The Original Rocket Launcher better return in my opinion the other one is ok but the original one classic
Ya, that’s probable, i wish it
Yeah the SPNKr was just cooler.
Yes definitely. The SPNKr is an iconic Halo weapon. But I hope the tracking ability from H2 can come with it. Though I would assume that might make balancing an issue.
I like the “new” model as well as the original SPNKr, but to be honest it’s best they only include one and that one should be the original classic model I agree. If they can worm both in, great - but it wouldn’t serve much purpose unless the Variants (SPNKr EX/Prime, AdVic…) return as well. If they don’t, then it’d be redundant to include both and a waste of file space. Sure it’s “one weapon” and all that, but every bit of space wasted is space that could have been used for something else.
The new one is extremely cool and it saddened me that they almost immediately added the old one to Halo 5 and essentially replaced it in arena. It never got a decent run.
The original one is superior in every way. There was absolutely no reason to make a new one. We all know why 343I added it
no need to get into that. I definitely hope only the original one comes back.

The new one was a simple green tube; hardly an iconic design.

The old rocket launcher was in Halo 5 though it was just a legendary weapon. I didn’t think the new rocket launcher was so bad, especially the Ad Victorium.

As far as I can recall, and I even forgot the green tube one for Halo 5, the green tube was functionally identical to the SPNKr.
However the controversy was, pointless redesign for the sake of redesigning, on top of that, redesign into one on the most generic looks you can give a rocket launcher. Not very far off from today’s stuff. Combine that with the ADS and it’s a nod towards “modern shooters”.
See, the feedback was as such, that i343 implemented the SPNKr, though as a legendary.
Why, exactly, go for the most generic design possible when redesigning a weapon that actually had an iconic look?
To me, the new design was so generic, so boring, that I actually forgot it, even the name, “Pilum”, I forgot.
Old one? SPNKr, this weapon will “spank” you hard, it’s a spanker.

It has tracking in Halo 5
SPNKR rocket launcher for life

Just tracking for air vehicles would make it more balanced.
I hope the SPNKR returns as well. The new rocket launcher is one of the most generic looking rocket launchers I have ever seen

It doesn’t have to be iconic to be cool. The magazine was interesting, it looked practical yet futuristic, and most importantly it sounded like a rocket launcher instead of a weak “whoosh” noise. It sounded like it had some serious force behind it.

It kinda looks like Doom (2016)'s Rocket Launcher in my opinion.

You got the name correct, it’s supposed to be a reference to an old accurate spear. I agree the Rocket Launcher looked generic. However, I think the reason they redesigned it was to make the Rocket Launcher more “practical and accurate” I thought the original Rocket Launcher looked cool in my opinion it just screams death. Sadly just like you, I’ve played so much MCC that I forgot about the new Rocket Launcher. Even when I went back to play Halo 5 the SPNKR is there more often. Now it’s awkward having two weapons that literally do the same thing outside of Warzone upgrades.

That is good to know. I haven’t played Halo 5 in a while. Hopefully that can come back then. The other standard launcher is pretty basic. I remember a Hydra Launcher too, which was rather cool, but the other launcher is just a generic rocket projectile launcher.

Okay. Choose from the alternatives below:
The new one was a simple green tube; hardly a unique design.
The new one was a simple green tube; hardly an interesting design.
The new one was a simple green tube; hardly a memorable design.
The new one was a simple green tube; hardly a cool design.
The visual design of the new launcher isn’t anything special, but the sound design is amazing. For that reason only, I actually liked using it more than the SPNKr in H5. Regardless, the SPNKr is almost guaranteed to return for Infinite. I just hope they don’t go overboard with the “return to the roots” design there. The CE SPNKr was a nuke, but the rocket took decades to reach its target (unless it was being fired at you by the Flood).
