The Official Splitscreen Thread

i hated playing split scree. me and my friends only did it twice in halo 3 but we just couldn’t stand the super small screen and the super low frame rate.

well see how fast we shut off the cash flow. pre order does not mean full purchase. Sorry Frankie and Bonnie are about to be rolled come post halo 5 production. I’m calling it now.

This is old but we seriously need an official statement from 343i.

Who gives a crap about playing on s tiny screen anyway?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=167186284&highlight=#post167186284 Give this a look before you go into full rage mode. How many of you on here are complaining because split screen is something you use everyday? Hell I miss it, but I used it maybe once or twice a month at best.

I played Halo and PSO (amount many others like Mario Kart) 4 player split screen on a 14" tv.

Nowadays it’s not uncommon to have a 40-50" tv in the living room. Granted, not everyone does. But families that can afford a £400 console and its £60 game probably do.

If they aren’t supporting split screen in their first party games then there’s no point the Xbone supporting 4 controllers.

With the exclusion of 4 player split screen, the dumbing down of in game voice chat, the design that supports better solo play over team play, the promotion of team chatter as a decent substitute for using a mic, the disconnect between 343i and the Halo community. They are single handedly making Halo a less social experience, and in my opinion, a worse one.

The recent info release was fantastic, but the fact that stuff comes at the cost of the previously mentioned stuff negates all the good it does.

Nope. And it was AWFUL

Agreed. I’ll make a list of Twitter accounts to “flood”

We want 4 player splitscreen to return to Multiplayer and 2 player splitscreen to return to campaign. Basically make it like it has been like in every other game.

lol, please stop now. You don’t want to wake up the Dragon

I can vouch for this

You have to acknowledge the possibility that the pro testers had some influence on these decisions. Halo 5 is going to be extremely competitive and not very casual-friendly. And that’s a shame because I’m a casual gamer who has a K/D of 0.76.

I swear, every time I read another hype article about this game, I"m reminded of the lack of split screen. It’s maddening.

No sorry you are just being ignorant at this point. Split-screen is not completely dead obviously, but its not a must-have feature anymore for a game to succeed financially especially on the X1 or PS4 (With Nintendo consoles, its a different story, different market).

I’m not saying there isn’t a place for it anymore, there obviously is as you can see by this thread, but you and the couple hundred people who are “boycotting” (we’ll see) this game are not shutting off cash flow.

As much as I hate to admit it, you’re right. There simply isn’t enough of us to make a difference by boycotting, hence the reason for doing the Twitter flood.

They are the major 1st party studio of Microsoft, they have the best tools and unlimited budget. They should have found a way to make local SC work.
They admitted they did a lot wrong in Halo 4 and even so changed Halo even more with Halo 5.

There are games that can’t change too much or they will turn in something else.
All that Halo fans asked with a new Halo game was for better graphics, new maps and better balance. I would be happy with a graphics updated Halo 3.
Taking 4 player split-screen of Halo is like making Fifa single player only.

If 343 wanted to change Halo so much they should make another IP and let someone else make a real Halo.

Also, congratulations everyone for getting this on the “Hot Topics” list! The more participants the better!

You’re ignorance betrays you. Go get more Ata boys from Microsoft and 343 if you feel so inclined. I’m done with this thread. Your a noob. And don’t have the slightest idea about how a modern family with a middle class income or below will be able to be happy with this game. If you feel I’m wrong… Go snort some more happy drug. Peace…

Oh, come on, we need all the supporters we can get. Don’t let one dingus shut you down like that!

Franks posts on gaf are a good explanation. Blame the Cloud stuff Halo 5 is going to use.

ell honestly these entitlement brats tire my patience. They get everything they want… Oh dad buy me a tv and Xbox in every room cause we are brats and coders don’t know how to code anymore. its really boring and not worth the time to point out the obvious stupidity going on.

You’re not a dingus, I simply used that word for the sake of convincing someone to not give up. That doesn’t mean I agree with 100% of what you’re saying, of course.

> You can do that with the D-Pad it as confirmed by game informer. I am disappointed by the lack of coop split screen only. I am not a big fan of the 4 way split screen for multiplayer. I always play the first campaign walkthough with my brother in every single Halo. But. I will give that up if 343i has made the Halo 5 campaign longer, more rich in story, and more immersive and smarter AI + more enemies on screen. I will sacrifice that. In this case I am thinking of buying another xbox one.

time to sound like a mega noob, but the co-op only affects campaign right? If it works for multiplayer, it should work for custom games too, right?
