Hey. Let’s just drop it.
> Any death by dog attack or a very serious attack would make the news regardless of breed. This is just a quick search I did. I have nothing against pits and neighbor even has one, but they are damn random and quick to attack. Sure, I know there are ones out there that are lovable and have been family pet for years and years with no incident, most of them will be this way. But they have a more random and shorter temper fuse, it seems :-/
Want to know what will likely bring down that “randomness” and short fuse? Better training and better breeding for better temperaments. The bulldog was in a similar situation a long time ago and were breed to latch onto the noses of bulls to bring then down. Yet most seem content to just ban and kill pit bulls when the solutions to make them better are there.
There are currently 117 pages in the Polling booth forum section as of now.
So sad, it seems this thread has gone to the dogs
It only took playing the intro mission of Destiny to miss Cortana and even listening to Spark as a companion. I hope the changes to Ghost are massive…

How about Rottweilers? They were the “bully breed of choice” back in the day.(Several decades ago). If you go back and do your research Cream, you will find that the media LOVES TO PREY on certain “bully breed” and working breed dogs. There’s a trend. It shifted from Rottiess to Pitbulls not that long ago(relatively speaking). Before Rottweilers it was Dobermans. Boxers even received a short period to be the medias breed of choice. In a few years the shift will probably happen again, as people continue to work to educate about the nature of the pitbull breed and how to appropriately raise and care for it.
German Shepards, Huskies, Chow Chows and Great Danes have been previously listed as being in the top nine for reported insurance claims for dog bites. This article has a lot of good information, and a very clear stand on the matter. Certain breeds have stronger bites, and may need a much more responsible and firm owner. But this does not inherently make the dog a dangerous animal.
My ex-roommate and friend for nearly a decade breeds dogs with her mother. They also show them. She has done this since she was 5 years old, and has TONS of experience with HUNDREDS of different dog breeds. She would tell you right off the bat that pitbulls are not “vicious” and do not “maul and maim” adults and children “all the time”. What she WOULD tell you is that from her research and her experience with hundreds of breeders and owners across the globe is that German Shepherds bite more often than “bully breeds” do.
You might ask, “Well how come I never hear of these supposed German Sheps biting all these people on the news?”. Doodle and Cobra have already said it - the media sensationalism from pitbull attacks is far too great. Oh, somebody’s teen was bitten by their retriever and their hand will need serious therapy for years to come because of the damage. Must’ve just been acting stupid or frightened the animal. Oh no somebody got bitten by a pitbull! THE BREED MUST BE RESTRICTED!!
It’s bull. No pun intended. If you can’t raise the breed appropriately then don’t get one. Certain people should NEVER be allowed to own certain breeds of dogs simply because they CAN’T train or control them properly. You can’t train or control a dog if you can’t assert yourself into that particular breeds frame of mind and understand what you as the person need to do in order to provide the animal with the guidance necessary to shape it the way you want it to be.
I own a Basenji. She is also part Boxer. She is 100% 45 pounds of SOLID MUSCLE and could EASILY rip the skin off my arm if she wanted to. She is incredibly stubborn(Basenji). But she is one of the best animals I’ve ever had the pleasure sharing companionship with. She needs a VERY firm discipline hand in order to teach her good behaviors and let her know which behaviors we don’t find acceptable. Certain breeds need a VERY, very firm and consistent discipline from their alpha. And some breeds do not,and are incredibly agreeable to a relaxed and aloof discipline life but will still follow your every word. Dogs like this tend to train more easily(unless you spoil them into believing they can get away with it. Then you need to bring out the discipline a bit).
Really cannot stress enough how important it is that people get dogs that they KNOW they can raise and care for and train properly. NOT all dogs are suited for all people. It is JUST as important to socialize, socialize, socialize, and MORE socializing! It’s like socializing children. The more you take them out while young, the more they see, know, do, hear, and learn the better behaved and more well adjusted they will be to every day life and the comings and goings of humans in their territory.
TL;DR bully breeds are picked on by the media. Train them right, assist in breeding in good behaviors and breeding out bad ones. Problem solved.
Just watched RVB’s new episode. Awesome!
And who’s excited to see the Nightfall teaser?

I really can’t wait. Knowing Ridley Scott is involved in a way makes me hope Nightfall is terrifying at some point. Floor FTW.
Meh… the latest RvB wasn’t exactly that great in my opinion. Animation was good. But they are using the Enforcer helmet for evil! D:

The thing that made me like it was all the AIs showing up.

“Chief! Watch out! It’s… THE FLOOR!”
Nah, we all make typos. I know I’ve made ones that make it seem like I change my point of view on something in one sentence. Or that I’m just a complete idiom.
