ehem it seems you are a little lost that is were the hip hop comes in, rap always been about showing and beefing. but most rappers have mixed a lot of rap and hip hop in their album, if you want to hear some good rappers you got people like kendrick schoolboy pusha a$ap rocky only to name a few. rap wasn’t how you are stating it was that was hip hop…

i said that didn’t you see it? the newer gen is mixing this and creating some confusion with people but when when you think about rap and hip hop you are wrong there is no real hip hop with big booty and money though he might say somethings like these in sentences to tell about his life now and how it was before.

That’s false. Plenty of rap actually had real meaning. You had artists like Tupac, LL Cool J, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Coolio, etc.

pac died because he was beefing soo… ll cool j you call it hip hop when you hear a clear difference when a person has made rap or hip hop of course you’re still a rapper when you make hip hop

so let me try to clear this listen to this and see this difference,
heres some rap and hip hop and try to differentiate them
rap

hip hop

these are both rappers but they talk about two different things which is pretty clear and they both are rappers

You do realize that rap and hip-hop are nearly interchangeable terms? Rap can have meaning or no meaning just as hip hop can.

a lot of rappers been clear about this difference and its also well established too this thing, real hip hop always has some meaning or story. i need a link to believe this, until then ill say that you are wrong

As long as there’s halo games there’s good music.

Personally I’m not a big fan of music. When I say that people look at me like I’m crazy. What I really mean though is I’m not a big fan or noise. Which is what mainstream radio music is to me.

Other than a few NWA songs I dislike rap and hip hop. I’m more of a 70s rock kind or guy, AC/DC, Deep purple, queen, led zeppelin.

But I also like a lot of the songs from cowboy bebops soundtrack. There’s just something about western themes in a futuristic setting that works so well. Then there’s dragon ball and various other ranges of songs that enjoy.

Although due to lack of decent head phones or phone speakers I rarely listen to music.

Was not expecting to spawn the discussion of the day.

> > There is no good music anymore.
>
> Never been a fan of this mentality. There’s good music now and there was terrible music then too. Just a matter of finding it.

Nope. I hate rock music, always have. Don’t like rap or death metal. What else is there anymore aside from that? Hip hop is okay but there is no real or good hip hop (by good I mean singers who don’t sound like nails on chalkboard). Soul music was okay but very very rarely does anyone ever make that anymore. Jazz is fine.

I’m listening to music from WWII era and it had a purpose, it had good musicians, and people who could sing. Compared to the stuff today, I just feel that there is no good music anymore. Of course, some video games have excellent orchestrated pieces and are beautiful.

How about you give me a link showing that rappers have supposedly been clear about that difference.

This article notes that the terms rap and hip-hop are almost interchangeable, with rap being considered to be an integral component of hip-hop. Though opinions are different.

I’ve seen nothing stating that rap can’t tell a story or have meaning while hip-hop can. There is clear evidence to the contrary.

But you’re wrong!

Rap or hip-hop can have a meaning. I could argue that current rap has a meaning, just that a lot of it is perverted.

Would it qualify as smut then?
