I really want it but dat price tag tho… I’m planning on getting parallels with Windows 8 as well. After using a Mac as my personal computer and Windows at work, I can safely say, Microsoft Office is crap on a Mac. If you ever want to do something professional with those applications, do it on a Windows.

That sounds great, :D. Yet, indeed the pricing for MacBook Pros are mind blowing, lol. I may look into one myself, even though im not a big Apple fan, I want to use it for editing and animation. As for Windows, I have to agree, if you want to work with professional applications, Windows is the best (I work big on MS Office Visio Professional and that is amazing on the 8). I gotta say, its funny, my father and I were just talking about MS Office working badly on the Mac. Told him, that’s one reason why I wouldn’t want to do work on the Apple, b/c I use Office all the time, :). BTW, are you still a student, b/c where I am, you can get a discount on computers.

Afternoon.I would love a Mac but I don’t think my missus would like it to much just wish they would come down in price but I can’t see that happening.

From what I heard, Windows is very “techie-friendly” in big companies and businesses. If anyone goes towards the entertainment/media fields, I believe they mostly use Apple, but that’s just my opinion.

@Candy - Parallels is another app people use frequently to run Windows on a Mac. Personally, I’m more familiar with it.

I love apple and have gotten use to it over the years. For my personal computer, I always go Mac but ever since I got a job that requires me to use Microsoft Outlook and religiously use Microsoft Excel, I’ve decided I need to be able to run Windows on my Mac. I now need to learn about anti virus software which is annoying…

I think I may get Spartan Assault on my computer too so I can be 25 achievements closer to having every Halo achievement :stuck_out_tongue: All that remains is a spartan assault on a windows phone and a glitched achievement in Halo 4.

I am still a student and have gotten a discount in the past. I’m curious how much it is, its been a while since I bought a computer.

Excel and Outlook, yeah…you’ll definitely need to work on Windows for those two, tbh. I use them as well, along with Visio and Word, but its so fun using Excel. Keeps my stuff organized, :D. For the Anti-Virus software, go for either Norton or McAfee. I tend to stick to Norton, but I heard McAfee is the best, :).

SA on Windows 8.1 is incredible, yet, im not so big with playing on the keyboard, lol.

For discounts, I think it would be cheaper, yet, if its a Mac, Im not too sure how much they’ll turn out.

My programs are better kept up to date on windows.

I don’t want a MAC even if somebody gave me one for free. I just can seem to work with it. And believe me I have tried

I love excel. I’ve gotten really good at it in the past two years. I was able to build a spreadsheet that assists me schedule 100+ employees through COUNTIF statements and a lot of Index matching. I’ll check out both of them, I already know of Norton. How much do they usually cost?

I’m hoping for any kind of discount I can get seeing as this is going to cost 2-3 thousand… Not a cheap expenditure, but I was able to make my current computer last 4 years, I just need to do that again if not longer.

Funny

How many time do people say here:

Greg Bear was liked by most or almost all Halo Fans that read it

Karen Traviss Wasn’t liked by most Halo fans

Halo CE is widely considered the best Halo MP

Halo 2 Had the best OST everybody thinks that

Nobody Likes Sprint

Have we ever had a real HUGE test for the community to determine any of these statements or the others that are thrown around here. Not really measurable of course PLUS It’s al opinion of course but it just makes me laugh

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare looks… interesting. Especially that MP snippet.

Hope you like Jetpacks!

> Greg Bear was liked by most or almost all Halo Fans that read it

I liked his books.

> Karen Traviss Wasn’t liked by most Halo fans

I like her books too and I think most people just complain for the sake of complaining over anything (common human behavior)

> Halo CE is widely considered the best Halo MP

I mever really like the mechanics, movement, or, well, pretty much most of how it played.

> Halo 2 Had the best OST everybody thinks that

ODST.

> Nobody Likes Sprint

I do.

TBH, I loved the old Macs back in the 90’s where, it was easier to fix. Now, they are so smooth and so delicate, that if something goes wrong, you have to send it back to get it fixed, which that part, I feel uncomfortable with. It is also my number #1 problem I have with Macs.

I actually Pre-ordered it, b/c it looks pretty good. Yet, and most would agree, the best COD’s were the ones that took place during World War 2. Boy, I really miss the M1-Garands, :D.

Yeah, love working with the spreadsheets,

As for the Anti-Virus Software, Downloads tend to be cheaper, but Prices may vary:
McAfee
Norton

And it equally seems people who like one thing dismiss any and all criticism of said thing they liked by saying those who don’t like it just complain for no reason (common human behavior).

Aren’t generalizations fun?

This.

Whenever you criticize anything that other people like, you open yourself and the things you like to the same criticism. We all like “stuff”. Your likes and dislikes are just as valid as those that prefer the exact opposite. Please be respectful of each others opinions.

ughh both of those are subscription based. I really hate that model. I think I’d rather not buy virus protection and just never surf the web while I’m using the PC portion.

Have you ever tried system Mechanic I find them quite good.

I respect criticism and other people’s opinions. What I don’t like is complaining. Like when somebody repeatedly talks about how they don’t like her writing about food. I mean, whats wrong about that?

And there are things I don’t like about her books as well, is not like I agree with everything. Unfortunately, talking about what I really dislike about it is not really allowed to be discussed in these forums.

And to clear things up again. Criticism is perfect. Midless complaining such as “this sucks. Period” without any kind of elaboration is what I don’t like, as it doesn’t give much constructive feedback.

Couldn’t this be said initially rather than hand-waving people’s criticisms as “complaining to complain”? People who blindly hate something and people who blindly adore something do hurt constructive feedback. Saying “I like X, I don’t know why people don’t like X as well” and “I hate X, I don’t understand why people like X” represent the same fundamental problem of failing to actually take heed of the arguments presented for or against something and just brushing them off as pointless, a tactic I sadly see becoming more prevalent on Waypoint.

I really want it but dat price tag tho… I’m planning on getting parallels with Windows 8 as well. After using a Mac as my personal computer and Windows at work, I can safely say, Microsoft Office is crap on a Mac. If you ever want to do something professional with those applications, do it on a Windows.

For my personal computer, I always go Mac but ever since I got a job that requires me to use Microsoft Outlook and religiously use Microsoft Excel, I’ve decided I need to be able to run Windows on my Mac. I now need to learn about anti virus software which is annoying…

For the Anti-Virus software, go for either Norton or McAfee. I tend to stick to Norton, but I heard McAfee is the best, :).

Yeah. That’s the only downside of it, but I believe you can cancel your subscription if you don’t feel satisfied with it. Yet, the pop-ups once your subscription is up, gets annoying, lol.
