Good. Now just write it into a book and get it published.

Yeah good luck with that, getting it publish is a pain.

To all Waypoint users, what language out there that you don’t speak in is your favorite? Mine of course is German, the way its spoken and sounds is just very epic in my opinion. I think another reason why I like that language is probably because I’m of German decent.

Welsh.

What, it’s over? Oh man… that story never made any sense… it was still fun, though.

I cam a bit late on it… I saw my first post in the story: Gandalf the Pink.I see it also left out the part about me being eaten…

> I cam a bit late on it… I saw my first post in the story: Gandalf the Pink.I see it also left out the part about me being eaten…

I only gathered the posts that have exactly three words in them. Perhaps later I may fine-tune it to take three words on the first line of the post and discard all others. Probably not worth it though.

The gaps are where ‘invalid posts’ are.

And you said you did “nothing” while I was out. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is it strange that my parents’ house is cooler over all than my apartment ever was? Despite the fact my parents’ house is notably more inland and south, and my apartment was a short drive to the beach…? Not complaining though, hot apartments aren’t fun.

I understand… that entire tale was invalid! XD

But, in other news… exams are out of the way.
Courses are finished for the summer.
WEEEEEEEEEEEE

So… been a while…

I realized yesterday that I pretty much completely dropped the project without thinking about it and decided to work on it more. For comparison, this is (sort of) where I started from. I say sort of because there’s actually work done on that particular bit in comparison to when I started yesterday, but it’s close enough to where I started.

… I think I’ve made good progress. Next step (aside from fixing the chin a bit) is Chiefs visor.

EDIT: Actually there’s more blending to do around the nose (I may completely redo the nose, but as that’s a lot of work I probably wont) and eyelashes to add in (among other things) but it’s mostly finished.

Russian. It seems like a very poetic language. Totally not biased by being of Russian descent or anything >_>. German is another one I’d wish to learn as well. Mainly because of my German heritage and the fact that it would be cool to speak to my grandparents in the language they grew up using.

woaaaaaaah. Thats awesome, Silent! What are you using to make this? Its coming out really well.

What program is that, does it have a mac version, and do I have to buy it? I’ve always loved drawing by hand but Im inclined to give it a try on a computer or iPad…

Russian.

The alphabet is weird as hell, and the language sounds awesome.

Italian has always been pretty interesting to me.

You lucky -Yoink!-!

I finished my last, or second-to-last, exam today. Unfortunately, there’s a possibility of a misadministration. -Yoink!-ing classmates! If I have to take that damn thing again, I think I’ll just kill myself!

Sorry, had to vent.

Thanks! It was done in an assortment of programs. The current version is photoshop (I have the trial as I was using it for an art course) and it’s been the most intuitive to use thus far, but previous work was done entirely in Sketchbook and GIMP (both of which are available for Mac).

Sketchbook you can get for the iPad. There’s free versions (but there’s not much to them) and there’s the Pro version which in my experience is a very good program (I’ve used the free versions for basic sketching on my mac, and the Pro version on the iPad). GIMP unfortunately is Mac/Linux/Windows only, but it’s free and a very capable substitute for photoshop.

And that’s why I’m homeschooling (among other things, like the fact that the country I’m living in is tiny and full of awful schools). Unfortunately that means I’m doing schoolwork over the summer, but as all my friends are out of country it’s not like I’ll be doing much anyway…

I don’t even know how i would get started with this… I feel like I need a stylus for my iPad and GIMP. How much is it do you know and is it easy enough where I can just pick it up and start drawing?

You’ll definitely need a stylus of some kind for your iPad (they don’t cost much) or a Digital Tablet of some kind (I’m using an Intuos) for GIMP. The intuos tablet will take some getting used to, as you’re drawing on a tablet beside your computer and it feels weird to have something happen on the screen while you’re drawing somewhere else (detailed accuracy is difficult at first), but it didn’t take me too long to get the hang of it. The iPad art should be fairly easy to pick up as you’re physically drawing on the screen.

Basically though, if you’re good at sketching before hand (I wasn’t) you should be able to pick it up fairly quickly. I had the grace of needing to re-learn how to actually draw anything (as I had never done any serious drawings) so it took me quite some time before I could make anything remotely decent.

Good for you!

And I mean that in that you don’t have to deal with people who can’t shut up! On the other hand, well, the highlighted part…

Homeschooling sounds fun! It never appealed to me until now, despite work over summers.

Thats pretty cool. I do have experience with doing complex drawings but I mainly work with pencil as my medium and hardly color because I can’t blend it as well as pencil. I feel if I’m working on an iPad I won’t have that problem since if I make a mistake, it isn’t permanent.

Is this app in the app store and whats it labeled as? I’m gonna download it now while this is on my mind.

Yup, it’s in the appstore, called “Sketchbook”. I’d recommend getting the free version first (it works like regular pencil sketching, or close enough) to see how it works and buying the Pro version if you like it. The advantages of the pro version being a colour wheel to work with (where the free version only offers a very limited selection).

As for blending, I’m the same way. It’s far easier to digital paint than anything else because it’s simple to undo and redo, whereas actual painting/colouring etc is very often a need for perfection at every turn.

It’s bliss, let me tell yah. I’ve completed two full one credit courses in one week. The ability to work at your own pace and actually use the full six hours a day (that in regular school is usually spent by the teacher working with the students instead of actual work and learning being done) is great.

Awesome. Just downloaded it actually. Any recommendations on precise stylus’ that won’t scratch my screen or break?

You are making me want to bust out the tablet and do some painting. Someday I’ll get a new model…mmm high PPI.
