The Olympians hold the key

Since everyone is getting on the BLOPS2 vs Halo 4 bandwagon I thought I would add my thoughts to the whole thing. Now yes cod sells like hotcakes, but hopefully it doesn’t steal Halo’s glory.

Thankfully cod is out a week later, which is hopefully a godsend since some people would have bought cod then when halo came out not bothered. One thing that needs to be done right is the advertising to make the game get its claws into the market again

The web series live action sounds awesome, but it probably won’t attract many new people who aren’t interested unless its incredible, think about it, an averga joe blogs isn’t going to go to halofilm.com to check it out, stuff needs to be shoved down their throats and burned into their retina to make them remember halo is the game to have!

So what better way to do that then show a quarter of the world your stuff? Even if they had one amazing advert like the Halo 3 ones, and got a spot before/during the olympic opening ceremony they would get an insane amount of viewage and coverage! It probably will cost a religious sacrifice of Frankie to afford but in the end imo one awesome trailer at the olympics would be a better way to advertise the game than any amount of live action or e3 reveals!

Thoughts?

Lol @ title.

Olympics would be a good idea

ofcourse lol

Well it’s an interesting idea to say the least, and it’s safe to say that it’d do the trick…

…But I don’t really think that would happen though, besides, I’m sure they have a supposedly much more Elaborate and well-planned Marketing Strategy…

I think this could have been posted in the other 3 Halo 4 vs. Black Ops 2 threads.

very interesting indeed.
Should have spartans racing with the new sprint. lol jk.

Even though it wouldnt happen, imagine for a joint venture between the olympics and halo, they did a race line up scenario, with usain bolt then insert runner here and it pans along the faces, and then the last guy is master chief/spartan 4 and he sprints to win haha

Ha, it would be hilarious to see spartans competing, sprinting and such, as ads before OS ^^
On a serious note I doubt Halo would be allowed to do ads, or that Ms would spend money on it. People who watch OS are sports fans, not Halo fans, Fifa or similar would do better (or Mario at the olympics).
The Live action series on the other hand must be available free on xbox and hyped on the dash, only way anyone outside the “halo fan” sphere would ever see them.

I understand your point about the sports thing, but you could say that about cod and the superbowl, the point is, the olympics will be the most watched thing on the planet this year probably, so regardless of who watches it, most people who would be interested will see it, people who wouldn’t be interested will see it too and might attract some of them
