have Requiem specific location details and have finally arrived. So this faction of Elites have spoken with the Forerunners or learnt of this location from some artefact/map etc.
That’s what I take from the comments in the terminal.
Requiem is where the Forerunners said it would be, coordinates recovered by Jul 'Mdama said so. However nobody is supposed to be there.

Watch the terminals from Halo CE Anniversary.
