And what’s Michael Salvatori up to these days anyways?

Interesting choice of composers for Infinite, totally breaks the pattern of 343i working with a few of the same people. My personal favorites on the b-team were Tom Salta, Kazuma Jinnouchi, Gordy Haab and Stephen Rippy.

Do you guys have any favorite composers or tracks from throughout Halo’s musical history?

I just love all the music in ODST I’ve replayed the game so many times because I love hearing the music

Soundtracks made by the gods themselves. The first of Halo clear. Since Halo 4 the soundtracks declined I think

ODST is by far one of the most surreal and emotionally significant soundtracks of my life. The time that it came out, the long night drives, falling asleep with the Xbox menu still on… Beautiful. It also certainly has appeal for a wider audience (I could see the Overture being played on my local jazz station). More people should know about it. It’s incredible music.

I agree 100% I’d love to get the ODST soundtrack on CD

Yes, that is unfortunately true. But like the other parts of 343i’s foray into Halo, they’ve introduced a few new ideas in the H4 & H5 OSTs that have stuck, and actually pushed the ball forward for Halo. So, I mean, what would an alternative universe look like where Bungie kept making Halo? Idk, not worth contemplating. What we got was an interesting take, and while many parts failed, in some ways that don’t get talked about much, 343i’s work has had some really significant achievements with Halo.

Haven’t found a Halo Soundtrack I don’t like!

Right! I wonder how the new composers are going to be, and how they found them. I’d love a vidoc on this.

Your post if missing Joel Corelitz in the Halo Infinite spot. He was the one who composed Through The Trees, which is the Halo Infinite rendition of A Walk in the Woods.

Thank you for catching that! I’ve edited the post accordingly.

We may not because he may not want to do Halo soundtracks anymore

So far I have yet to hear a Halo soundtrack I don’t like, but I really enjoyed Reach and Halo 3

I really, realllllly enjoyed the mystery and epic scale of the original trilogy OSTs. Reach was cool, but it had a very different feel. Close to non-Halo-ish, but good still.
