I for one am waiting to see what sheepish excuse they come up with when attempting to justify this.

We’re not going to get an excuse. We hope to get results.

> There should be about 10 million people that buy this game come November, though hopefully more like 12 Million+ like Halo 3
. Even if only 1% of people will ever use 3 or 4 way splitscreen, that’s still 100,000 people. That’s certainly a significant enough number that shouldn’t be ignored.
That’s a great point!
The first person to use the #Halo5SplitScreen hashtag gets a cookie.
I just don’t see the need for split screen anymore. I’ve not owned more than one controller for a console since the PS2 as the gaming world is now so heavily online with regards to multiplayer. Nowadays, only an insignificant amount of people want to go round to a friends house to carve up a screen between them. I can sit in my own home, with my big TV, in my boxer shorts and still achieve the exact same end result and a vast majority of people do the same.
We need Splitscreen. For me, splitscreen was the way i bonded with my younger brother during the Reach era. When i completed the campaign solo we then completed it again together. We’ve been completing the campaigns for each game since then, and i wish to do the same in Guardians.

You don’t need it. You’re probably the only person in your household who plays video games. I have 3 siblings who are Halo fanatics and we have only 1 Xbox. We need split screen. Without it, I might just buy the next BL game instead which happens to have 4 player split screen.
First off, what makes this thread official?
Second off, how do we know there won’t be 4 player split screen? Because it wasn’t in the beta?
Dunno, maybe I missed an announcement, but I can’t remember them saying no 4 player ss.

Probably shouldn’t make generalizations like that.
What do they have against 4p local? we honestly dont care about visuals only about being able to play with our buddies if we’re all sharing the same screen between 4 people.
looks like no more halo nights with friends =’(

- Its the unofficially official 4 player split screen thread!
- If you bothered to read the original post, you would have found the three relevant links…

- Right on.
2)My bad.
I haven’t done 4-player ss since H2, but I feel for you guys that still use it. Bummer.
XBO supports 8 controllers. I would like to see 8 person split screen.

Right.
I’ve said this before multiple times and I’ll continue saying it forever:
Xbox Live does not and cannot supply the social aspect and additional fun of playing with friends around you.
LAN party sessions, local 4 player split screen sessions… these are what made Halo: CE such a nice hit back then.
And every main Halo afterward has carried the feature with it.
Now 343i is breaking that off with Halo 5. I can’t say how… betrayed? … I feel.
The Xbox One doesn’t support LAN.
Then I see Halo 5 won’t support 4 player split screen?
Thanks, Microsoft. Thanks a whole lot.
I feel betrayed and disappointed. I was suspicious when Halo 4’s splitscreen had abysmal performance and scared when MCC didn’t fix it. It was a sign… it was a sign…
With 4 Player splitscreen, I can Invite 3 friends over and play AT THE SAME TIME!!! And Also, I think 4 player Splitscreen would be good with CO-OP.

Coop would be nice, an improvement.

I’ve always loved Halo night.

8 player split screen? I’m all for it. That said, I don’t think it would be practical but who am I to judge?
Right, Halo night was the best.
The multiplayer may as well not exist for me without 4 player split screen.
