The Official Off-topic Thread 7

I had a hilarious argument because someone said Halo sucks.

He said no customization, not enough weapons, no skill, and lack of 'care package.

Funny thing is how this was coming from a PS only guy who only plays CoD.

I don’t want to live on this world anymore.

After asking him which ‘Halo’ he saw, the person stalled for a minute just to think. He said Halo 6…

/facepalm and rant

Yep, he is back.
Beware the terminator.

It’s not that these kinda people don’t play these games is what annoys me, what annoys me is that these people persist that these games suck, when they haven’t even played it! Like, REALLY? I’m talking in general now.

Reveal event is September 9th!

Hopefully the battery is a lot better this time round. I don’t need a bigger screen or anything like that, just better battery life.

i was tempted to get it, but rather save it for Destiny Ghost Edition, but from i heard from Austin, its an “iffy”. As for US Football, its a pretty crazy sport, and also competitive b/c my bros and i have rivalry teams, lol

OT: Having a Budweiser now and watching some NFL reviews with my cousins…ugh…i want MCC now, :frowning: .

> My iPhone 4 is pretty pitiful, but at the time was quite a fancy doo-dad. So I take it by this that there are Lumia phones with larger screens, that are also more durable at the same time, and the same quality out put on the screen?(movies, etc?)

> I very much like the simplicity of the Apple home pages(everything is super easy to locate and differentiate) - but you’re right in saying that it’s pretty bland you can only drag them into folders. On my 4 I can’t even make new/custom folders to organize my icons. I am stuck with 4 or 5 “pre set” folder types to put everything into. This is probably my biggest beef with my iPhone. And one of the better selling points of a WP.
>
>
> When my 4 was new it was very fast and crisp. As it has begun to degrade, it becomes less and less so. How do WPs compare? My 4 lasted roughly 2 years before it began it’s slide down the slippery slope of iPhone death.

> I never would have considered going offline to save data. Probably because I don’t know how to do so manually on my iPhone. Hahaha. I have no idea how big the plan is, that I have(shared with parents) but it seems plenty large enough to oblige 3 iPhones and a Motorola Droid without reaching limit(unless my dad has big uploads for work on his Droid).
>

> “Cortana” is not enough to sell me on a phone, no.(That’s like saying I’m only buying an iPhone for iTunes…) But don’t get me wrong, it is definitely cool. It’s just not a feature that makes me go “AMG I NEED A WP!!”.
>

> How are WPs when it comes to apps? What is available? Does it have a task manager where you can “kill” apps you don’t want running in the background? (Or something similar). How often do they need charged? How comfortable are they to hold? Are there protective cases out there?(Can’t say I’ve seen many, if any at all…) How do they hold up to LONG distance travel? By which I mean going from country to country? This possibly depends on the carrier and plan in place, but I am definitely tired of my iPhone being an almost useless hunk of metal when I visit the UK.

  1. Windows Phones come in a range of sizes: The largest is the Nokia Lumia 1520, which packs a six-inch screen. All Nokia Lumias are sturdily built and have good displays.

  2. I’ve only had my Lumia 520 for about a year, so I couldn’t really say how well Windows Phones hold up over long periods of time. However, as I stated above, they’re very high-quality devices.

  3. As for Windows Phone apps, right now the Windows Phone store has over 300,000 apps with all the basics covered. You’ll find all the most important apps available on WP, unless you have some very specific apps you need that are only available on iOS. However, developers are beginning to support Windows Phone more and more, so I’d say that the “app gap” is basically not a problem any more.

  4. Yep, Windows Phone has good multitasking and task managing options. Using the Battery Sense feature, you can adjust exactly which apps you do or don’t want running in the background.

  5. The comfort factor of Windows Phones varies between models; however, on the whole, they’re pretty well designed. Mine has been good to use. Protected cases are usually available for Lumias, not so much for other Windows Phones (except the HTC One).

  6. As for international use, I haven’t really tried using my phone overseas. I’d imagine it does support roaming service, though that’d mainly be up to the carrier and data plan.

Any other questions? I’ll try to answer them.

Remember when being a fanboy just meant that you were passionate about a specific thing, but weren’t biased against others? No? Me neither…

Oooooh god… I must’ve hit a wrong button or mispelled a guest to my gamenight’s name on an invite… and he missed it… I feel awful right now. AWFUL.

You’re a monster! He was probably so excited, just sitting by his Xbox and waiting for an invite that never came. You disgust me. Mods, ban ComicBeast! Permanently!

T-T

Well, here’s his reply from Xbox Message after I sent a sincere apology:

I feel better now.

Actually I don’t think so! You’ve been very helpful. I’ll have to poke more into the long term usage/time it takes to degrade the hardware. I’ll also ask my carrier how International use works and what it does to the plan I’m currently on.

Wait actually one more question! I know the screen size of some of the larger models(I was eyeing Nokia models in particular). Do they fit well into your back pocket? Assuming you wear jeans anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a terrible habit of shoving my iPhone into my back pocket. More than once it has nearly fallen into the toilet this way.

He’s obviously crushed on the inside. You see “no problem” while I see a plea for acceptance…

In other news, I didn’t know people still play Oblivion.

So I just found out through the Catalog thread that Sergeant Byrne died. I was kinda hoping he’d make another appearance somewhere.

I always wear jeans:)

The 6-inch Lumia 1520 definitely won’t fit in your pocket, but most of the other Lumia models should fit comfortably enough in your pocket.

Good to know. Though I’m not sure how womens jeans pockets differ from mens jeans pockets in size. I really need to make a conscious effort to not shove my phones into my pocket - no matter what brand or model it is. I’m one of those people who may end up losing it because I stick it in my pocket, hah.

Actually, I vaguely remember. During those days I would’ve been proud to call myself a Halo fanboy, because I’m passionate about the series, but I wasn’t biased against others. I loved to play Halo as well as games like Gears, TES, Fallout & others. & I’m still very passionate about the franchise, despite the hardships it’s been through. But hey, once you hit the bottom, the only way is up.

But now? The meaning of fanboy has changed, they’ve gone from passionate to toxic. I find the worst types of fanboys now to be the console fanboys, by being a console fanboy you’re restricting yourself from playing a large number of games on the other systems. As far as I’m aware, being a gamer isn’t about heavily favouring one system, & then being biased over the others, to me, that’s just sad.

I finished this college wuarter (at last! it felt for ever). I will enjoy playing online with my new, awesome, and improved internet speed.

And the downside is, that stupid mushrom permanetly damaged my Halo 4 disc and I can’t still pay for Gold.

Just bought this, Looks fun.

> Just bought this, Looks fun.

Looks hard to me I could never do Rubik’s cubes.

> So I just found out through the Catalog thread that Sergeant Byrne died. I was kinda hoping he’d make another appearance somewhere.

Yeah don’t ask about characters with Catalog, his posts are the most deadly weapon in the Halo Universe.
