The old music ...mandatory?

I think yes

Think about it, look at MCs armor, the old weapons, some of the enemies

343 added many new elements to halo like the prometheans and some new gear but they didnt fully replace ICONIC aspects of the series’s foundation , they just updated them and took them in a slightly new direction without having to completely redo them

I think this is a must for H5, returning to main theme but still having their own style and music

The 3d artist that worked on chiefs armor at bungie no longer works on it now so dont give me the excuse that marty isnt at 343 so the music has to be totally diff …halo is halo… and the main theme needs to return in some capacity for it to feel right

I feel that Jinnouchi/Davidge should incorporate some of the old themes like the monks and this piano theme but do so sparingly.

I think that they should definitely include some of the old tracks, because like you said, Halo does not feel like Halo without them. I would not want them with that much of a new spin on them but they do not need to be identical. They should not be used in abundance though.

I think they should get the rights to a few of halos older music, like the Mjolnir mix.

The soundtrack needs to feel fresh, but keep it’s basic essence from past tracks.

Halo 4 went too far and Halo 3 didn’t add much to it. Half H3’s tracks are just HCE tracks redone.

The main theme is MAIN for a reason and needs to appear multiple times thoughout the game/OST.

According to Frankie, Jinnouchi should be doing to majority of Halo 5’s music. Good news for me; I enjoyed his music a lot more than Davidge’s. Nothing as legendary as Marty though, of course.

That was my main problem with Halo 3, not much new. Halo: CE laid out themes for the series and Halo 2 made new songs and redux old themes but made them fresh.

Halo 4 sort of had a theme but it was very obscure.
