1.) Server browsing for custom games - have you ever played far cry 2?If you haven’t their custom match multiplayer system INS ratherBrilliant! You can simply search for on-going custom match’s, filterthe result for what your looking for then BAM it gives you a list ofon-going match’s or lobbies to join, it gives you the amount ofplayers, the connection you will have to the server/other players andeven the elapsed and remaining time! bests of all when “making” acustom match random people can come and join at any time (if youchoose it to be via player limit or private match) and you can evenset a “map cycle” which picks a pre-determined list of maps (of yourchoosing) and it will cycle accordingly or shuffle randomly! NOW couldyou imagine halo 4 LIKE THAT?!?! amazing it would remove all those sadhours spent trying to get people to join your custom game/map :frowning:
2.) Overall Map Editor - have you ever gotten of tired of manipulatingphysical object in an attempt to make an cool map? Yeah I have but I’mgetting a little bit tired of its limited capabilities and I think Ican speak for everyone when I say WE WANT SOMETHING REVOLUTIONARY!Imagine, not only being able to use forge like you currently can butto also be able to manipulate the entire map! Imagine editing terrain!Adding water, making mountains, making canyons or even little tunnels?How about creating a waterfall, or a massive river or a flood infestedjungle? Imagine there insane amount of capabilities this would have?Could you imagine the shear creativity and beautiful artistic makingsof the community rising to fame? All I can say is, brilliant!
3.) brush pallet - you know what we haven’t really gotten to see much in thehalo franchise? Plants and wildlife. Imagine being able to create aforest from a new spawn pallet of insane trees, bushes and even grass?Beast? I think so. My first idea for this is… RECREATE 343 GUILTYSPARK(halo: CE mission)
4.) Modifications - I like what the modding community has done withthe series of games, if they were doing it to be creative that is.They want to be able to manipulate the game further to be able tofully show their creative capabilities! And quite frankly we ALL wouldlike to see that, so lets give it to em eh? Allow modifications ofvehicles such as removing turrets, seats, weapons, 3rd person, ect…and how about their weapons mods eh? How about we allow for theediting of weapon projectiles and their firing speeds, bloom, clipsize, reload time ect.
5.)Environment editor - are you tired of trying to make a map that has visual effect to make it seam dark, or brighter or maybe even rainy? Yeah well me too. I’d like to see a weather editor through the new forge. And even an afx and weather system editor. I mean how cool would it be too see snow that YOU put into a map? Eh?
6.) physics editor - now this is interesting, u know how you can make holographic circles and squares though objects to designate areas for game types? Now imagine if they contained more abilities than that. Like how about your able to edit the physical environments of these “areas” for instance changing the gravity in these areas, the sounds, the physics dmg, player dmg, physical impulses, ect. maybe get to the point where u make the entire map have )% gravity LMAO! FUN!
7.) Map Generator - if they do choose to enable players to “edit” the terrain on a map a cool thing to do would be to add a randomized map generator. Yes again an idea from FC2 BUT how do you expect to make the greatest game in history without comparing games? Impossible, well… theoretically impossible…
8.) Destructible Environments - yes this idea IS derived from BF3 butttt its genius, imagine any or maybe all props or that u are able to spawn and/or manipulate, you have the option in the objects “adv. Options” menu to choose to make the select object completely destructible! All I think is… “SHIELA, BLOW UP TUKERS HOUSE!!!”
9.) de-spawn - its cool how you can already make an object spawn later in the game but I think it would be just as neat to have an object “disappear” at a specific time in0game. It would also be nice to bring back instant respawns! Either for players, or objects… hopefully both
10.) Clean Slate (GLASS) I think I may speak for everyone when I say IM TIRED OF DELETING EVEYTHING ON A MAP MANUALY. It would be VERY nice to have a option that would let you remove all objects, items and reset the map and map bounds back to normal. I like to call it “Glassing”. yes I said glassing as in when the covenant fleet would destroy a world with their orbital plasma beams by making it sooo hot it would turn the planets surface to glass! That would just be a sweet feature. Maybe just as a fun added benefit of using this tool you hear a charge of a covenant orbital plasma beam and a big flash, then the map is reset to normal
11.) Vote kick - ok so I believe that all are in agreement when I say that reaches current betrayal booting system for matchmaking and custom games is inefficient and normally kicks the innocent individual. I would be nice if that was replaced with a vote kick system that a player could propose a vote to kick another play by pressing the “select” button there by opening the players list from there the player could select the individuals name and propose a “vote-kick” to all other players and for them to vote it’s a simple press of buttons “A” or “x” similar to how it is now.
12.) Customizable preset player models - you know what would be neat? To play as a different unit for once! Like for infection, the infected would play as “the flood” or in firefight you not only could choose to be an elite but also different types of covenant like hunters, grunts, jackals, ect. Maybe just allow players to change the player models in the game type.

Some Forge requests (nothing dumb or impossible, please read):

"Anyway, my top most list out of all the suggestions I already have is:

  1. MapShot - a screenshot of the map that appears in your map list and when you download it as a helping reminder to what the map is. This can utilize something similar to the loadout camera.

  2. Undo, Redo, Copy, Paste, Cut, Mirror and all the mechanical stuff that can make building symmetrical maps easier.

  3. Glue- gluing two objects together will make them move alongside each other and utilizing things from #2 will help making forge buildings easier. If you want to re-edit a glued object you can enter “un-glue mode” which allows you to edit each object seperately.

  4. Custom Objects- After gluing objects together and making a whole new object, you can save it and upload it to your file share. This can be utilized, for instance, if someone makes a near perfect forge replica of a frigate, he can save it and use it for other maps of his and also let other people use his frigate as well. A picture of the object will be nice. I hate having to look through the search lists and not knowing how good what I’m downloading really is.

  5. Despawn- timed, triggered using buttons.

  6. Buttons- open specific doors and pre-set interactable objects using channels and has more custom system which allows you to spawn or despawn something using buttons, like a detonation if you spawn an explosive.

  7. Interactable Object Setting- this allows you to punch a box out of the way, or push a wall flat on the ground or set objects to spawn at mid air and fall down (only to despawn and respawn seconds after hitting the ground) so you can make the meteor shower map I have always dreamed of making… Also, if the game does have some destructible environments then that will work perfectly with this setting.

  8. More Natural Objects- Reach had a whole “Natural” list and it only had rocks. WTF? Add more stuff there, mainly trees obviously but just give us more natural stuff.

  9. Crazy Weird Stuff- like these old stuff: killbals, golf balls, golf club, tin cup, camping chair, elephant; and these new examples: basketball, basket, camera/tv (using channels), bodies…

I’m not asking for all of this, but if even ONE of these requests make it to the game, I will be very happy… VERY happy… "

This sounds intriguing but change up the Factions:

UNSC - Soldiers, ODSTs, etc
Spartans - many types II’s and III’s. Could even center around fiction - Blue Team, Red Team, Fireteam Foxtrot, etc
Sangheili - (there’re many type of elites and obv after H3, they separated)
Covenant - Grunts, Brutes, Prophets, Jackals, etc

Please please please please please please please please please remove spartan evade from all MM playlists.

It is so unfair

It is just as cheap as the unmodified armor lock. Don’t modify spartan evade just take it out.

  1. I know you can do this. You guys are smart. You must understand that Spartan Evade is better than Sprint in every way.

Please. Spartans should not be able to Evade. Please take it out. That is all I ask.

Ok after playing halo reach it needs these things…

Forge needs to be able to edit firefight maps and edit single player maps.

and forge should be able to make AI spawn points and bipeds in mods.

Halo reach needs mod tools like halo Custom edition, so we all can make things for it.

Halo reach and halo 4 and halo CEA needs an AI dialogue option so we dont have to here profanity of any kind. And
take out the F-bomb (f**k) it is NOT acceptable.

Please do and make these thing’s, 343.

This is my second post on this forum. I keep getting new ideas and/or fixes that I want to share. But before I talk about my thoughts, I read this earlier post and had to give my opinion. … Great idea! Although I think the classes and factions could be retooled. Also, maybe this doesn’t have to be the whole multiplayer but a game type. Maybe a reworked Invasion game. I don’t know if I could handle loosing my classic Team Death match :smiley: Although everyone wants a classic Halo experience, 343i still need to push forward and evolve the series so it can still be relavent today against games like Modern Warfare and Battlefield.

Now, about my thoughts. I was playing Halo Reach and somethings came to mind. So these can be fixes for Reach but stuff to think about for future titles.

  • Was playing Firefight on Unearthed with a friend and all we wanted to do was get in a classic Warthog. I’m not sure how many people really like the Rocket-Hog, I mean it’s cool and all, but I just want my Classic-hog to drive around in.

  • Not sure if this is in the title update but could you change the health system for vehicles? I would love it if they could recharge their health a little. It’s annoying to get into a hog and the instantly explode from one shot with a DMR.

  • I like how there are tons(!) of new maps created in forge world but could you create a separate playlist to play those maps? I love the original Halo Reach released maps and don’t get to see them as much now. Also it’s getting hard to remember what the maps are based on name. It doesn’t help that every forge world map shows the same forge world picture. ( I know, it surprises me too, how much those photos help)

There is def more than one thing wrong with the Chief in CEA the one that bugs me the most is how stationairy his upper and middle part of his torso is than the CE version to which it moves around in separate parts instead we get the halo 2 type of suit that is just a layering onto the character and just moves the polys around to give the character movement it is a total bug and needs a small redesign to match up what was done 10 years ago this change will be a much bigger improvement to the cutscenes and be much more realistic in my opinion with no doubt that it will no only look better but stay even more true to the original which was definalty the MAIN reason for doing this remake :slight_smile:

Yea in the redone cutscenes this ^ is especially apparent.

Please tell me you understand how unfair Spartan Evade is to the multiplayer.

It is very unhalo. Halo has always had slower movement that flows with the weapons that are created. Spartan Evade is sudden and ruins the flow. Especially in close quarters games.

I can be DMR’ing a person and they just suddenly evade right before I kill them witha final headshot.

I can be using a plasma launcher and just before it sticks the guy he evades left suddenly. Had he been using sprint he wouldn’t have gotten away. Sprint is perfect. Sprint is fine.

But spartans using evade is not fine

I am asking you guys if you could please do this :
Turn off Friendly Fire in Living Dead, it gets annoying if your Partner comes and kills you if you are a Human or Zombie >.<

Add a text tool in forge so we can clearly write things in the sky, or name parts of our maps very visibly.

I understand that the reason you dont have one already is the curse words. Put in a word filter, and have limitations on how close two different text boxes can be to each other, and you could have it error on words that aren’t in the oxford english dictionary. That way you wouldn’t be able to easily defeat the word filter. It would be terrible, but if thats what it takes to get some use out of it, you should do that.

I find Halo to be one of the, if not the best game series out there, and I find it rather ironic that when I was a younger more ignorant kid, I said I would never play Halo, but here I am Playing Halo every chance I get and discussing about the key topics about it.

So, I’ve played a few games of Halo 3 recently, and it reminded me of how great Halo used to be. There are certain things that Reach was lacking that really ruined it for me. In order for Halo 4 to be successful, you need a few basic things.


  1. High jump height, quick movement speed - Being able to jump a great distance into the air is one of Halo’s core characteristics. Reach has a much lower jump height compared to the previous three titles, and I think that it really hurt the game. Also, movement speed needs to be fairly quick. Without a quick movement speed, Halo 4 will lack the intensity that it needs to succeed.

  2. Good, memorable maps - Multiplayer maps can make or break a game. It seems like over the past several years, map design is getting worse and worse. And this is true even outside of Halo. Regardless of how good the core gameplay mechanics are, they’re not enough on their own. We need good maps.

  3. And finally, there needs to be some sort of skill-based ranking system, coupled with an experience-based ranking system. I’m not saying that it has to be the exact “1-50 TrueSkill” system of Halo 3, but definitely something similar. Having an objective to work towards is what keeps players interested in a game. For me, my journey to a 50 in Halo 3 was one of the most memorable things I’ve ever experienced.


If you have those three things, you’re on the road to success. Obviously there are a TON of other factors involved, but the three things I mentioned above are the most important to me. They are the foundation for everything else.

I just really hope Halo 4 MP doesnt feature that annoying AL at all, Jetpack can stay away too… it destroys every map…

please allow a starting gun that has faster kill times and skill to take out 2 guys. halo 3 and reach its done deal set in stone unless they suck bad… halo 1 u can always take out 2 guys if u were skilled just more fun

and please make the AR more fun then previous halos. more like ce

Halo Anniversery Feedback
Add an achivement for the anniversery firefight map. I’ve already beat the achivements that came with reach so I would appreciate an achivement for this new map. Also, change the ability for the player to unlock achivements with custum skulls, only default settings. Letting achivements be unlocked with custom skulls makes firefight feel like a joke and destoys replay value. People can use custom skulls in their own private games, but not for unlocking achivevments, which totally contradicts the player reward and incentive system. Please change these things for CE:Anniversery so firefight has some replay value. Please do this, you know its the right thing to do.

If there are vehicles on the instalation 04 map, then I think they should behave like there Halo 1 counterparts. In other words, the banshee and ghost should have a faster default speed instead of boost. I hope anniversery firefight matches the campaign as close as possible and also has no weapon bloom. As I said before, there should be an achivement for this map and you should have to unlock it with default game settings only, not the cheap custom shulls route.

I have two things to say one of them being a question. First, your doing good 343i. The other is, will there be any br’s in Halo 4?
