It’s not BR’s. It’s not sprint. You guys need to stop. Yes there was a population drop, but only because there wasn’t a sudden rush to play Halo 5, the players who aren’t grinding as hard as in the first week either got bored of the game or realised there was 2 more weeks left and they didn’t have to binge as much on it. Br’s really didn’t change gameplay as much as you guys think it did, my games seem to flow better without every player having to go for a precision weapon off spawn instead of being right in the action. BR’s don’t promote camping, sure you could sit back with one, but that never really happens at all, and anyone who’s targeting BR starts for ‘ruining Halo’ really needs to just needs to realise that BR slayer plays somewhat differently to AR starts and just get over it to be blunt.
Sprint. I don’t see what the complaint is here, I mean sure your older Halo’s didn’t have it and personally I don’t think Halo needs it but to be fair, it doesn’t affect the game to much, you guys just think too much of it.
These 2 issues wont be what ruins Halo 5, so stop over thinking them and start worrying about stupid unwanted extras that will suffocate Halo like the smarts scope, killcams etc, BR starts and sprint aren’t getting removed but the extra annoying features might, so target them in your topics.
This was a very short and vague post, but all I’m seeing in these forums is just everyone repeating each other on 2 core aspects to the game. Thoughts?

I’m good with everything. I Don’t care about smartscope being there or not since all it does is zoom in. Doesn’t even increase accuracy or decrease movement speed. Why do people hate it?
> Sprint. I don’t see what the complaint is here, I mean sure your older Halo’s didn’t have it and personally I don’t think Halo needs it but to be fair, it doesn’t affect the game to much, you guys just think too much of it.
It really does though.
It is the single biggest thing ruining this game for me. I can definitely tolerate all the other stuff like slide and groundpound (hell, the other stuff isn’t really used all that frequently anyways), but sprint fundamentally changes the map design and flow of the game.
Name a single map even remotely similar to Prisoner since Halo Reach.
> Doesn’t even increase accuracy or decrease movement speed. Why do people hate it?
Something tells me you haven’t played the beta or have been out of the loop for awhile.
Smart Scope significantly increases automatic accuracy.
The difference between firing an AR scoped and firing it from the hip are night and day.
You can even basically aim the sword and launch several feet with it.
I don’t actually hate it, but it changes a lot about the game.
For the most part I love the beta. I stopped playing after hitting Semi Pro in Slayer because that was my goal. When the game comes out I’ll be on religiously if it’s an improved version of what the beta was.
I’m a SWAT player more than anything else these days it seems. If there was SWAT in the H5 beta then I’d be on all day (but for obvious reasons they shouldn’t put SWAT in the beta). So I’m back to H2A.
Bad comment on my part, below me are some good ones.

Could you show me a link where it says that? I felt like accuracy was the same both in and out of it, I do remember the headshot multiplier problem with them, and I don’t know if that was changed or not. I thought it was an o.k addition, but if that’s the problem then could they drop the AR to static damage like H3?

[Video evidence of spread reduction (skip to like 1:30).
](- YouTube)I don’t currently have any videos on the sword, but you can see for yourself.
If the video somehow isn’t enough I have articles were Josh Holmes says the same thing.
Problems with sprint in a simplified format and list:
-
It stretches maps
-
It creates games of cat and mouse
-
It causes you to lower you’re weapon
-
It slows down the game by making it so everyone travels at two different speeds, just like how traffic on a freeway is caused
-
With all these cons, it wastes a button

I miss the days where I could conveniently switch grenade type during a fight instead of having to stop moving and push the D-pad…

Thank you very much! As an avid ar user (h8 me) that’s really interesting.
I don’t like that actually. I think it should just be a zoom.

I guess you’re right, but Reach had maps like Sanctuary from Halo 2, well it did have sanc in MLG but Asylum was in slayer, and sprint didn’t ruin that map, jet pack did. I think it’s the infinite sprint mixed with mobility perks such as thruster and also clamber, so all you need to do to get to a previously inaccessible spot say getting from base to top mid on midship in Halo 3 and then look at Truth in Halo 5 and this manoeuvre is quite easy if you just pair thruster with clamber, so I do really think that these ‘minor’ abilities are part of the problem.
Sanctuary is a forged map in Reach, and in the MLG playlist there is no sprint.
Maybe you’re thinking of Reflection, which is an Ivory Tower remake, but just like Pitfall in Halo 4 it was already a fairly big map to begin with.
Thruster does have problems of its own, but unlike sprint I consider it salvageable.

Asylum was a forge map that launched with halo reach before there ever was an MLG playlist, and that was essentially sanctuary. just a fact check
Sanctuary was in Halo 2, and asylum is almost identical.
BR starts really did cause a bore and resulted in many people dropping the beta. No doubt about it.
The maps are in fact too large because they have sprint in mind.
The gameplay esp with BRs is slow

I think anyone who’s played Reach knows that already

Why did BR starts cause a bore? Because the game wasn’t a huge “clusterluck” of grenades and melee and it actually required players to think instead of rushing constantly?
The maps are almost identical to previous Halo maps, may I remind you that Truth is a remake of H2 and H3 midship. Map design is fine.
Br’s speed gameplay up because the engagement range is increased too.
Apparently, you don’t even know what you’re talking about. I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible, so here’s some of sprint’s issues:
- Allows players to escape- Negatively affects map design- Forces players to lower their weapon- Affects the spawn system- Significantly decreases the base movement speed- Affects the predictability of players’ actionsI’d like to see you counter that.
