The only reason not to have a visible rank is

All the people who are bad don’t want to be exposed.

Simple.

I don’t even understand WHY they won’t put a Trueskill playlist in, so what if people boost? Good players will destroy them and they will lose their rank. Halo 3 players looked to see if someone could maintain a 50 in a playlist, if not, probably a boost.

It’s not like you’d be forced to play in the playlist.

Just put it in so we can all shut up. You already insulted us enough by putting all these silly additions which are against what Halo stands for, please just allow us to keep this competitive sliver that remains.

I believe is more for people don’t selling high level ranked accounts. So you are matched with people you know to play, Not people that have the money for it. Also you still have rank, only visible to YOU

Not to be exposed? From what exactly? That they aren’t the best at a video game? Oh. Ok. Yep. That’s something i’m sure all the people who don’t care for it are worried about. Real scurred.

I’m a 46 in Lone Wolves and 43 in Doubles in Halo 3, and I don’t care to have visible ranks.

Guess i’m just scared of being exposed…i’ll probably lose all my friends, and my family will disown me. Next my employer will fire me, and I will automatically flunk out of college. The repurcussions of an online gaming rank has meant more than I previously realized. Oh no. :frowning:

You suck at Halo!? YOU’RE FIRED!

You don’t have to want it. The problem is that people were asking for it be taken away, which ruins the experience for people who DO want it.

Regardless of how you feel about it, if you indeed do not care about your rank, why do you care about it not being in the game?

Players don’t want to earn anything, they want everything handed to them.

Guys…my girlfriend just left me for a 47. :frowning:

Boosting, deranking, selling accounts.

> Guys…my girlfriend just left me for a 47. :frowning:

Your being irrational.

I’m not relating this to anything outside of the game, please grow up, infant.

If two players come up against each other, I want to know what SKILL he is. Rank =/= Skill.

You’re*

Am I grown up now?

This.

So?

You might be mistaking apathy for opposition. I’m not against having visible ranks, I just won’t miss them. I never found them to be an integral part of my Halo experience, is all.

That said, I understand that a lot of people do care a lot and I want Halo 4’s launch to be great for them too, so I’ll still sign any petitions or whatever’s you guys will probably do for this. It’d surely be worth a playlist or two.

That’s the problem.

That, right there.

Good players.

Let’s say you’re in Halo 3 ranked, you’re a Major and have a Highest Skill of 34. You need a win to get your Commander.

Someone who has started a second account and is an active 50 in various playlists. They are currently boosting an unskilled player to their 50.

Your team, if all in the range of 30-35, and the enemy team’s other two players of the other team are the same skill range. Hell, maybe they’re boosting as a group of three even.

You’re team will more than likely lose the game.

Then, throw in derankers who spend the entire match suiciding so they can boost others to a 50 once more. They are blatantly taking points away from your team, so your entire team will lose just so they can rank down.

It’s not just someone getting paired up against a bought fifty, or something of the like. It’s of scenarios like I’ve depicted that can lead to you having your True Skill rating taking false hits and thus you can eventually find yourself stuck at a rank where you will win five games and not rank up. But, lose one and rank down.

This is the problem. Not you, yourself as a player. But, the fact that it was based purely on Win/Loss and that the True Skill rating was knocked off balance by people who abused it.
