It actually turns out that the person in the commercials was coated in Marshmallow Fluff.

The weirdness… It burns.

throws a bucket of water over you. Well it was definitely weird, XD.

Grats to Cizlin! It does take hard work and time, but he’s always cheerful and energetic.

Have any of you heard about the tortoise that was brutally killed 3 days ago in Florida? It makes me terribly angry and sad…goodness knows what other animal cruelty crimes are committed and never found out about. Quite a terrible thing, turtles and tortoises make wonderful pets.

Destiny is so much fun!

> Destiny is so much fun!

Stop teasing us with your PS4ness.

I could also ‘fire shots’ at the other side. However talking about this a lot would lead to a lot of conflict and unconstructive thing.

So I’ll talk about the past. Waypoint used to be my favourite forum. Why? It wasn’t a big community, I knew it would get bigger and I knew the best-forum-thing would eventually end, but I didn’t expect a few things. So anyways, waypoint used to be close, friendly. You guys talked about community leaders. What was it? The 343i industries employees used to do the moderation on the forums and it was very good. But community leaders were just people who were picked out because they were already leading the community, being examples to follow, doing stuff. It wasn’t a position of power, but a position of leadership. For instance, cruel legacey became a community leader thanks to his activity on waypoint such as hosting the at the time famous race nights and stuff. The community playdates were fairly common, I forgot the original name but they used to be called waypoint community carnage night at some point. Bs angel, used to join the playdates fairly often.

There were lots of jokes, fun and stuff. For instance, playing on a 45 degree map, there was the, that map is banned. There were nice giveaways sometimes. I remember this waypoint tournament where the were participation prizes offered by bs angel. Winners got a bigger price. I didn’t win… I also remember this cross-community event where many communities faced each other. Sadly, waypoint’s roster didn’t have a lot of people so we didn’t do so good but it was nice. There was also a friendly waypoint vs bungie.net match on reach, but it was friendly and stuff. There were activities and stuff. We also had taken this big waypoint community picture where people lined up for screenshot.

It’d help if the threads were still accessible but a lot of them are gone. So the people. People on waypoint were generally happy, fun. There wasn’t a lot of the anger that happens now. Lots of, closeness. It’s bard to convey through words and memory. But it was just, such a nice place. I remember saying, “welcome to waypoint! Please be respectful, constructive, civilized and most importantly, have fun.” and stuff like that.

343i also interacted with the forum quite a lot. Before bs angel, cocopjojo and xGlyphX managed the forum I think. But Alison was there sometimes, vociferous too, David Ellis, verohime. Having a discussion with 343i was simple, easy. I do remember maybe before December 2010, just going back and forth with bs angel and then talking about how we both had the same avatar. We have catalog now but for a while there wasn’t much, except before. Vociferous would indeed come in and post. There was a lot of communication and interaction between 343i and waypoint. And the reclaimers. We actually voted for a name for the waypoint community and reclaimers won. It was this combination of these things and others that made waypoint such a great place. Activities, community, community leaders, friendliness, close knitness, fairness, able to be relaxed. The forums were on beta, and gamma and stuff, but it was just so nice.

Then there was an influx of people, 343i became more distant, things changed, stuff happened, so on and so on. I feel things on waypoint went bad and I probably would have left had I not been already so invested in waypoint. It would probably leave me forumless and communityless except for factpile maybe, I think. I think things are getting better in some aspects, the presence of catalog is nice and helps. But, will that waypoint spirit come back? Maybe not but I don’t think it hurts to try. At least I can post my drawings here and share them for those who want to read my long posts I make! For those who want to.

> Destiny is so much fun!

wails NO! MUST PLAY DESTINY!!!

clears throat then again, we all know why Bungie did that, :(.

> Been too long since I’ve been on Waypoint…

Hi, how have you been? Long time no see.

RoosterTeeth uploaded Fails of the Weak 200 but…

There’s absolutely no Halo. Kind of disappointing how Fails of the Weak was always a Halo series and they completely left Halo out for the 200 mark, this is just GameFails with commentary now and not HaloFails.

Things don’t last forever, Erick. That was the early stages of Waypoint before 343 had even released their first game (aside from CEA but that’s not much of a 343i title). You’re going to have to let go of that, of course there can be more interaction between developer and community and the community can change but Halo Waypoint isn’t going to be as small as it once was. And we have a group of very active users.

I’ve been here since that old bright blue layout 2 years ago, but wasn’t here as long as you was. Would have loved to experience Waypoint’s beginnings. The community will change throughout it’s time.

I agree. Ive been here for almost 3 yrs myself, yet ive seen many changes, and i can assure you waypoint will continue to grow,

Damn, now that i said almost 3 years…i feel old, :frowning:

Yep. I love the Exo race.

Also, Bungie confirmed today that your character can transfer back and forth between console generations, I know some of you were asking about that.

How is the gameplay? Is the character customization good? What is your favorite class? What is the most enemies you’ve fought in one fight? What enemies have you fought so far? What is the hardest enemy you’ve encountered so far? What is your least favorite thing about the game? What is your favorite thing about the game?

Sorry for the long list of questions.

I’m sad I wasn’t here to experience the things you are describing, but on the bright side, we get to have new fun times, like Comic’s gamenights or Catalog answering lore questions, and in the months leading up to halo 5’s releases we may see an increase in 343i’s community interaction. Until then, at least you can talk to your friends in the off topic thread

They took Halo out of fails of the week!?!

> How is the gameplay?

Gameplay is like Borderlands in that it’s generic FPS gameplay, but you have a special attack ability with its cooldown. Each class is different, and each class has it’s own special movement ability as well.

> Is the character customization good?

You start by choosing your class (it tells you their specials before you select). You then select your race and gender. There are Humans, the Awoken (Space Elves) and the Exo (robots). After that you can choose your facial features (hair, tattoos, etc). That’s it for customization outside of your armor.

> What is your favorite class?

I’ve only played the Hunter so far in both the Alpha and Beta, and know that’s what I’m going with in the final build, but I’ll get around to the other classes later this week.

> What is the most enemies you’ve fought in one fight?

In free roam, you’ll come across squads of around 6 pretty frequently. In actual missions, I’ve been swarmed with at least 10 some times. In Strikes, you can encounter upwards of 15-20 at once.

> What enemies have you fought so far?

Beta only includes Old Russia, so you’ll find The Fallen and Hive factions there. Each have their own subclasses in them. When I first encountered the Hive, I was swarmed by almost 10 of melee class and failed the mission.

> What is the hardest enemy you’ve encountered so far?

Ogre, easily. That’s because you can’t kill them. Bungie placed them so you can’t get to certain areas in the Beta

> What is your least favorite thing about the game?

Least favorite? Hmmm, not really sure. I haven’t put too much time into it yet. You can’t sell items, that’s something I’m not a fan of, you can only break them down into a few pieces of currency.

> What is your favorite thing about the game?

I haven’t tried MP yet, so I can’t say anything about it, but right now, it’s probably this.

> Sorry for the long list of questions.

No problem.

Alright, just did my first PvP match. That was a lot of fun. Something I couldn’t say for Halo 4. It’s slightly faster than normal Halo play, but still slower than CoD. It’s not “First to shoot” wins. There were plenty of times that I would get shot first, and still be able to pull out the kill and then kill another guy right after it. Map was nice, varying lines of sight and vertical levels. Movement abilities make traversal across the maps interesting.
