What I’m trying to say is - cutting split-screen was NOT done solely because of the preservation of FPS. They could have very well have 60FPS for lone player while switching to 30 FPS for co-op play/splitscreen. They did not do so. This is ridiculous, with this new hardware - it seems that some of the features that gamers just took for granted and as of-course-this-will-be-supported are now being dropped.

Its sad, really. I mean I know I will still buy it and play it and have fun. But what happens when a friend (who I played ALL halos with [split-screen]) comes over? I will have to turn him down OR ask him to bring over 1) A TV, 2) an X1, 3) A copy of Halo 5.
Now all of you blind ‘defenders’ have to admit - bringing over all of that stuff is a bother. A MUCH bigger bother that just to bring over a controller. Now imagine if I have three of my friends come over for some Halo? Yeah, we somehow have to fit that many TVs just to play with FOUR people!

Not saying that this is the case BUT…IMO… Each player now needs Xbox one ($349 US), each person need Live Gold ($60 US), each person needs game ($60 US), anyone seeing a trend here since 343 is part of Microsoft studios???

Like I said, its sad.
Maybe, MAYBE there will be a campaign edition of H5 that will have splitscreen?

I hope so… My wife and I play the Hellicopter…(lol) out of this game… Actually tonight, we have a HALO night setup with friends… Pizzas, Beer, High fives and all… You’ll see me online, but sadly not when Halo 5 releases, unless something happens
Now that any and all performance-related arguments against splitscreen have been completely destroyed, is there any way we can bring this issue right up to 343 so that they have to react to it?

Anyone know Phil Spencer??? That’s about the only way

Having a differing opinion isn’t trolling. Seriously, this buzzword of ‘trolling’ is getting out of hand. I’m glad that they took out splitscreen. Insulting people isn’t really the best way to go, so I’ll be reporting that. But thanks Culaghini.

Before you say that I said YOU, please reread what I put in bold. And that’s where things are headed. They don’t want you to play on the same console, because it is detrimental to the way the game plays, the resources, etc.

The worst thing I noticed in any of them was a reduced draw distance in Reach, where you couldn’t see all the way across Hemorrhage. Split screen doesn’t affect the aesthetics in the slightest, or the FPS if they actually put some effort into it, and considering the millions they’re throwing down, it should be kinda trivial honestly.

…what? WHERE and in WHAT game did they make splitscreen and 60fps? Name ONE Halo game. ONE.
If what I’ve read on some of this thread is true, I’m happy that at least 2 player split screen is still there. Hopefully I can get my uncle to play again seeing as we haven’t played a game split screen since Halo 3.

When did they say split screen? And is it only Multiplayer? Because they already said NO co-op splitscreen in Campaign…

Both your name and your views are deplorable.
OK so I remember when I first looked at this discussion I noticed the link to the tweet that was sent by Josh Holmes that there is 2 player campaign coop Is that tweet still relevant or not

Thanks for the unnecessary and unhelpful comment, I say again, where is the splitscreen and 60fps game that this guy claims of Halo has made?

They said there was no 2 player splitscreen campaign co-op.
Hey, both of you, knock it off. We really don’t want this to get locke’d.
And about communicating directly to 343, the best you’ll be able to do is the #Halo5SplitScreen thing.

Knock off what? I don’t mind the thread being locked, seeing as how the entire thing is null and void now, but I’m curious as to what he meant by the 60fps splitscreen Halo game. I don’t care about the Call of Duty, but I don’t think they had one either.

I’m keeping all of my replies on topic, as you are not, I have also reported this and your previously insulting/off topic and unconstructive comment.
I still would like to know about the 60fps splitscreen Halo game. I know he can’t mean on the computer if it’s split screen, so I’m baffled as to what he is talking about. I don’t even think Halo wars, or Spartan Assault had anything over 30fps and those things aren’t even using a majority of the resources of the Xbox 360, or Xbox one.

How very noble of you. Keeping it on topic… there isn’t one. That guy misspoke. What he should have said is that there hasn’t been a single Halo title where split-screen support somehow trickled into solo play and compromised its performance. It’s pretty much a no brainer.
