THE OFFICIAL HALO FEEDBACK THREAD

So in past Halo games we’ve had interactive multiplayer maps such as the bridge on Last Resort. How about something like that for firefight? I think the gravity cannons on instillation 04 were a great start. But how about beyond that? So here’s my idea for a firefight map. You’re on a forerunner instillation. The base of the map is a large dull gray circle. In the center there is a medium sized building. Inside you can find 4 ARs with full ammo and a button. When you press the button Zero-G is activated for 60 seconds and when it runs out you can press it again. There are also several sentinels to help you there. On the outside of the building there are 4 holes. 1 on each side. This leads to a lower level with a gravity lift next to each level to get on the surface again. Once on the lower level there are a bunch of hallways which all intersect with each other. On At the end of each hall there is a switch that the player can activate to create a light barrier. This can help direct enemy movement into a trap, pick of and separate enemies, and isolate enemies to be dealt with later. In each corner of the lower level there is a shotty with no extra clips and 2 frags. Once on the surface there is a light bridge to the North and south of the map connecting to a small platform each. The platform has 1 grenade launcher each and an AA turret similar to the wolf turret in how it takes damage and recharges. To the West and East each there is a metal bridge in a U shape with each connecting to one of the platforms connecting to the light bridge. The light bridge can be turned on/off at will unlike the metal one. But the metal one has a machine gun turret on it allowing you to defend it easily. The AA turret is capable of taking out small enemy aircraft by itself and damaging drop-ship’s turrets. Also throughout the outside of the map there are barriers a fair distance away from each other to use as cover. On the very edge of the map there is a revolving ring surrounding the whole outer edge of the map allowing for easy transportation and allows the enemy to flank the secluded platforms.

First, I want to say thanks to 343 for Halo Anniversary. Great game that still stands the test of time.

Couple things that I have concerns about.

FireFight: While Firefight is an excellent mode, I just don’t get the “OMG! I can’t believe we just survived that!” feeling. May I suggest a new mode called “Firefight Unlimited” This mode will have unlimited time, but very limited ammo, very much in line with Halo 3 ODST. Don’t care a lot for Arcade mode because everyone uses the Fuel Rod gun and blasts anything that moves. They don’t care if they die or not because we got unlimited lives. Take the model of gameplay from ODST and this should be a really good start. Limited (When you had it) was a good mode but you still had unlimited ammo at the ammo bank and you had a time limit of 30 minutes. I really enjoyed seeing just how far me and my friends could get before we were wiped out.

Offline: Please raise the offline credit cap.

Multiplayer: I love the new changes that are coming to matchmaking. I am hoping they will make it into regular team slayer very soon.
I know you are addressing this to some extent but I rarely play any of my DLC. I hope that your new algorithms truly address this problem. If they don’t, a free download of the first Map pack would be nice. Reduced price of the second, as well so more people will have them. They did it with Halo 3 and the Cold Storage map pack.

Halo 4: I am anticipating this game and hoping both the campaign as well as the multiplayer are going to be epic. Please put me down for a Beta test, if you do one. Just a suggestion on the multiplayer maps. DON’T pull directly from the campaign, PLEASE! Take themes from the campaign, like Anchor 9 is for Reach, but never a direct copy.
One last thing, if someone quits a match either fill them in with a new player, or have it be a big credit/xp/rank reduction(whichever you choose to use) for those people that quit regularly.

Hey BS Angel & 343, how u been, hope you had a great week, I had an Okay one!
By the way great ideas for the terminals in Halo CE and I think thats how it should be from now on specially for the secret terminal that I just find out a few days ago. Now I see where its all going, from ddc to wr phnx to prcrsr, its a super great Ideas, Yeah I’m well connected. Keep going where you are headed but don’t forget the Covenant, because in the end its the covenant that make Halo be Halo weither if they or some of them are allies or ennemies, its still super great to fight them and make it a ‘‘I can’t belive I just survive that’’ feeling at every time with much more speed, visual & sound effects with that amazing monk chanting breath taking score of a music that Halo lives for, Ty!

I just want to let you know on some of my thoughts on the upcoming game & trilogy.
I would love to see more of that awsome Cortana attitude, its amazing and has such an awesome flavour to the mix, plus I’ve seen the reaper weapon that looks like a Forunner Sniper, amazing idea, keep bringing us awesome new weapons like that with as much as possible customizations to it. Also I would like not only to dual weild any weapons or melee weapons even fists but here’s the twist that will make it perfect, be able to lower my second weapons without dropping it by tapping twice the bumper so I can use grenades or hold the bumper once it has finish to reload to lowered it, that would be great. Also It would be great to be able to carry at least three different weapons but the best would be 4 weapons that you could select by holding the up button on the D-pad and selecting the weapon of choice with the right joystick where up & down would be the primary weapons and Left & Right would be the Secondary Weapons.

Then the Left button on the D-pad would be for selecting the grenades & equipments usage by holding the Left Button, the right button would be for selecting the different visions the suit offers like Flashlight, night vision, enhance vision ODST Style, infrared heat vision and radar vision for when the visibility is close to o% in fog for example etc… And the down button on the D-pad would be for the suit menus where you could access locals terminals, waypoints, servers or data banks, cameras and smart linked equipments or vehicles for tacticals use and maneouvres or even be able to change the suit configuration in real time in the game like changing the shield strengh position for a particular damage or even be able to boost a particular AA for a some particular purpose at the cost of other functions just like in Section 8 the game and it could be use as a command button by holding it and using Y,X,A,B, where y would be for Retreat, X for Firing Suppor, A for Defence & Base Defence, B for Offence, that would be so awesome.

Also I would love to have different strafe style for the different species where the Elites could strafe like the Halo CE where they strafe bouncing up and down the heads after the second strafe and we could also see that slightly in the HUD and for the Spartans we could strafe by swinging vertically on each side like a flower in the wind, only slightly and for the brutes we could strafe like a polka dance where we could go beserk in the strafe just like in halo 2. Also I would love to see Jackals drop grenades when we kill them. I would also love to be able to use every sound in the games going from weapons sounds to equipments to AA to explosions, to vehicles to Sound FXs to dialogs to everything so that we could do more professionnals machinimas video for everyone to enjoy, also I would love to have a Film search option in the game so we could see what others in the community are doing and to encourage them as well.

I would love to see clan matchmaking as one list in the ranking and social matchmaking playlist where we could login our clan area or party via our gamertag or even create our own clan and be able to have statistic as a clan going from 2 to 36 members or more and be able to get match up against other clan in a Halo 3 style ranking system and even have online tournaments with other clans, 343 Industries (you guys for some cool prizes, credits and exclusive contents) and even in the MLG playlist where MLG could supervise it all and play against other MLG Clans for some MLG prizes and exclusive contents. Also I would super love to see faster Hammer pickups, switching, and uses, same for other melee weapons please.

Also can you bring back the Halo 3 physics for the grenade bouncing because in reach they hardly go anywhere and the Halo 3 grenades use to bounce very far and even two to three times before exploding, man I missed the old days! Also I can’t stress that enough how much I missed the original CE AR so please bring it back with the Halo 3 AR with its power from both games where you could switch between the amnos at any time, make so that original Halo CE AR is slightly more powerful then the SMG without the silencer. I would like to see the needler have its original Halo CE signature where the needles would align in mid air and follow a trajectory to the target and I would like the have the same tracking system as the one in Hale CE to make it more competitive.

Also make a reset despawn timer radius that is a bit bigger then the pickup radius set at least 15 seconds even if the despawn timer is almost up for every weapons, grenades, equipments, AAs, vehicles, I mean everything that the Spartan can use or drive so that we can pick it up or use them before they dissapear, because it happen to me way too many times that I wanted to use this weapon or vehicle or equipment etc… and I was really close to pick it up and it dessapear right before my eyes just before I could pick it up, that super frustrating!

Also I had an amazing idea, here’s the twist that will make the next Halo a blockbuster super hit, make it so that the slot machine is a huge part in the upcoming game where in each match that you play it does not only pays you for your commendations etc… but for you awsomeness where the more awesome you play with the most sprees and amount of jack of all trades the more you receives prizes in the game and you could receive even multiples prizes, make it hard so that not everybody can have prize at all time or game. The prize could varie like the slot machine in ‘‘Need for Speed The run’’ where you could gain an exclusive content for the most incredible feast, you could also have a new armor piece, a new or old weapon, a new or old vehicles, a new or old AAs, a new or old equipment, a new or old custom skin for weapons, vehicles, armor, etc… a popular or exlcusive community skin creation or etc… a new or old melee weapons, a new custom magazine for a specific weapons, a new scope etc…, a new weapon part piece, a new duel weilding combination (specially for the melee weapons) unlock, new water base vehicles, new species to use in MM & Firefiht like (Firefight survivor that I talk about in early entries), and a jackpot of 30 000 Cr and more at least once a week etc… To be Continued!

Here’s the continuation! Please have everybody have the same loadout and AA but perhaps different weapons combinations for specific social playlist only, so that the game would be more fair for everybody even if the player would have the choice of different loadouts when they die, also make it so that the player could carry at least two AA so they can switch between then at any time in the game and even take AAs from dead foes or allies.

Also I would like to be able to customize the campaign for custom uses like custom games, custom campaign, machinima video etc… Also I would like to see a search for short to long film from the community in the game and I would love to see a new version of invasion where you could play every species in a group like the covenant, the U.N.S.C., the Forerunners, the Precursor & the Flood.

And specially make it so that if someone quit for at least 5 times he starts to loose Exp. points from 1000 to 10 000 points.

Also it is very important that in the upcoming games that you remove party chat in MM so that everybody can speak to everyone and you will give a great Boost to the community voices, like that there will be much more community bonding, we’ll be able to make much more friends and perhaps lover, that will boost the community to its maximum potential and there will be much more greater glory days of halo.

I don’t know where else to put this, but I’ll just leave it here in the hopes that one of your 343 employees actually read this thread. Here goes:

This is about the integration of Community Maps into playlists such as Invasion, Living Dead, and Team Objective. All of these playlists allow a 4 players on a single console. Good community maps that support 4 player splitscreen with minimal framerate lag are hard to come by. The only good community maps support 2 player splitscreen meaning that these playlists suffer from (IMO) bad default maps.

Since it’s obvious that 343 does not wish to cease support of 4 player splitscreen in MM, I have come up with a suggestion that could potentially allow us to integrate community maps into all playlists while also allowing 4 player splitscreen in all playlists.

All that you need to do would be to make it so when there are more than 2 players on a single Xbox in a match no community maps show up. Now I’m not sure it’s possible to do this, but I’ve come with an idea that should make it possible.

Treat the community maps as DLC. Mark all players that have 2 players or less on an Xbox as owning this DLC and those who have more than 2 players on one Xbox as not having it.

Okay, i know its been said before, but 343 you REALLY need to see this. The proposed feature is Forgable ODST/Supply Drop Pods. There would be an ODST Drop Pod that when being placed, shows a small grid box around it. This box prevents you from forging intruding structures that would disrupt the Pod. When placed, its doors are open, showing the inside of the Pod. In player form, you enter the pod as you would any other vehicle. When inside, you are in first person. You can see your arms and feet. You can also look around. When you press right trigger, the Pod drops downward. This MIGHT be a good time to have it so that when you press right trigger, it also makes it third person. But i’d prefer first person.

You can be hit by fire and potentially destroyed, but you can use the left stick to control your decent . When you press left trigger, your chute opens and you slow down. When you land, you need to have opened the chute, or you will explode on impact. If the chute has opened and you land on a suitable solid surface (also slightly phasing itself into the surface), you can exit the pod as if it were a vehicle, making the door pop off with a small bang. This vehicle is one passenger and has no weapons, and when you land, it cannot be accessed or used again.

The other drop pod is a supply drop pod, much like the ones in halo 2/3. Unlike those ones, this one is bigger and easier to put things in. Once placed (similarly to ODST Drop Pod), it can have a weapon or ammo placed in it, then when you walk around to the back of it, you hold the action button (enter vehicle, reload, activate, take weapon etc.) and it will shoot of down very fast and land without need for a chute. When it lands, it slightly phases itself into the surface and people can access its supplies.

This latter Drop Pod may not be possible and if so, at least get the ODST one… THE PEOPLE WANT IT!!! No, NEED it…

How many times have you gone into a forge map with Drop Pods and had the two barricades just break away, you die, sometimes the overshield doesn’t work or spawn, and you just facepalm? This would be the best.

EDIT: Also, if you hit too much of a slope (e.g steer into a wall), it will do some damage and ricochet rather loudly, like buck’s pod in Halo 3: ODST.

Halo 3 = Equipment: One use, pick up on map, usually a thrown item (sometimes).

Halo Reach = Armor Abilities: Various uses before recharging, spawn with chosen one, More of an ability (Fly, run faster)

Soooo…

Halo 4 = Battle Gear(?): Specific number of uses (e.g three Jump Pack bursts then out of fuel, one Over Sheild then out of power), pick up on map, dropped when used up (so you can pick up another one), varies alot (i.e Trip Mine pack lets you throw one mine down then thats it, then you might pick up a jump pack to quickly boost out of there, but then you land in enemies, so you pick up an overshield so you can survive, then when you’re done, you pick up a deployable ammo crate and use it to replenish after the battle.)

Maybe also you can spawn with them, if you set it in the settings, in custom games, forge, firefight and maybe SOME playlists might allow it.

Its the perfect combo. Maybe not the name, but thats not important. I would love this and so would both types of gamers.

Heres a list of some i reckon should be in:

Over Shield - You know what it is, basically the Halo 3 campaign version (pick it up, choose when to activate it) but without the invincibility (only better shields).

Jump pack - You know the jet pack? Some say its useless. Some say its overpowered. Some say its fun and useful. I say change it to a more practical, less overpowered fun version that more people will like. The Jump Pack is, for those who dont know, an angled, powerful thruster that does lift people into the air, but mainly focuses on moving them forward. You needn’t jump with your feet for a boost as this is a much faster, more powerful version of the jet pack that will instantly lift you up off your feet. Great for getting into or out of battle or up to that strategic location. Only 3 uses, one use being a burst maybe 2-3 seconds long. If you skip out halfway through a burst, it only uses half a fuel increment. If you are still in the air when you use up a full burst, your Jump Pack will NOT activate again until you land.

For example, a player is on top of a building. He decides to burst down to the ground, only the ground is only safe many meters ahead. So he bursts off and 2-3 seconds later, he lands safely on the ground and has used one full burst. Now say he had used half a burst before hand to get to the tower. The idiot he is, he still tries to boost to the safe ground, but runs out 1.5 seconds through his jump (half a burst = 1.5 seconds of thrust). The guy starts to fall, so he tries the pack again, trying to use his second burst. But he cannot, and so he falls to his death.

Deployable Mine Pack - Once picked up, you activate and that throws a deployable mine, much like Halo 3. Only the mine in halo 3 was useless and bouncy. So make the mine much more powerful and make it able to sort of stick to surfaces when it lands. One use only.

Deployable Ammunition - Once picked up, you activate and it throws a small box shaped thing that, much like the mine, sticks to surfaces. When it lands, it opens up and acts like Halo Reach’s ammo shelves from firefight. Maybe one or two use, maybe only for certain types of ammo. One use only.

EMP (for lack of a better name) - Think halo 3’s Power Drainer, only more like Halo Wars’ disruption bomb. A smaller item that throws and sticks like a trip mine. But instead of making a blue haze that decimates shields and stops vehicles, have it pulse and those pulses will severely damage shields and temporarily stop a vehicle. After a few pulses, the EMP device destroys itself violently. This makes it less overpowered, not that it was in halo 3, but i would find this one more enjoyable. One use.

Cloak - NOT THE HORRIBLE HALO REACH CAMO!!! They sorta had the right idea there, but not the movement-makes-it-not-work part… So basically like Halo 2’s arbiter camo, but lasts for… between 7-10 seconds perhaps. I would guess 5 uses, which makes for a total possible camo time of 35-50 seconds, not counting time in between uses.

Thats all, so far. Please tell me if theres anything else i should add.

PLEASE reduce the DMR’s rate of fire. More accuracy is needed for the precision weapons, but they can’t have both high accuracy and a high firing rate.

I would like to se power weapons removed from Firefight because it can get frustrating trying to get some Challenges done when everyone is stealing your kills with power weapons and there’s always consent explosions everywhere.

I just thought that I would throw in that I love Halo, and I have an idea for future Halo games.

I love skulls. They are fun to use. I really liked the new bandanna skull, but I have a problem with something. It was too easy to get.

Four things.

  1. Skulls should only be obtainable on Legendary, and should be pretty hard to get to and find.

  2. Beneficial skulls (Like Bandanna) should only be obtainable after all the detrimental skulls have been unlocked, and should be even harder to obtain and find. I think that having to beat the game on Solo Legendary before they unlock should also be a requirement.

  3. Can we have 20+ skulls? :smiley:

Also, please put power ups back into campaign. I’ve missed them ever since CE, and CEA just reminds me more. I want to be able to get Over Shields and Invis (maybe even some new ones? :D) in campaign again. Ok, thank you for actually reading this (if you did), it was a pretty long post. Can’t wait for Halo 4 :smiley:

They can’t have such a high rate of fire when they also have high accuracy and firepower. The DMR is a good example of a gun that has too much firepower and firing rate for its own good, only to become even better with 0%-85% bloom. The Needle Rifle is a good example of a gun becoming OP with too high of a firing rate while maintaining near-perfect accuracy.

Personally, I think that you guys have completely screwed up the cR earning system in Reach and Anniversary. You have:

  1. Removed singleplayer Campaign Commendation cR (team, free for all)
  2. Made custom challenges virtually worthless
  3. Made the non-Xbox Live challenges appear extremely rarely

I don’t have Xbox Live currently, so I am really unhappy with what you guys have done. Please make the Custom challenges worthwhile, and non-Xbox Live challenges appear a lot more (make it ten challenges in general for people to do, both XBL and non-XBL.

It’d make my day worthwhile.

PLEASE put back in the old halo 2/3 ranking systems, 1-50 Highest Skill was the best ranking system i had ever played, wanting to get up in the morning to rank up my skill was like nothing reach has to offer… Arena is dead and gives no satisfaction when all you get is a number in the thousands, i don’t know why bungie changes something that worked so well for this rubbish… PLEASE i know most halo players agree that it will bring halo back to life :slight_smile: TY X

Hello BS Angel & 343i, how was your day, hope your doing great?

I just wanted to let you know that I missed the genre of Halo CE and would love to see much more power up in the campaign with all the ennemies highlighted in red with a waypoint above their heads indicating their distance from me just like in Halo CE.

Also instead of being paralysed when we get ejected of a vehicle I would like to have our movements slowed down to 50% and have a blurry HUD with lots of parasites & waving HUD like a glitch or something.

I would like to hear each plasma hit like a plasma burn just like some meat getting fried on the stove like a big steak and when its a blasma grenade that blow I want to hear lots of frying sounds with particules burning out just like at a camp fire and also when the plasma grenade kill somebody, I wanna hear the frying sound continue for at least 7 seconds with some cracks, breaking sounds, pops, electricities, glitches, metals pieces breaking out and explosions sometimes like the generator gone critical sometimes like a frag grenade or even an EMP blast that goes wild sometimes.

Yeah I know the new big secret and I think that it is awesome should have had it a long time ago, I got my connections, keep heading that way! Also I think that you should <mark>KEEP THE EVADE</mark> too and here’s where it will be perfect in the gameplay, imagine your in a perfect battle with someone as equally skilled as you are with both of you with the BR, you both shield out eachother in a perfect 3 burst fire and when he’s about to finish you with his last burst of fire you evade near him and you finish him with a melee kill right after he missed you when you were evading to kill him. <mark>Now here’s the twist on how I think that the evade should work, it will make it perfect, while you go in any direction even while running you just push down the left joystick and you evade in any direction that you choose!</mark>

Also one thing that will end fans frustration for good, at the end of each games, seperate the statistic chart in four and put them at each corner of the screen or even better wait until the screen turn totally dark before the statistic chart appears because it has frustrate fans forever when we try to get that last kill even after the game is over and please make it so that there is at least 10 - 15 seconds before the screen goes black.

Please bring back the Spectre but here the twist that will make this vehicle perfect, put right behind the driver a seat for the passager just like the Waith instead of two side seats so that he can support action with fire up to 240 degrees where he can turn 120 degrees on each side, imagine what it would bring to slayer games, CTF or even bomb games, imagine what it will do in the multiplayer where it could be comparable to the warthog, maybe it can be a new version of the spectre also make it so that the cover of the driver slide open instead of flipping its more stylish! Don’t forget to bring also the Chopper, its a must and a fan favorite, the Prowler to compete with the legendary Warthog, the Hornet and the Falcon, have some dedicated people focusing only on bringing back those fan favorite vehicles and please bring back the Halo 3 controls for the tank because in reach its still too wild, please. I would like also to see a brute tank, a brute mongoose & a Brute Hornet! Make it so that every species have a small, medium and large land vehicle with at least one offensive arial vehicle.

It would be super cool to have top 5 Kill weapons in the stats and be able to save the stats with each games and a Mp3 with 128 Kbits/sec. resolution audio file for each FFA Match that recorded all chat & conversation in the game or one Mp3 file for each team in team slayer types of games, I would love to be able to coordinate each fight in forge so that we could create our own machinimas. Also bring back the map of the entire world in the main menu of MM where we can see where all the people are playing Halo just like in Halo 3 but keep the way you show us how you find and select matches with the Xs and the highlighted losenges in Halo Reach but add the number of match found just like Halo 3 that would be super super Cool with the overall & playlist population at each one updated in real time at every 10 to 15 seconds.

Also I would love to be able to flip over someone and be able to shoot them in the air just like in the Halo 4 teaser trailer or the the Halo legend episode the Package, also I would love to be able to slide and shoot people in the air or climb over things both like the S.M.A.R.T. movement system of Brink. That would be a game changer, also give us the ability to select on both vertical & horizontal the sensitivity of the joysticks, Ty.

Hey there guy/girl/chicken/alien/other reading this! Yes, I know what you’re thinking Cuckclook the chicken, i know you’re reading this. I know you have an English-Cluck translator so i wont say too complicated stuff. Anyway, heres my post from a thread about armor Elite Armor Customization for Halo 4, provided they are in, of course.
