They already made that game. Well, 3 of them actually: Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Just had an inspired idea!
What if 343 made the hud/visor a bit ,ore useful? I mean the way it is now, we monitor our health, and use our motion sensor, but aside from those two things, its mainly just a view screen. In the books, however, the Spartans use their HUDs to communicate (along with hand gestures). I thing something that allowed us to communicate vid HUD would be an amazing addition to Halo. Besides, aren’t you tired of that guy on your team who cant communicate because he doesn’t have a mic? Or maybe you just don’t feel like talking yourself! Well, another way to communicate would be by sight instead of sound. Let me present you with my “Waypoint” idea.
And yes, I am aware that other games have used something similar to this. But lets say you’re on a team and no one has any mics. Currently that makes it very hard to call out enemy locations or maybe other important things that you notice on the map such as a weapon or vehicle spawn that you’re too far away to pick up yourself, but you want to notify your teammate which is considerably closer. You could do this by pressing up on the d-pad by centering your view on an enemy and this would mark him with a green waypoint. The waypoint would show up on your allies HUD no matter where the enemy is on the map and maybe last for up to 5 or 6 seconds. It doesn’t seem like that big of an idea, however if the enemy was “one-shot” it could make all the difference in the world. You would be able to alert your team to an easy kill or maybe warm them of an approaching enemy without even saying a word.
As far as weapon/vehicle spawns, maybe we could use a different color and maybe a shorter time. Maybe just a green flicker over the weapons location would be enough to indicate that “rockets are up,” or banshee’s back."
However, it is important to keep your HUD from being cluttered with red and green waypoints. This is why a time and maybe a limit to how many times you can use this function should probably be implemented. And i’m sure this idea could use a lot of tweaking if its not crap all together, but I thought I’d just throw it out there. If anyone does read this, thanks! : )

This plus the ability to veiw your teamates screens in first person. It would be a small screen in the corner and you could use the Dpad to flick between teamates and disable the screen completly. It would be usefull when you want callouts but your team aren’t giving any, or just to see what’s going on or where the action is/who needs help on your team.
The controlas could be like this:
Left/right on Dpad: Flick through “channels”
Down on Dpad: Enable/disable team-cam (my idea I can call it what I like)
Up on Dpad: Place waypoint as described in quote

Yes and they were all great games. Please make another. Stick with the original formula. That one was the best. I hope they make a fourth.
Please make ‘Restart Mission’ start a new saved film and stats session.
Currently, if you want to have a ‘clean’ saved film (i.e. it doesn’t include all your fail runs) and set of stats attached to it, you must exit back out to the main menu and reselect one of your options to clear your checkpoint. For general users, restart mission isn’t something they’re ever likely to use. However, for a power use like myself (speed runner), if it started a clean saved film and stats sheet it would be immensely useful and save a whole load of time rather than going back to the main menu and seeing all those loading screens again.
Please 343 Stick with the original Halo Formula from Halo CE. H2, and H3. Thats what made those games the best gaming experience that anyone has ever had. Do exactly as you did with H1 and H2 and at the same time adding new ideas that go well with the original Halo formula. Adding AAs and Bloom in Reach was a great example of something that does NOT go well with the halo formula. Adding dual weilding in H2 and equipment in H3 was a good example of something that goes well with the Halo Formula. Sure Reach is a good game but not Halo wise. And thats what we need to change for Halo 4. So please 343 do NOT add AAs and Bloom in H4 and keep up the good work.
- I don’t think it would be stealing or copying if you used other games as reference or inspiration. I personally think you should take a look at how the Uncharted series tells its story in each game. I think it has some of the best story telling in a game to date. With great character chemistry, good dialog, and how the cinematics blend in with the games play.
- Halo Reach had a solid campaign. The missions were a good size and the game felt like it lasted a good amount time. I also liked Halo 3: ODST’s campaign a lot too. I loved the open world sections and wish it had more of it.
- Another favorite thing of mine is how Reach had the Campaign, Multiplayer, and Firefight divided up into their own categories. Matchmaking, Commendations, Challenges, etc.
- Halo 3 is my favorite multiplayer of the Halo series (of course Halo CE will always be the best) but I think Reach did some good things. I like the idea of firing bloom but I think it should be toned down. I’m not a fan of the Armor Abilities but I think sprint is a great addition and should be standard for all players. The healing bubble shield was a solid tool and a great improvement over the Halo 3 bubble shield. The rest of the AAs can be tossed in my opinion.
- Invasion is a great idea but I feel like it needs some new twists added. I would make it more epic. I personally want to call carpet bombs from Longswords, call down MAC blasts, and more!
- Invasion Slayer was my new favorite game type, I wish it had its own playlist so I could play it more often.
- keep the credits and ranking from Halo Reach but also show the truSkill number for the hardcore competitive players. Also Arena was a neat idea, I would like to see it approved on.
- It felt like it took forever to unlock stuff to purchase in the Armory. In MMOs they always give you a little bit each step of the way as you level up. It just brings the player back wanting more. You should make it so that at least one item becomes available to purchase with every rank up.
- One of the best things from Reach is how any game mode you play contributes to your Spartan. I hope this returns but I also would like to see more! If you at the things they are doing with Black ops and MW3, its pretty awesome. It would be cool to try and level each weapon, commendations are cool, could be tweaked though
- Please add more armor, more firefight voices, more effects, and MORE to unlock!!! HUD colors and HUD designs would be cool too.
- If you keep loadouts around, I think you should make them customizable for Firefight.
- The vehicle combat in Halo 3 was more fun for me than it was in Reach. If you could make it more like Halo 3, that would be fantastic!
- Keep button layouts from pervious Halo games and/or let us map actions to buttons
- The Menus in REACH are very clean, organized, and attractive. I would keep that in mind when designing future Menu interfaces
- Customizable emblems like Call of Duty: Black Ops would be pretty sweet but of course keep classic Halo emblems around
- please keep UNSC weapons human weapons. I don’t want hybrids of UNSC and Covy weapons. News from Halo Fest made me think you might try that …
That’s a lot of the things I liked and would like to see. Good luck 343i! I believe in you to keep a great franchise moving forward!
Recent games aren’t saving in the theatre. I have Bungie Pro, which Bungie says is still working, so the recent games should save. I’ve seen that another guy has asked Bungie about this on twitter, but as far as they know it should still be working. Can anybody tell me what’s going on?
Can Reach please get more stockpile? I just got my first chance to play it in months but nobody voted for it. I’m trying to get my last achievement but it never comes up.
Please put it back in Premium Battle and Objective Playlists.

That’s all well and good (sticking to the original formula) as a base, but we need some new stuff to keep this series fresh. Many can’t agree on the implementation of the current armor abilities but they certainly added a new dynamic to Halo. By all means you need to keep the gameplay of the original at the core. It’s what keeps bringing us back to this series. But… don’t be afraid to try new ideas 343. There needs to be a fine balance between new elements and the classic Halo we all love.

Yeah, besides. Halo 4 will probably return Halo to a more classic Halo experience, and it will be greatly loved. But, if we didn’t have a break in the norm from Halo: Reach and ODST, and 4 came right after 3, we might have gotten burnt out by more of the same. Now that we have had a break from classic Master Chief gameplay, we are ready to return to it. We will appreciate 4 more because we have had a chance to miss it.
Few ideas.
-
Let players choose a weapon to hold when the team list pops up. To unlock weapons you must first get a that weapon’s highest medal, such as slice and dice, wrecking crew, be the bullet, etc. The weapons that dont have medals can be earned like a commendation where you need 300 DMR kills, say. Players can start with a pistol. (bare fists require commendation progress, same with knife)
-
Not all forge pieces need to be so detailed an complicated, infused with glass, circuitry, and blinking lights. You can have a tab for a group of extremely cheap objects in all the useful shapes you can think of (very few polygons), and when one is chosen the player must pick from a list of textures. These textures are just simple patterns that wrap around the object in no particular pre-thought fashion. But the player would have the choice of solid colors, grass, wood, brick, leopard print, grunge, sand, etc
I cant stress enough that I am talking about simple geometry here, no fancy business. These blocks should cost 2 credits each and the limit should be 1000. -
Admit that teabagging happens. It is a halo tradition. In fact, when a teammate kills me I call out “You can at least -Yoink!- my corpse”. It’s the spartan deathright, akin to placing coins on the eyes of the deceased for the boatman. So give it an animation like assassinations have when you really lay into it. Add armory item called “buttplate” that is not visible during initial loadout but surprising when you finally see it during a teabagging. This can range from normal armor, to tails, to localized pestilence, to baboon butt. It could be fun… allowing people to get less worked up over a simple -Yoink!-. (I’ve gotten negative rep for it!)
This comment is about HALO 4:
Firefight and forge should both feature in halo 4.
Firefight should be compatible with forge, not just objects but enemies and vehicles too.
Forge should feature a new tool, I call it “forge motion” it controls the direction, strength and speed of gravity.
Forge could have time delay, touch activation or initiate through the use of switches (numbered 1-30). with motion forge could do many things, with motion, anything is possible. From mazes that move to crush slow players inside to huge spaceships exploding into fragments and sinking out of the sky. It would be fantastic!
the direction could be drawn by using the reticle.
Also all vehicles in forge including usable scarabs.
Tank and Banshee need removal in Boneyard NOW! No point in playing a game thats all about vehicle control.
Hey 343 !
About the Title Update for Reach :
The grenades are too effective, and often players prefer to throw a grenade in combat rather than use his gun … And in the heat of the moment, and do not think I am the only one, we kill our allies so they are powerful. 343, could you reduce the area of effect to those it? Keep the damage, just reduce the range of grenades, to reward the best throws grenades like in Halo 3.
You can make those things happened 343

change armor lock back to how it was when reach came out.
and bring back the community map playlist (if you haven’t already).
Please bring back the cyclops in halo 4. It was an awsome viechle in halo wars. This viechle would be so fun to drive around and kill people

This.
I have a hard time letting my team know where they should attack. In ODST campaign we had maps that we could place waypoints on pretty easily. I want that, in matchmaking. It would have to be a map that separates different floors from eachother.
Better yet, or in addition, some way of pulling out a simple target locator that only your team could see. (say by holding up on the d-pad and pulling the trigger).
That would give us a big-time strategic jump. Helpful when your team is comprised of strangers.
