Does anyone else feel that this game plays way to fast? This is supposed to be halo multiplayer. Halo isn’t a “fast” pace shooter, never was, and shouldn’t be now.
With the hitscan weapons being extremely easy to use everything just gets melted too quickly. Not to mention everyone just sprinting around mindlessly CoD style. Hate to make the reference but that is my honest opinion of what it feels like to play the game on a smaller map.
I love a lot of what they did with the game but the multiplayer just doesn’t play like halo. I actually forgot about my team and was just running around mopping things, an experience I have never had with halo but have experienced playing Call of Duty… again with the reference I know : / But I would consider myself a veteran player seeing as I have been playing for close to 10 years and I am just kind of shell shocked at the difference in gameplay I experienced.
I’m pretty disappointed in the multiplayer… I really hate to say that too…
halo has always been a medium to fast paced shooter, it isn’t the kill times but how frequent and long the action is that more defines this and halo has always had a lot of action going on frequently, to prove this look at Cod the BF, CoD is very fast yet BF is very slow and yet they both have 1 sec kill times or less.
though i would agree halo 4 is too fast, this is down to instant respawn though, because players are no longer punnished for dieing but more rewarded from being able to spawn instantly there is no break in the action, players die and instantly come straight back as if they never left, they also run straight to were they got killed from to kill the person that killed them which instant respawn allows for with ease.
I think the campaign paced too fast because of the console’s specifications and hardware limitations. I felt that some parts were cut off at the last moment or some months before going gold and somehow it all worked out just fine.
The multiplayer feels the same as Halo: Reach or Halo 3 to me, but I prefer the Halo: Reach and Halo 4 aspect of the multiplayer, meanwhile others treasure Halo 3 for some reason.

This. The pace surprised me as well, until I remembered how fast-paced Halo 2 and 3 were. Halo Reach is an anomaly - compared to the other games, it’s unusually slow-paced. Halo 4 is just a return to 2 and 4’s pace.

I guess it’s all opinions, H4 is faster than H2 even imo, just with everyone sprinting around and the instant respawn just allows for some real hardcore mindless gameplay, which is so unlike the halo I have experienced
I completely agree with op and no halo 2 was certainly not a fast paced game ^^^^
343 even knows its fast because they even made it 60 kills to win instead of 50. 50 would end too quickly now.
And its not just the sprinting. Its the super quick reloading, its the fact everyone starts with a br/dmr and theres no incentive weapon hunt before battling. No one cares about power weapons because they are worthless now, which means no attempt to control the power weapon spawns. Then theres the terribly designed maps with hardly any areas that can be controlled and hunkeres down in. Even if the maps had those areas it wouldent matter because they wouldent be able to be held very long because 1-shot kill power weapons are everywhere and are shown on the HUD. Add in much higher and further jumps with sprinting and you can cover the entire map in literally 5 seconds. No powerups (os and camo) in TSP also cuts down on control points. No TSR system adds to this because people will run and gun and disregard teamplay.Add all these things in and you got a very fast paced game with no teamwork.
That is all just TS Pro, i wont even discuss TS infinity because that is just an abomination.
The games mechanics are fine and the game could be fixed via title update and map packs. Here is what id suggest to make this game MUCH better:
-reduce reload times slightly
-remove recoil from BRS
-remove the aiming interference that happens when you got shot.(this allows the person that shoots first to win almost everytime because the other guy can never get a shot on target)
-remove sprinting from TSP
-add TSR that can be seen in game
-increase grenade blast radius and damage by atleast 30%
-remove weapons-on-map hud
-add permanant weapons on map
-i would prefer to remove either the BR or DMR entirely and stick with one but considering they are both in the game already, make them both exactly the same statistcally and increase damage. They should both kill in 4 shots at the same fire rate and both be equally effective at all ranges. They should just be preferences aesthetically and burst/single shot. In halo 2 the br and covenant rifle were both equally deadly in all aspects
-create better maps. H4 maps are easily the worst launch maps in halo history
-everyones default loadout should be AR unless they actually make the power weapons a valuable part of the game
-remove bloom
-add staticly placed OS and active camos to TSP maps
Well im sure theres more but all of those changes would make halo 4 play like halo for real and are all staples of the franchise. TS Infinity can keep all of their perks and different classes and have their cod playstyle. But atleast give us true halo faithful a few playlists to play some real halo in. Make everyone happy.
