Joining mid-game is the worst thing that has been grafted from other games. The main reason being that the most likely reason for a gap to fill in a game is that the team with a vacancy is being dominated and someone decided to quit. This usually results in you being dumped in a game where you will definitely loose. Why should you or me be put there? Who would want to be there?
Of course the worst occurrence is when you join a game and then it instantly finishes, whether you get credited a win or loss isn’t really the point, although it’ll most likely be a loss, taking into account vacancies are usually on the losing team.
I honestly see no point in the joining mid-game system, it only serves to dump you in a losing team most of the time.
I don’t mind it all that much. The biggest problem for me in Halo was dominating a team then all of a sudden it’s 4v1 since 3 players left… that makes for a very long, drawn out game. Games go faster when players get put in during the match.
Once that match is over, stay in the lobby and enjoy a new game.
I have yet to really have a bad mid-game join. Every game I have been placed into put me on a winning team or one behind by 10-30 points. Better that then hunting one person for 20 minutes.

The way you worded your post it seems to me that you don’t mind because you are rarely on the receiving end of the issue. What I heard was “oh yeah I love JIP, when my To4 is dominating randoms, it makes for much quicker games when there are constantly 4 people in the game to kill”

I have had generally the same experience except in Oddball (probably due to low numbers). Have had at least 5 games where it was 150 to 0 when I joined.
