Congratulations pro sprint players! You have scared away the most dedicated fan base of any console game since 2001. You now have the forum to yourselfes, Suggest and agree with each other how great the awesome new modernized features in halo are and will be!

you are literately about 300 different people responsible for 5000 halo purists dissapearing from this forum.

You won this battle.

But you ruined a completely perfect game.

Halo 2 added nice new features to the halo universe.
Halo 3 added even more features to the halo universe. (2 major features each, ex; Clans, party, forge, theater)
What halo has since then added is nothing but gimmicks and adaptations to other games, and you seem to be in favor of this.

Well look at whats going on with the topics, most of them are pro these new terrible changes.
The rest of the people have been driven away by your nonfactual, casual and unskilled mind sets.

I have yet to hear a PROFESSIONAL who is in favor of both sprint and the rest of the SA’s.

They play this game more than you. I think they know what they are talking about.

But never the less, thank you for completely turning Halo, the masterful legendary franchise that somehow sustained more players than any other game on xbox live for years, into a game that is played online for about 1-3 months, then scrapped for the new Cod or BF.

Good job with your analytic and logical structural thinking about Sprint, the rest of the SA’s and the map strechings.

Gj, wp, gg, bye.

It’s sad but true - I’ve all but given up trying to explain why sprint is bad as it’s a constant uphill battle against ignorant users that demand different explanations at every turn, and yet marginalise said constructive criticism as nothing but “opinion” without attempting to even refute any of the points that have been consistently made for over five years now.

Also, I wouldn’t exactly call your thread constructive. Just warning ya’ ahead of time.

I think 343i are the ones who have to come with a solid argument as to why sprint SHOULD be in the game.

Ya, I used to write out detailed responses explaining sprint’s effects on the game.

After awhile it becomes pointless though. I don’t even think most pro sprint posters have the mental capacity to understand what it being said, let alone form a coherent rebuttal.

I really don’t mean to rain on your parade, but to me it seems as if the “pro-sprinters” have gone far more silent than the “puritsts”. Both sides are still present, but I’ve seen way less praise-posts than, say, a month ago…

They already have. It’s in because players expect to sprint. No one ever said it adds to Halo gameplay. I’ve accepted sprint (in H5 at least) and I’m done arguing that it should be completely gone. I’d rather give feedback to help balance it further because whining for its removal is just silly.

Be it as it may, these whiney, self martyring threads have got to stop.

Maybe, but it’s thanks to our criticism (and not whines) that things like loadouts, ordnances and flinch have been removed, and everybody seems to agree that it is “a step in the right direction” now. You said it yourself, sprint is not here because it benefits the gameplay, and that’s why I try to discuss its negative impact, even if I’m getting tired repeating the same things to the same questions.

Exactly. No one ever said it adds something to the gameplay, especially when 343 puts so much focus on the whole ‘Arena’ aspect of Halo 5 i think they should explain why a non-Arena mechanic belongs in a Arena shooter.

I’m still here.

The opposite is true. The pro-sprint crowd systematically loses every single time the debate comes up since they pretty much get backed into the corner by facts with only “because lore” or “it just FEELS better” as their only arguments.

I agree our criticism does have an impact sometimes. However, with Halo 5 being built around sprint (maps and spartan abilities), it is counterproductive to demand its removal. I’m curious to see the changes they have made from all the feedback.

@Craze: That’s all the reason they need. They are obviously trying to attract other player bases. I also disagree. After playing the beta, it changed my outlook on sprint in Halo and it gave me hope that a modern Halo can be very competitive. I’ve been anti-sprint for a long time, but I can see why 343 is scared to get rid of it. I believe “classic” Halo can still survive in today’s industry, but they aren’t willing to take that risk. It sucks, but I can understand why.

Byeeeeeee!!! Hopefully I catch you guys on MCC. Jokes aside tho I hope MCC gets fixed so you guys can still play halo

I agree that it’s very unlikely that sprint is removed, actually I don’t expect anything from these feedback. If I keep on expressing my opinion, it’s because, unlike what many people want to believe, I love this franchise like everyone here, and I know I don’t enjoy where it’s going right now. Halo was the only alternative in the FPS genre on console, if it loses its specific gameplay, then Halo (the multiplayer part, which represents more than 90% of my playtime) is over for me.

I’d like to have your optimism on the competitive side of H5, but I just can’t see it happen.

I honestly don’t know why ppl still bother arguing about sprint it’s in the game get over don’t like it don’t play it. The game is coming out this year, there is no way they can remove it now and make to release date. 343 wants sprint in their halo. To the them the beta was to find out feedback on how to balance the mechanics they want in the game sadly I can almost guarantee the feedback on removing said mechanics is being ignored.

we all have a simple choice, playing 343’s saga for what it is and what they are trying to do and help balance it. OR we don’t play it and wait for the saga to end and maybe switch hands again.

with all they have invested into Spartan abilities they arnt going no where

What we argue here doesn’t just apply to this Halo, but likely to future Halos as well. We have to start somewhere.

As I said, it’s simple: because I still care for Halo, but I don’t enjoy it with sprint. And basically, you’re just telling us “shut up and get out of here”. Maybe one day you will be the “whiner” when they start adding things that completely alter the way you liked Halo to be played, without any alternative to back up, you’ll see then if things are so binary.

I love halo as much as the next guy, I’m one hour away of having 10days worth of online playtime on halo 3. I took my breaks from the beta to go play the collection. What I’m saying is where they are right now in the production cycle there is no way they can remove sprint and throw the maps out the window and have another beta.

i just stopped comparing the beta to my favourite halo game. I tried to play it the wait they intended I enjoyed it and it still felt like halo to me. Different yess but still halo, I actually like the added “complicatedness” to the holy triangle. I enjoy wanting to use more than just the BR and power weapons. I enjoy being back to even starts and no more kill streak like mechanic.

I think your post doesn’t necessary call for an answer, but have a great time with H5 then. I understand the way you take it, but it will be much, much harder for me.

Get over yourself, we don’t have to agree with you simply because you told us to. Call them gimmicks all you want, but they add to the gameplay and make the game fun again. I play Halo 2/3 now, and while I loved it 5+ years ago, it simply isn’t fun to play anymore. It’s sluggish, slow and feels dated.
And I have yet to hear a PROFESSIONAL who is in favor of no-sprint (see how that works? I can make bold statements too and imply it is a fact)

No not at all, it’s just that the no-sprint crowd can’t seem to understand what the pro-sprint crowd is saying. Pick at the points that they can argue against, ignore the rest
