The only way HALO will beat COD is if us as the body of halo will stand up against CoD, and won’t buy Black ops II. Don’t pre-order. CoD is running out of ideas so their becoming futuristic. Halo will become dominant as it always has been. Don’t buy it!
Why, OP sure is persuasive.
…
I doubt that Halo 4 will have much of a problem beating BO2, at least on the 360.
Nice poll. I wonder what how it will turn out…

Thanks for the sarcasm
Um, no.
Halo will only beat CoD if it goes multi-platform, not any of this “believe in ourselves!” metaphysical junk.
Meh. I’m a fan of both games. I’ll be buying both. Halo is my #1 though if that redeems me of my filth and spares me from execution by the pure fans.
Halo has consistently beaten CoD in sales when you only look at 360 sales.
I think that Halo 4 will beat it simply because of visuals. I mean do you see those graphics on BO2? Talk about straining your eyes.

I’m not a completely pure fan. I just posted this because i’m tired of hearing everybody saying halo 4 won’t sell good, halo 4 can’t beat CoD, yadayadayada.
Two things ok, one Call of Duty comes out for 360, PC, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, Vita. (I am including Wii U and 3DS because call of duty games do come out on Nintendo consoles). Where as Halo is on 360. Oh sure I could say pc but those are old ports and new halo games never come out on both 360 and pc at the same time. So lets see here a game for 1 console vs a game for 6 I wonder which will have an easier time selling. Now for the second point don’t buy call of duty really. IS this the stupid Mario VS Sonic Fan boy war of the 90s because honestly everyone wants it to be. And let me tell you something there are no winners. Both Mario and Sonic Games are awesome and the fact people picked a side was stupid. Oh this sounds similar to the idiots I was bashing on screw attack today. Screw the hardcore mario fanboys Mario is not EA with Madden, If sega wants to make a party game or a kart racing game then that’s fine, but no its a rip off mario did so no one else can. Sorry I am the halo forum and I kind of went off topic any way my point is don’t be like some of the other fanbases it just makes halos look bad.
I love Halo as well, but why do you care?
It’s not like you’re not gonna find a new person everyday.
Just get Black Ops 2 so you can have fun playing zombies with your friends.
Sorry, there is no revolution, and if you don’t buy BO2, you’re friends will constantly ditch you.
No mean to be harsh, but someone needs to tell you.

Here is the thing with halo its xboxs mascot. So going by that logic it can be said Halo vs Mario vs Sony Game. This is what it looks like because in reality playstation has no mascot. If you want to go by genre then Metroid, Halo, Killzone. These are the battles that the halo fan base should be going with Call of Duty already has a rival and that is Battle Field which is multiplatform to. Halo will never beat out Call of Duty unless the series has a Sonic 06 game equivalent or activation stops it (which would be dumb seeing how it sells and its not bad). It was so much easier when platformers where the top genre because the two biggest ones where mascots. FPS games are two spread out.
Halo will never be on top ever again. Not for more than a week, anyway. Even if people don’t buy CoD, they won’t come back to Halo. They’ll almost certainly go to Battlefield, or some other game that hasn’t come out yet. It’s like when Halo overtook…I dunno, Goldeneye or something (I didn’t play any video games before 2001). Halo would eventually fall, but it would be to something new (in this case, Call of Duty)
Every CoD game I tell myself I’m not going to buy the next one…
Can’t help myself if I want to game with my friends.

Ah I remember those days where they just stayed on Halo or everyone switched games back and forth…

07-09 were the glory days. People only played 2 games, Halo 3 and CoD 4. You could always find a team to run with.

If you ever have time to kill do research on gaming in the 70s,80s and 90s. I am 20 and though I didn’t grow up in the 70s or 80s its just amazing what this industry was like. In some ways I will say we have advanced and others fallen back. I can’t wait to see the end of the FPS genre being on top. It will happen and what happens next will be intrusting. Honestly besides storage graphics can’t really get that much better unless you are only going to realism
So 3d and motion control should be getting more ground and then virtual reality.
Thats where I see the next step which means exploration games will be going to the top.
