This is just my assumption but i think it would be neat if the pelican the pilot uses function like the aerial command center from mgsv, but that just my two cents
Doesn’t sound too bad. I like the pilot already though. He seems Down to Earth and considering he has a partner and child, seemingly doesn’t have an overly edgy background like most Halo characters have like being a war orphan, kidnapped or got caught up in government related drama…at least I hope not.
I’m kind of hoping he plays a similar role to Echo 419, taking you to and from missions around Halo, possibly being the one to give exposition as to what you’re actually trying to accomplish with each deployment, I like what little we’ve seen of him so far.

Echo 420. Thrusters set to ‘BLAZE’.
I’m with you OP (and everyone else on this thread).
I’d also like to add, with the possibility that the game is open world, that he functions as a sort of fast travel system? Like there’s an option in the map screen to radio for a pickup and he’ll come and grab you, then drop you off wherever you want.
Slightly off topic, but I had thought a while back in relation to this idea that you can’t just fast travel wherever, and must find LZs on the map that’ll act as fast travel points, and if you radio for pickup outside of an LZ Brohammer could say something like “my birds a little tight for that chief” or “LZ is too hot chief!”
I’d also had the idea that he could drop in marines or ordinance to help you out on command (operating on a cool down, and only in LZs) but that’s another topic for another day!
Gotta say though, hats off to the writing team, we’ve only had a tiny glimpse of this character, have no idea what his name or backstory is, and we already find him so more relatable than Osiris, who each had their own bit of spin off media about them prior to release.
I really hope the pilot as a character can supply some comic relief (despite his sad backstory). Really I hope anybody can play that role well in Infinite. It’s been sorely missed since Johnson’s death in Halo 3.
