The perfect ranking system (IMO)

I think that the ranking system from Halo 4 should take the best of the ranking systems from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach and combine them. First off, there would be a 1-50 ranking as in Halo 3. There would also be a return of ranked playlists in matchmaking. In addition to this there would also be a 1-50 ranking for Firefight. Credits would be used to buy armor and could be earned in matchmaking, firefight, forge, and custom games. However the credits would not contribute to your rank at all, giving payers some incentive to win games. To add to the incentive to win games there would be a significant credit bonus if you won the game, and a jackpot that you were more likely to get the more games you won in a row. To please more casual gamers, a large selection of the armor would not have to be unlocked by rank and would be unlocked by various achievements. There would be some special armor available to people who get to high ranks to give them an incentive to rank up. This is all I have for now, I would be extremely happy if they implemented something like this.

I actually think this is what they will use, or something like it. Naturally it seems to be the best possible system, catering to both the competitive and casual players. I really hope they use a system like such.

With a few additions, that might work pretty well. I almost didnt click this presuming it would be just another terrible idea, but not bad, not bad!

There is no ‘perfect’ ranking system. People at 343 get paid to make a ranking system. Leave them be, I’m sure their best interests are at heart.

I do know that they are leaning towards the competitive side of life because of the way that multiplayer was described in the halo 4 first look video ( about how the maps aren’t just taken from campaign and are purposely built for competitive).

I’m sure they’ll develop a system that beats the trueskill system all while giving you a means of buying armour etc.
