With 343 Industries working on building game modes, we will probably receive our beloved Infection mode pretty soon. Therefore, what would you guys like to see on it? What do you think would be the perfect Infection mode on Halo 5?
Personally I think the new Infection should have a little mix of Halo Reach’s and Halo 4’s infection:
Flood Skins: I think Halo 4 did an amazing job implementing Flood Skins in Halo 4’s Infection. They should definitely bring it back. - Armor Color: In Reach, every Spartan had their own individual colors, however they took that away in Halo 4. This is a feature I want back from Reach, it was better seeing Spartans with their own individual colors instead of all being just green. - Thrusters: Thrusters for Spartans should be removed (only the strafing from left to right) to balance the game, or give the Floods more powerful and buffed thrusters. - Final Stand: This is a new feature I came up with myself. What if in final stand, not only do you get an over shield, but also the Lawgiver. 343 gave out so many weapon variants for Halo 5, and it’s a shame to only have to use it in Warzone. Therefore, the last player should get access to the Lawgiver (or any other shotgun variant) to give him/her a better fighting chance before he/she goes down.What are your opinions? Please don’t bash on each other’s if there is a disagreement.

Haha that would be menacing to see a Spartan reanimate into a flood right in front of you! And imagine all the scripting you’ll be able to do in forge!
The only thing I would add is I hope they add a unique shotgun just for Infecton.
As it currently stands, the shotgun is way too powerful and accurate to be used fairly when infection arrives. Even if it’s just the exact same model as the regular shotgun but with a unique name, it would work.
The same would go for the magnum. Can you imagine how useful it would be if infection came with the current shotgun and magnum? Insane. Nerfed magnums and shotguns for infection are a must, instead of having to turn down human damage
It would be cool if they added a seperate area called “The Flood” kind of like theres an Arena and Warzone area. It would have the premise of a zombies mode like in CoD but would be uniquely theres. They could come up with missions that you have to complete as you battle through Flood infested zones, and a survival mode where the last man standing in the end wins, the waves getting progressively harder. I don’t get scared by games usually, but I always thought the Flood were alot freakier than zombies and if done right this could be a big hit.
Infected spawn where they died if killed by another Infected.
Last Three Standing instead of Last One Standing where the last three players get revive mechanics where the other remaining humans and revive.
Phases with objectives so you have to carry a bomb to a place to blow open a door or press a button or get into a zone to win while also fighting zombies.

That’s is a really good idea! Wow I never thought of that. Making a new game mode separately and then some of the game types can have objectives while also revolving around Infection. That’s really cool idea dude.

Thanks man. I think it could draw in more players too. Zombie style stuff is a big hit in today’s culture in games, movies and shows. And the more inventive the better, and I feel the Flood is inventive, why just have zombies when you can have a parasite that takes control of your body and mutates you into a grotesque killing machine lol

Lol np and exactly! 343 can do so much with floods and if they put the time and dedication, they actually start a brand new community.
I think a good idea for one of the missions they could do for The Flood would be starting at a section on one end of a starship (unsc/covenant/forerunner, either works) where you boarded it. The objective is to fight your way through the ship to the engine room, cause damage to a reactor to destroy the ship and the infection, and then fight your way to a hangar for evac before the timer ends.
Don’t forget a fix for the latency issues, so people outside the US even can play infection. Currently, using a sword or shotgun is a waste of time for many players, as the distance necessary to actually hit an enemy seems somewhat twice as much as it normal would.

Yea that sounds pretty good or maybe a mission where u have to escort one player across the map to an objective point and if the player dies, you lose the round. Imagine how packed all the Spartans will be

That would also be a good idea. Instead of a player it could be an AI controlled person; like a doctor that has a possible vaccine…or even some kind of gas that could be used as a biological weapon against the flood. You must escort him to the evac point to win. I would probly recommend starting with at least two or three infected depending on amount of players allowed in a game, and not too short of a distance either. I think incorporating some kind of a story would help in draw in players that have a thing for storylines, along with people who just want to play the game mode.

I hope 343 get to touch on all this in Halo 6 because I think it’s a little too late for the, to add that in Halo 5.
