Relax, I’m more angry for the guy that I was watching than anything else.

But I’m gonna have to disagree with you when you say that Destiny has already proved itself. I’ll admit I loved the beta but I think it’s a good idea to reserve out judgment.

And which of my points were wrong?. I said it was messed up and it is, it’s a bad direction to take a games DLC in. I said it was a cash grab and I don’t think I have to argue why it is.

Bashing’s a bit harsh of a word don’t you think? Just because Destiny is a game with a bright future doesn’t mean that I’m going to be on board with every business decision.

I also have no idea where this thought of me wanting Destiny replacing COD came from. The fact that it’s COD is irreverent. It’s the idea behind this kind of DLC that makes me angry and it disappoints me to see something with so much potential stoop to it especially when it hasn’t given me a reason to tolerate it.

I’d been in bed for about 4 hours at the time I made that post aha. Finally fell asleep about 6 o’clock.

if i can’t remember right business things are the guys at activision handling.

you said that destiny hadn’t even proved itself to be a decent game? though the beta was not at the level of borderlands it has definitely proven to be more than a decent game.

as i said the game took 500 mill to create and market plus printing disc and such would also cost money, i don’t think destiny will sell as much as gta 5 so i would see dlc coming down the line, free dlc would be awesome but the money put into this ip makes it hard i guess and thats why we see poop stuff like this happening.

343 did it mountain dew which made me a little angry since they don’t sell mountain dew in norway but its all about business and making money in the end of the day. i agree with you that i don’t like stuff like this but i accept it, as i wrote to you is this really a shock? no i knew bungie would do some poop stuff like this.

and with the cash grab point do you mean that the dlc cost like 20$?

@Mega, 4j studios twitter.

LoL Destiny is OK nothing new and nothing amazing…it is fun…there it has something. Also using EA games to justify cross game preorders…lol.

It is a cashgrab.

The beta gave me a peak at a bad story, all of the game mechanics and a VERY dead feeling world.

All of it has been done before, Bungie’s last good game was H2.

good opinion i guess.

i think the story sounds a little cheesy, i don’t know since i really enjoyed the beta and i think if they fix some stuff that will make the game very good when it comes out. and i really see a lot of potential! more than halo 5 at least…

> if i can’t remember right business things are the guys at activision handling.

Why do you feel I need to point that out? I stated I was angry about the idea of it. Who gave you the idea I was angry at Bungie or anyone else in particular? It’s a disappointment to see a franchise with such potential stoop to this and you’re right, if I’m gonna blame anyone for this isolated incident it’s Activision.

> you said that destiny hadn’t even proved itself to be a decent game? though the beta was not at the level of borderlands it has definitely proven to be more than a decent game.

You’re talking about a game that hasn’t been released yet. If you want to base your judgment of a game’s quality based on it’s beta alone that’s fine for you but don’t be surprised that others are gonna reserve their judgment for the complete product.

> as i said the game took 500 mill to create and market plus printing disc and such would also cost money, i don’t think destiny will sell as much as gta 5 so i would see dlc coming down the line, free dlc would be awesome but the money put into this ip makes it hard i guess and thats why we see poop stuff like this happening.

There are better ways to make money than desperate attempts like this.

I’m disappointed more than anything, not shocked. You’re right when you say that moves like this are predictable but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be against them just because I saw them coming.

And if you knew it was coming than why weren’t you expecting people to be ticked off about it? Why are you in such a shock that I’d be angry about this?

> and with the cash grab point do you mean that the dlc cost like 20$?

This kind of DLC is attempt to squeeze out as much money from a product as possible while also trying shoehorn in another product at the same time and if that isn’t a desperate cash grab when they should be concentrating on making a game that will make back it’s own money than I don’t know what a cash grab.

This DlC was made to sell COD pre-orders instead of making DLC that would help create a better game that could be successful on it’s own and stand on it’s own legs and it sucks to see Destiny do something like this.

Thanks man you’re saving me a lot of time with this heads up.

Soon everyone will pay for over priced bread! EVERYONE! And pumpkin pie too!

Disagree 100% 343i is not being greedy and limiting themselves in the last gen. 343i listens to us an H5G has some of the greatest potential on the market.

@Mega, No problem…Warframe is also on X1…it is an awesome f2p.

I vote doing away with homework. Seniors get just enough to feel stressed out.

> and i really see a lot of potential! more than halo 5 at least…

Really, you’re one of those guys?
We barely know anything about Halo 5 and you’re saying that you think it doesn’t have as much potential, it’s a completely unfair statement. We don’t know if 343 will keep Halo 5 like previous games,or make it more open, we don’t know what they’ll do, obviously you won’t see as much potential because you don’t know what it’s like yet, like the rest of us.

I understand that you think Destniy’s good and all but at least wait to see actual Halo 5 footage, and learn more about it.

Destiny = Skyrim

Selling based off a devoted fan base who will eat all the -Yoink- the company throws out and mass marketing to win over almost the entire casual population. Even if they don’t buy it, they will spread the word.

This.

I’ll have to admit, the amount of fanboy-ism over that game is a bit off putting. Hype is inevitable for any release by a AAA studio, but there seems to be an extraordinary amount with this game. You can’t even make a legitimate complaint without some one coming to the game’s defense and tearing you to shreds. Sigh. Brand loyalty can be a scary thing sometimes.

ok i just made a new post since i suck a little bit at that quoting stuff.

so ill just replie everything here.

yes its good that we are on the same page about activision doing such moves to make them richer! bungie can’t really do nothing about it. something you proboly already know.
did i say you was angry? i don’t recall that.
And if you knew it was coming than why weren’t you expecting people to be ticked off about it? Why are you in such a shock that I’d be angry about this?
I’m not shocked about you being angry about it just that you gotta understand its a business move and its ok to be angry but keep it to yourself but don’t be like I’m disappointed and stuff. i also was angry about it and posted it on the bungie forums not exactly what we are talking about now but stuff like this. so i can sort of see where you’re coming from but its business and thats how it works

and also we haven’t seen what the dlc even is so it might not be a cash grab.

@sacredstrangler am i one of those guys?
its not about the gameplay or footage its just that i see more potential in destiny, it might be that i actually prefer halo 5 over destiny so its just that i think it has more potential.
btw i didn’t really care about destiny until i saw the beta and thought ´i have to get this´

I understand that Destiny is being over hyped, but why all the hate? Is it Activision? Is it Bungie? I think the game looks promising and fun so far. I think it will keep me occupied until the MCC and the rest of the games of November come out.

Even though it’s not that great, it will be fun, and that is all that matters. It will keep people occupied until other games roll around coming up late this year and throughout next year.

You guys have to admit, you are being a bit critical. The situation could be worse.

i don’t think so many people are hating the game( maybe the ones who thought bungie are -Yoinks!- for leaving halo) but as sarcasm bully said, a lot of people are just saying opinions and trying to help bungie but then someone comes around and call you a hater.

I don’t think there is much hate at all, really. The feedback has been overly positive. The major thing I’ve noticed is that any complaint, however major or minor, gets trivialized and trampled on any forum. It’s happening on Bnet, twitter, and Gaf. It’s just a bit off putting.

Some criticism is always inevitable. Whether it’s over DLC, exclusives, content, rank limits, or weapon trading… it’s going to happen. Happens with all games. I think just the zealous nature of the fans is all I was noting. Happens here too. Just wish things could be discussed in a more civil way, without regressing to trivializing of legitimate complaints.

As gamers, we should be more united. Unfortunately, people align themselves with companies or brands, and not with each other. It’s not just limited to games. Just start a discussion over cell phones and watch what happens. It’s almost like people need to justify their own choices by belittling others choices.

Opinions are fine. It’s when people say the fanbase is wrong for liking the game is when I get ticked off.

Destiny is not a bad game. I feel it’s a step towards better games for the new generation of consoles. It will give other developers ideas and make the upcoming years fantastic and fun.

The hate can also be from people simply not liking the game from what they’ve seen. There will always be the people who hate things because they are popular.
