Greetings, Fellow Halo Fans!
As we wait for Halo Infinite to drop its time to think about Mythic Difficulty, and you know what that means… Playing the campaign on Legendary Difficulty with ALL SKULLS ON and no deaths or saves!
I’m using this thread as a starting point for all things to come, expect, and speculate for Halo 6 Infinite MYTHIC.
If you are unfamiliar with this form of difficulty of the campaign which was first established back in Halo 3, please check out channel at
MichaelWSmith Halo Mythic Channel.
or
Legendary Smile Halo Mythic Channel
There you will see every Halo game to date beaten on MYTHIC but to give you a brief synopsis, Mythic is defined as playing each individual mission on Legendary with all skulls on without saving or dying. You heard it right. All the way through from start to finish. To help better explain,
The actual difficult of the challenge in terms of weapons and enemies has differed from game to game, but make no mistake… Team Mythic will have it conquered, and how to do it will be posted right here in this thread so that anyone who wants to experience the glory always has a place to go
Best Regards,
MichaelWSmith
Hope there’ll be an achievement for it

I have nothing against challenging games. I love Ninja Gaiden, Sekiro and the Wolfenstein Mein Leben Achievement. Bring it on imo. However there are completionists out there that don’t. Some players want to be able to get every achievement or trophy. There were players who stated they would be boycotting
Wolfenstein The New Colossus until Mein Leben was nerfed. You get my vote though.
I would love to see an achievement for it, but if there is an achievement it would likely suffer the same fate as the MCC LASO ones: checkpoints given out or people just using the save and quit method which totally devalues it. Only way around that would be a playlist which doesn’t allow any saving whatsoever
Instead there should be things like daily challenges which encourage people to dip their toe into it without potentially affecting game uptake.
i agree. back in the day when i discovered SLASO there was no achievements other than the immense sense of accomplishment. we had to record all runs with a capture card or device like a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 and submit runs to be verified.
check out some of the old style runs
Well first of all there was no mythic difficulty, skulls were just a mutator and the only thing the mythic skull did was increase the health of enemies (a common trick done to increase level difficulty). As for all skulls, there was one skull I didn’t care much because it changed the overall mechanics of the game and that was black eye. You see a lot of the other skulls affected enemies and mechanics differently but still kept them the same, famine decreased the number of ammo on weapon drops, tilt made bullet weapons less useful forcing you to scavenge for plasma weapons. Fog disabled motion tracker but had nothing to do with combat and enemy behavior. Black eye was the one that affected health systems and considering one of the major innovations to the FPS that halo had was the health systems that is a big change.

== The Quest for SLASO ==
‘‘Halo Infinite’’ it is hoped will include ,as all previous installments have, what are referred to as SKULLS to activate and alter the game experience and make it more difficult. SLASO or Solo Legendary All Skulls On has in the past been the pinnacle accomplishment and hopefully will be seen as the most challenging ever. Mythic Difficulty or SSLASO as it has been known refers to a player beating each level of the game SLASO in a Single Segment run captured on video and put on YouTube for others to see. The goal is to have a single segment video of each and every level of the game beaten in this manner. This would be referred to as beating the game on Mythic Difficulty. The Mythic Community as it has been called has been around since 2011 when Pahis Pojat was the first to complete a SLASO run. The Mythic Community is a group which was started by a man named Tyrant who started the website and coined the phrase Mythic Difficulty. Since then every Halo Installment has been defeated by a small group of enthusiasts including Tyrant, MichaelWSmith, LegendarySmile, and AuraSoldier. The Quest for SLASO was our site on the web where we would have discussions and submit our discoveries, tips, tricks, and videos of our proud accomplishments for others in our clan to enjoy. The site is no longer there but our enthusiasm remains in tact.
release date set. December 8, 2021.
I have looked into some code found on Reddit and most if not all of the skulls from Halo 3 are there.
In addition, they are discoverable throughout the levels just like in Halo 3.
