The Pit is back, renamed Pitfall, and I will be voting for it every game.

Little negative and silly since there are only two remakes while Bungie had a lot of remakes throughout their entire series of Halo games.
Also worth noting: The map will have a NS variant in matchmaking so don’t worry about covering the whole map in 3 seconds

Considering how many people clamor for the days of Halo 2/3 style multiplayer, I’d say that’s what people seem to want.

No, if the demand was high why not do it? Bungie had plenty of remakes
I really hope they have a variant where you can use the outside

What is bloodgulch

Bad.
The Pit is going to play so awful with Sprint and no descope and Camo off spawn. The only gametype that played remotely well on it was Flag, and we all know how good Halo 4 Flag is…
Kinda sad to see my favorite map all deserted and destroyed, but should play good hopefully.

Wasn’t The Pit already an abandoned training centre? Thus Pitfall is even more abandoned.
The Pit is coming to Halo 4???

Along with ODST and Mark IV armor.

I agree…I was expecting more remake maps, from prev. titles. Personally, i was expecting 3 or 4 maps from each prev. title (basically player favorite maps). Hopefully there is another DLC next year. Halo 4 could really use more remakes (non-forge made), if you know what i mean.

Guess everyone favorite armor finally makes its appearance, lol.

The Pit was abandoned, yes. Tons of missing glass panes in the ceiling, and a bit of vegetation sinking into the upper reaches, out-of-bounds but inside the building. Despite this, the pop-up targets and computer monitors in the map were still functional, and the Pelicans on the outside were all intact. But there was an overarching theme of abandonment.
Pitfall looks to have the same aesthetic, but turned up to eleven. The textures and surfaces are all more detailed, the vegetation is creeping further into the building, and the Pelicans are all wrecked, as abandonment progresses into outright dilapidation.
Whether or not the gameplay will fare well with sprint remains to be seen, but the earlier post about a no-sprint variant intrigues me. Unless it’s an entirely-separate base map, or most of the map is designed as modular (if developer-only) Forge pieces that can be rearranged in map variants, I’m not sure how that would work… But both of those are technically possible.
In any case, I’m super excited for this and the other announcements.
