Breakout on 4 player splitscreen
So what now, what do we do? Dose anyone have any suggestions of how to get split screen back?
Im willing to drop co-op split screen for more performance and graphics cause i just dont care about playing campaign with someone next to me

But split screen wont affect your graphics, only those who chose to play on split screen will be affected.

Besides voicing our disappointment… Not sure, really.
Truthfully at this point, I’d be very surprised if they got Split Screen into Halo 5.
I’m kind of firmly in the mindset we’re -Yoinked!- for Halo 5…
but not necessarily for the future.
Put the game at 1080p 30fps for campaign and 720p 60fps for multiplayer. Multiplayer is still smooth, split-screen co-op at 540p will work, AND the campaign will be “cinematic”. Win-win-win.
halo nights with four player split screen is the most fun i have ever had playing any video game, Xbox live does not compare to it at all. it is a unique experience i can only say works with halo for its multitude of game customization no other game has ever come close to this ability to change a multi player game option keeping halo from getting dull and boring. and split screen is how my brothers and i have always enjoyed halo and wish to continue to playing halo.
please keep split screen in halo 5 343 please
Honestly without 4 player split screen slayer I will not be buying this game. 1v1 matches are extremely boring. Removing content because of frame rate issues just makes Microsoft look incompetent. Even if I had two Xbox one’s I don’t get the same excitement when I play a game in separate rooms. It feels anti social.

There is no need to downgrade the single player experience for split screen WHATSOEVER.
But that doesn’t mean split-screen shouldn’t happen.
It is entirely doable to make the game make concessions to have a playable split screen ONLY during a split screen session.
And that’s the flaw with the whole online substitute thing. It’s just not the same when you’re not together. Splitscreen is much more of a social thing than it is a gaming thing, so to speak. You’re doing it to hang out with other people, not win games. It’s a relatively simple concept that keeps getting overlooked. I don’t know how we can make it any clearer.

Yeah, basically.
I’ve said this so many times that I don’t know how to uniquely explain it anymore.
I haven’t been on these forums in months, mostly because it’s too depressing. But this not having spilt screen crap is complete -Yoink-. Who in their -Yoinking!- right minds thought this was a good idea???
I have bought every single halo game and have supported you all even through the MCC debacle. But I will ensure myself and every single person I know avoids this game like the plague that 343 is and I hope you never make a Halo game again.

I see this is the backseat developer thread, wherein people tell 343i all of the “simple fixes” to the problem with absolutely no expert knowledge on the engine or the game. Awesome. I’m sure they hadn’t thought of any of this before.
Halo Local 4 player multiplayer is one of the reasons I got a Xbox, and 360. It is what made the system for me, and it is still my go-to game of choice.
Hell, me and my friends were just at a con, and what did we do in the off-time? Four screen local, having all sorts of fun because that is the core of the experience. Sitting around with your friend, and having stupid explodey fun. Campaign mode or single player, not having split-screen is really a game breaker for me.
There’s a reason ‘Halo Night’ is a thing. And, you’re trying to effectively, kill ‘Halo Night’. (I mean, you already killed the story in 4. There’s not much left.) I was really looking forward to Halo 5, but losing splitscreen lost all of my interest.

Okay, first of all, don’t generalize me. I have quite a bit of knowledge on the subject and experience with video game programming. If I didn’t have knowledge of this, I wouldn’t have made that hefty OP.
Second, even if they had considered the stuff that o listed, it doesn’t matter from our perspective. As consumers, we have the responsibility to act when unsatisfied. And creating that checklist in the OP was to make this thread actually helpful to the developers.
Third, please try not to jump in here and just berate us. K’thanks.
This would be slightly less painful if MCC worked, but that’s a whole different beast that we won’t tackle here.
I’m just glad there is no p2p, no host advantage in halo. Im all for it, I dont care what they do. They can turn masterchief into a turkey and give me a nerf gun to shoot for all I care as long as there is no more stupid host advantage! Thats just my thoughts tho lol

I disagree about the story - in fact… its the only thing that is keeping me interested in buying the game.
I just wish that Halo night could have been continued on with this. meh
I read some of posts from last few pages and wow… I lost faith in mankind.
How can anyone be against split screen?
“I’m not using it, so neither should you” - seriously, what is wrong with you people? Are you really so shortsighted that you want unpolished games that are cutted from more and more features, just because YOU aren’t using it right now? What about future? Like some of us, you’ll eventually end up having wife and kids, what will you play with them? Nintendo? Please don’t tell me you’ll buy another console + online subscription for each and every member of your growing family - at that point you’ll find more important ways of spending your money.
This is absurd. Its a next-gen console, there is no excuse to get rid of something that is so iconic to the Halo games.
