The Phantoms on Truth are trains by the way.

When the Phantoms on Truth fly by the window, they sound like train horns.

I live right next to a railroad and trains come by every single day, so I know.

Just thought I would let you guys know.

The better questions is why did they change the design of the covie cruisers? And what the hell was that space whale doing there?

I know, they look ridiculous. Someone glitched his camera out of the map to get a closer look and they look even worse up close.

Here’s a link if anyone’s interested.

Of course they will look bad up close. They weren’t meant to be looked at with a microscope while you’re glitched out of the map.

Every single art choice in this game is utter -Yoink-. Halo 2 A looked fantastic, why can’t Halo 5 look like that? Everything just looks weird. Please take inspiration from Halo 3 for art design 343. That game still looks fantastic.

You’re aware that that’s an entirely new class of cruisers, right?

They didn’t change the design of Cruisers.

If that is the new cruiser I will cry, something was so awesome about seeing the old ones fly across the sky ominously before glassing a planet.

Given that it is just a background for a map, it seems a bit early to judge it.

Quite frankly I am tired of both CCS and Assault Carriers. I certainly would prefer a new design like this rather than extra large Assault carrier(Reach Super carrier) or miniature CCS(Halo 4).

If it’s supposed to be the Fleet of Particular Justice, then they most definitely did change the cruiser designs.

The fleet looks like this:

343i’s interpretation is this:

What's sad is that they're going directly against what they (and Certain Affinity) just established with H2A's fleet, where all the covenant ships actually looked more consistent with the other games. Although if they're allowed to change something as big as the FUD's design from Halo 3 to 4, I guess they can do what they want and just make an excuse like "you didn't see those ships before, but don't worry, they were always there!" :/

There can me more than one type of ship in a fleet, who’s to say they didn’t have those sort of cruisers at the time?

If they were there, they must have had some sort of active camo on, because in Reach, CE, and 2, (the games where the fleet would have made an appearance), they were never seen anywhere. It’s just 343i taking further artistic liberty with Halo, like they did with the H5 rocket launcher…

Yeah I’m going with what this person said. Probably a new class out of the dockyards or something they’ve always had but we never saw like the Covenant SDV class Corvettes in Reach.

Catalog has said that they’re contemporary models uploaded into the War Games suite. They weren’t there at 04 at the time, but are new types of ship.

They didnt? Because the ships in background (found in the video) look different than the traditional ships from prior games. The larger differences being how more emphasised the back engines are. The older ships are flatter. Even close up on the Phantoms look different. I’m not saying it’s impossible that they are different models of ships, hell, the ‘new’ ships may be part of the new Covenant fleet (the splinter that’s out for Mdama’s head) but why use new designs for a map that’s based on the events of Halo CE? ot enough resources? Cant justify creating whole new models/copy-pasting Halo 4 models? I have no idea, but they do look different than the prior cruisers.

(the smaller ones could be Corvette’s, but they dont look like Reach’s corvettes)

I personally think it’s more of 343i’s aesthetic changes rather than plot changes. I.E. Forward Unto Dawn.

How… refreshing. More inconsistencies from 343’s art team. They DO realize it’s not just a design, right?

Like, do they acknowledge how much these drastic design changes screw with the canon, in a universe where everything is carefully organized by model name and year? Changing things based on how they want them to look, does not bode well in the long run. Especially with such an established franchise…

So, if I remenber correctly, Truth is set on a covenant ship that is in space, and through the Windows you ser space, some ships and flying phantoms. Now, if the phantoms do sound like train horns egen flying by, wouldn’t a suitable question be:

How can we hade the phantoms in space? Or are we so close to a planet that there’s a medium through which sound can travel? Nerdy, I know.

If I know this correctly.

This is a War Games Simulation.
Yes, A War Games Simulation.
In a War Games Simulation, they can change anything because it’s a -Yoink!- Simulation meant for battle to feel how it was like before. The UNSC can’t pin point exactly how the Fleet Of Particulor justice looked in the 1st place, so they guessed, and this is what the UNSC came up with and placed it in this War Games Simulation. Please, I hope you understand this.

Or it is a War Games simulation with post-war cruiser models in the background that are more familiar to the Spartan-IVs in training. The simulation doesn’t override what actually happened. I care about the canon too, but this is just reaching. Dislike the design choices by all means, but don’t say it violates the canon just to make the point sound better when it does not.
