Dude, that’s awesome! Good for you! I’m so happy for you! You don’t have to put up with what we put up with! Now please shoo!

So I saw this image on Twitter:

I don’t play splitscreen a ton, but this is a poor move. I can see why 343 may have to remove it - bigger levels and better graphics don’t mix with splitscreen well - but they could have put more effort into providing a solution. Hopefully this can be fixed before launch, or even in a TU/patch if they have to.

343 earns an 8/8 m8 for this.

Yeah, I’d accept it being added in a patch. But If I remember correctly, 343 said that they were planning to add Campaign theater to Halo 4 with a title update, and we know how that turned out.

Bumping your thread with borderline nonconstructive posts is also not cool, okay?

Alright, I have the link to the NeoGAF post Frankie made.

http://www.gamepur.com/news/19128-dev-explains-why-halo-5-guardians-does-not-have-split-screen-feature.html

“Anyway yes, it’s a bummer but 60fps had to take precedence. It’s not just aesthetics- the entire simulation is built on that framerate.”

So as I was saying, it was really ****ing stupid of 343 to just base their entire game around one framerate. So, so stupid. Why the hell did they do that? What advantages would that possibly give that would be worth axing not just local co-op campaign but 4-player splitscreen?

http://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/14/26/98/51/unacce11.jpg

I didn’t feel like reading through all 47 pages,so I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet. I was wondering if anyone has brought up why 343i decided to keep 2 player split screen for multiplayer, but removed split screen for campaign. It don’t see how playing multiplayer with just two people is useful, or fun. It would make more sense, for me, if they had split screen for campaign, because it would be more fun for 2 people to play together in campaign than it would be for them to run around a map made for 4 or more people and shoot at each other. Anyways, to sum it up, I was just wondering if there is any information regarding the reasoning for this decision, or if there isn’t any information about it yet.

Note: In this post I’m assuming that there is no multiplayer matchmaking for split screen players. So, this would really only be applicable to people with bad internet connections and people without gold.

So from that article it sounded like there was no split screen in any of the game modes. Is that true?

only 5% of unhappy people complain hoping to follow, the other 95 % simply leave and spend your money on another game .

Shoot, my bad! (It won’t happen again, I swear on my grave)

Those 5% really care about the game and don’t let 343 do this without a fight. Passionate fans.

People need to realize that new games adapt new features, keep some of the old ones and get rid of some of the old ones. I know it’s a big shock to everyone that they removed it, but I highly doubt this late in development that they will add it back in if even possible.

Many of us have been playing the games for 14 years and many of us has used this feature often. Possibly exclusively. And we’d like it back.

They have taken away FireFight (which I loved), they gimped the Theater mode (which I loved), made it all but impossible to share your screen shots and clips (which I loved) and I’ve stood by them all the way. This is a step too far for me. Split Screen with my best friend is how I play the game. We like sharing in the victory over the aliens. We like sharing a high five when things go well. And you can’t do that when you’re not in the same room.

If that does happen, I hope no one tells you to shut up and deal with it and what you care about isn’t necessary.

Ah yes, the basement of confinement in my mothers house. I love it. So dark and smelly.

I honestly do not appreciate that comment, however I agree that it does suck somewhat that there is no splitscreen for others, however I would rather have 60fps than 15-20 fps and splitscreen. Sorry.

I honestly meant no offense or flaming to anyone, so I don’t appreciate the unkind messages, however I suppose I deserve it. I don’t know.

Hey come on, be nice

Do not call out individuals.

I am disgusted at 343i for removing such an iconic feature from Halo because they’re scared IGN or whoever will say it’s not always 60.
343i has lost the plot, they really don’t understand Halo or it’s playerbase.
I’ve always played local split-screen, it’s a tradition.
REDACTED needs to be removed from his position, he lacks the integrity to be there.

Do we really need to delve into “No True Scotsman” fallacies there?
And is there sometimes a line between passionate fans and really passionate fans who have no sense of real life and spend their lives on the internet 24/7?

I strongly suggest we not go there.

You seem very dense on this topic. We are asking why we can’t have 60fps for single player and then for people who want to play splitscreen, to knock it down to 30fps when in splitscreen. It has been done before and everybody wins in that situation. Nobody is trying to take your precious 60fps away from you.

People are complaining because they want Halo 5 to have splitscreen and they do care. They are publicly stating this, so they are passionate about it.

Okay, now this is a fallacy. Don’t put stereotypes into this argument, it won’t help. Also, I spend 25 hours a day on teh interwebz, so don’t be hatin.
