Pound them into submission, in a respectfully manner. It’s worth it 343, plz make it happen whatever the cost.

You can make threads about it in off topic sections of other game forums if you go on any like I did, I don’t have or will make a tweeter either.
I could deal with the lack of 4 player split screen, but the lack of split screen co-op crosses the line. I won’t be buying Halo 5. If I wanted to go play a fps campaign by myself I would go and get Battlefield or COD. Split screen is a major part of Halo. I really hope 343i comes to their senses, because (in my opinion) they have been slowly dropping features that have been a core part of Halo’s identity and in the process they have been turning Halo into a shell of its former self.

They don’t need to come to their senses. They made a necessary decision. The current gaming industry demands a 60fps standard, especially for shooters. To keep that framerate consistent, something had to give. And it just so happens that split-screen co-op was the thing that gave.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel for all of you who still love playing split-screen. Hell, I love playing split-screen still. But it happens so rarely that I’m not really going to miss it. I’m content with my fond memories of a more social time. But that time is long over. Once Xbox Live and online gaming rose to prominence it was only a matter of time until games began dropping split-screen play. Halo is just the latest in a long line of games dropping it in favor of better performance. Who knows, perhaps Halo 6 could bring it back since they’ll have had experience with the Xbox One and time to really optimize the engine/game. Or maybe they’ll come up with a solution before the game launches like dynamic resolution or something, without sacrificing their performance or graphical fidelity.
I don’t see the point in everyone raising their torches and pitchforks. 343 knows how important split-screen is to people. They were once normal Halo fans who spent hours at LAN parties back in the Halo: CE and Halo 2 days. You think this decision was easy for them to make? Stop putting their heads on a pike for every little decision that they make. It is not the end of the world.

It’s not the end of the world. But it is the end of the best part of Halo. Splitscreen is what made halo huge.

It also affects those who share an Xbox with siblings.

Yes! I remember when I was still under the same roof with my brothers and we had to splitscreen all of the time. I feel for you.
Is there splitscreen for match making?
343 have a history of saying that something cannot be made to work while leaving out the words
“within our timeframe/budget”.
-Witness H4 campaign theatre.
We are hoping that our protest will make 343 devote the resources to make this happen. Only a fool would believe that it is impossible to have split screen working for campaign.
Why cant they keep the game 1080p 60fps on single player and just make it 720p 30fps on co-op. I don’t get it, they said they will have two player for multiplayer but why not campaign? I bet people will be asking them this at e3, but I have a feeling they will just dodge the question. I hope they bring back split screen, it was one of the defining features of the first Halo; I believe there was even a mini Bungie documentary of lan party/ co-op on the first Halo.
“I have spread my dreams under your feet.
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.”
― W.B. Yeats
343 you are treading heavily.

The whole, “It is under-used and it need to be cut for the betterment of the series” argument is absurd. Imagine if they decided that the ability to customize your Spartan (in multiplayer) was unneccesary. It would be removing a part of Halo that makes it what it is. This particular hypothetical situation reflects the issue people have with removing split screen from halo. The issue is that they are removing something that makes halo what it is and sets it apart from the other fps games.
Also, the frame rate issues would only effect those who were playing split screen on the same console, so if you didn’t use it it wouldn’t negatively impact you.
Oh, and I should mention. You shouldn’t generalize everyone’s actions (this is in response to your last paragraph) many of us aren’t here to demonize 343i, we are here to help them create the best game they can by giving them feedback. If you don’t see the point of people voicing their opinions (raising their pitchforks and torches) and voting with their wallet, then you don’t understand how capitalism works.
Edit: The question: "Why do they have split screen multiplayer, but not split screen coop for campaign? Should also be raised. I mean really? How often do people play multiplayer with just two people. At least the coop campaign would make more sense.

The game seems to be linked to 60FPS, I don’t think that can be changed, but other things can be while in SS 1080p can be made 720p, textures, lighting, shadows, and even poly count can be lowered, but this would affect the game when someone with the default and some in SS come together in MM.

Actually, if look at 95% of my posts, you will see that I am usually on 343s side and or defending them.
I wont be buying Halo 5 if there is no campaign co-op
I’m still not convinced. Star Wars Battlefront WILL support local split-screen co-op at 60fps. Source: http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/04/17/star-wars-battlefront-gets-new-info-number-of-maps-frame-rate-heroes-customization-and-more/ (towards the bottom).
Again this begs the question: Is EA a better development studio than 343? Or is it a conscious decision by EA to not tell a segment of their customers “too bad - sorry!”
I just looked, the petition as 99 out of 100.
Guys we need one more supporter to sign this petition: Link Removed by Monitor - Petitions are not allowed.
As I said, the “60 FPS is part of the simulation” excuse is pure bogus. In other words, “we didn’t keep it because we didn’t want to look bad when the framerate dropped, because you know, if something doesn’t work right, remove it entirely.” But hey, split screen users are a minority and their complaints about performance will most likely be drowned out by complaints about sprint, so there’s something to think about.
And I really hate the 140 character limit on Twitter.
Also, petitions aren’t allowed. Don’t get this locked. Don’t get banned.
