Because ranks actually unlock things that alter the game unlike the other halo games. So everyone should have a fair start on release day.
If 343i is not reseting everyone who has it early than they are making a big mistake.

So what if it unlocks things? Chances are you’re never going to run into these players. No one’s going to have a 30 level advantage over you so what does it matter?
And source?
Watch any live stream lobby. Nearly everyone’s level is the same.
why does it matter? Think about it, with the way truskill (or whatever the ranking system is) is supposed to work, people who have been playing the game have a higher skill. So until you get to that level you will be playing everyone else who just got the game and is a lower skill.
People need to think a little bit, I highly doubt someone who has had the game for that long will be in the same division as the new players.
Another thing, if you watch the Major Nelson/343 livestream, a player who has more weapons does not necessarily do better AND we get options at loadouts provided by 343 so we are on a more level playing field until we can make a good loadout ourself

Your kidding right? They made up that gallahager video for the arg a few weeks back they are run by trolls, and what do they care they all have early copy’s of the game. I’m not buying this.

343 already said that there would be rank resets.
This is just plain stupid.
There should obviously be a rank reset.
There is a guy playing, who the machinima stream were talking about earlier and he’s rank 44 already and that was about 5-6 hours ago, he’s probably gone and hit 50 for all we know by now and working his first specialisation.
The 24/7 live streaming team that were playing at the time were APL and Lester, and they came into contact with 2 guys they said were obvious pros and both 44+ one of which had like a K/D spread of 6.0ish and the other 3.0ish.
by the time its out they’ll probably have maxed both specs…
