The perfect 1-50 solution.

Keep the Reach cR system (Recruit-Inheritor) as the “ranking system”.

Use the H3 layout in matchmaking of Ranked/Social playlists.

Ranked playlists use 1-50

HOWEVER

1-50 has no bearing on a players rank. It is just for that playlist, for matchmaking purposes and bragging rights.

No-one would bother buying an account in this case, thus eliminating boosting/deranking.

You’re welcome.

Thank you.

No one would buy accounts with 50’s on them?

People didn’t buy accounts because they were General, people bought them because of the 50’s.

Boosting and deranking isn’t connected to buying and selling accounts either.

The sellers just figured out the can do these things in order to sell accounts.

As long as there is INCENTIVE TO WIN in all playlists.

Also, your “ranked skill” should be visible in ALL playlists in Halo 4. Even social. The problem with Reach is that even if you were 1-5% Onyx in Arena, no one knew it in any other lobby besides matchmaking > Arena. Thus there was no incentive to play it. If Halo 4 is to ever have a decent ranking system, the player should be influenced by others to attain that “rank”.

If you keep 2 ranking systems in separate categories, no doubt the majority will play for the “cr” rank. Just look at Reach.

Yes because of the 50, because of what a 50 entitled. Do you honestly think people that buy 50’s ever use them? The kids play rumble pit or living dead or griffball.
High skill 50 is displayed on their service record and they will reach general at 600xp, without buying the 50 a noob could never be a general.
This eliminates the issue.
Noobs will be able to achieve any rank without even the smallest amount of skill.

I believe that ranks should be purely base on skill, not how many games you play. It would be a much better system in differentiating between who should be matched up against each other skill-wise.

How about my idea.

Just read it, please.

I don’t see how your system would take away bought accounts and deranking. As the bragging rights are still in there. If it’s anywhere to be seen, there will be bragging rights. Your system changes nothing except making all ranks available, which is not the reason people buy accounts, as you yourself said.

Also, I never said they use them. That was never up for discussion at all.

The only actual good way with skill tracking is to have it slowly “wither” away unless you constantly play to keep it, and a good way to make people wanting to continue playing is to keep it “living” and not allow ranks to get stuck.

I dont’t really like the idea, sorry.

I have to agree with this statement. Each game-type ranking system should be tweaked to fit its community. I also like the idea of reseting at seasons end with true skill being the base setting at the next season.
