THE OFFICIAL HALO FEEDBACK THREAD

Hello 343! I love you<3
This is about halo 4
I hope Halo 4 will focus more on the story then previous halo games,What ive seen so far,Halo 4 seems to have more of a darker, deeper and more awesome story  and that is awesome! maybe alot more exploring, and the music i ve heard,Sounds cool,UFO music!

Iam really looking forward to halo 4,i will not be dissapointed,Halo 4 wants me to learn more about the forerunners, hope that halo 4 will have more references to halo books.

It seems so cool! so mysterious and dark.
This forerunner world…
We got so much Questions, again and again iam saying iam looking forward to this x)
But i really do! A halo campaign needs to be longer and have more mission,And a deeper story.
And more exploring, what about side quests? x)okay, that would be too much rpg-ish but still awesome

I love halo,and i love you 343.
I wish you good luck with everything!

I remember Halo for the first time when I was eight years old. I was young but it was amazing, and as i’ve grown up with Halo it soon became my game of choice. I actually own and have beaten every single Halo game, I’ve played them all with friends for hours into every night of the week. Seeing new faces take over this loved franchise of mine puts lots of expectations in my head, but i think 343 Industries will do the game justice just as Bungie did.Now down to my suggestion lol. I love the idea of the Halo CE remake, but can you guys please do a Halo 2 remake too? I know many people who want it remade just as bad as the original, and maybe add the parts that were sadly left of the game, possibly as a DLC. I would love to see the rest of Halo 2,and how it wouldve turned out. I strongly believe people would go for these ideas. Please consider this. Thank you and God Bless=)

I fully believe 343 should continue using live action videos to promote upcoming games. They are one of the things that sets halo games apart, gets fans EXCITED!!! (and hopefully finally gets a movie made.)

For the new forums coming to halo.xbox.com:

-Will we be getting a favourite topics list?
-Will we be getting a posted topics list?
-And will we be getting a list that shows all the threads you have replied to?Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but nobody knows on the

Will we see more posts per page and more topics on the general discussion section if that is still there ?

I hope we will get different forums for the 3 following games:
-Halo: Reach
-Halo CEA
-Halo 4

Then we get another forum which is ā€˜Previous Halo games discussion’ or something.

@page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } I just wanted to voice a concern regarding the choices in loadouts of FF Limited (and limited only, not arcade or score attack) that may or may not be widespread but is definitely not limited (hah) to myself.

To be blunt; why is the least stealthy weapon you can choose (the grenade launcher) paired with the active camo AA?

Putting aside for the moment any analysis of the AA’s perceived utility or the weapon’s efficacy on their own, I want to focus on the pairing itself. Obviously we are free to grab different weapons any time, but this loadout is the only one where it feels as though you must, or simply try to recover the weapon on a different spawn. When exactly is the camo going to help me use the GL? I can’t use it up close without hurting or killing myself, at at range the AI (which always has the tough luck skull on, remember) simply dodges at least some of the damage. So we’re clear, I actually love the GL and rather like the camo, but find them lacking any kind of synergy or sense, especially compared to the others.

Both of the DMR-equipped loadouts have ideal AAs, either Sprint or Evade, ones that emphasize the midrange lethality of the main weapon and allow tactics to flow logically from them, giving the ability to engage the enemy from the optimal range and position, and flee suboptimal ones. The Drop Shield loadout gets decent weaponry as well, the AR for fighting close range, even in the shield, and the pistol for midrange. The same simply cannot be said of the Specter.

My suggestion is simple: since there are only four loadouts out of a possible five, as there are in the other game modes, why not simply change the Specter’s primary weapon to the Shotgun, a weapon that synergizes perfectly with the cloak, keeping the pistol sidearm, and create a new loadout called the Deceiver (an existing name) equipped with the GL, pistol, and Hologram?

The Shotgun is conspicuously absent from FF Limited, and is sorely missed as a result. It is a power weapon, to be sure, but its’ highly situational range and the comparative strength of the enemies in limited would keep it from becoming overused or overpowered. The Active Camo would be put to good use closing the gap to effective range, allow for interesting tactics, and help the Specter escape from crowds too large to fight. The GL is a power weapon as well, but its’ comparative difficulty to properly use have kept it from becoming dominant, indeed I rarely see it used, which I think this change would address. The hologram is also a perfect companion to the GL, allowing the player to buy time to reload, create openings, or even try to herd enemies together for multikills. In short, both loadouts would be intuitive, effective, and fun.

This change would also provide some variety in loadout selection, as there is little reason not to choose Evade, and it is, as such, the dominant choice by far. The workhorse rifle is never replaced, and the pistol is scrapped in favor of FRGs or Plasma Launchers dropped by grunts in initial waves, so even the raw firepower of the GL is not missed, nor would the Shotguns’ be.

TL;DR
Replace the GL with the shotgun on the Specter loadout, move the existing weapons to a new one with the hologram.

I look forward to your consideration and discussion.

Ever since Bungie decided to have maps show up more than once to vote for in Score Attack, it’s becoming really frustrating if you want to play on a specific one.

The DLC map Unearthed made things already a tad more tricky than they were before. Since you originally had only eight maps and can vote ā€œnone of the aboveā€ seven times, this meant that every map showed up once. But Unearthed changed that since you now have nine maps but can still vote ā€œnone of the aboveā€ only seven times. So that means that one map never shows.

But having maps show up multiple times now makes things really frustrating. Nine maps, each of them likely to show up twice? That means that if you’re unlucky, half of the maps available don’t show anymore at all.

Now, I’m not asking for a complete overhaul of the map/gametype selection (although you should keep that in mind for Halo 4), but just to change Score Attack so that either each map show up only once again, or to increase the number of times you can vote for ā€œnone of the aboveā€. Double it. Triple it, if you like. But the current way is really frustrating and annoying.

Continue with the invasion gametype for future Halo games!

And try to make the overall design for future Halo games more like Halo: Reach and Halo wars!
Love the design from the concept art trailer, and Master Chief’s new suit!

First off , Congratulation on being now the sole devs of the halo franchise , to oversee this great franchise is not an easy task but i’m sure you are all more than capable of it.

The only feedback i would like to give you(343) aside from the gameplay or the wonderful halo universe created over the years is , DONT FORGET THE MYSTERIES it’s one of the key points of halo compare to any other scifi fps . Not just from a story perspective (forerunner etc…) but within a level .

Make us search everywhere for hidden gems may it be skulls, writting on walls, easter eggs etc…
part of the many memories most of us have from halo is searching levels everywhere with buddies .

Dont let this side of halo die it’s also part of what makes halo special in our heart .

I 2nd this, Halo’s easter eggs are one of the things that separate it from other games.

Remember the Scarab Gun on Halo 2…omg more stuff like that.

For character customization we should have way more freedom then we’ve ever had before, for vizors we should be able to choose our colours like any other armor peace, we should be able to put those accessory arm peaces on both arms and choose different ones for both arms as well as different knee pads and maybe, even cod peaces. We should be able to choose different boots, maybe make our own peaces of equipment for example in making a helmet we could choose the mouth peace and top part along with vizor. Also maybe be able to use SIII’s for certain game types. Maybe also have the usual elites along with brutes for matchmaking, and for some game types be whatever you want from an odst, marine, to a grunt. Maybe we could also be the new enemy. Basically character customization should be amazing.

I’m not big on the custom game settings but I know there are some pretty cool things you could do and even more cool things would be great. There could be an option to let us go in to water and not be harmed, or maybe we just die slower.

For campaign maybe we could have a mode called custom campaign where you make it so your campaign experience is completely different. One thing I’d love to see is a way to forge your own campaign missions. Make your own places to go triggers to spawn enemies, little secret passage ways, maybe even your own easter eggs.

I think everyone knows that a LOT of people want to forge in firefight if not everyone. So why not?

For forge I think a gravity box would be pretty cool, where you can make gravity different in that box. We should be able to go in water so we can make maps that deal with water. If someone wants to make an under water map there could be a mode that makes water disappear so you can build clearly. We should be able to make things with water, like water falls and stuff like that, maybe water traps and obstacles. We should be able to put objects in a cycle so we can make timed doors, elevators, and rotating bridges, stuff like that.

For weapons we could put different Halo like skins, although I can not think of any good ones. Maybe it would be best to leave that one be.

I had an idea for an all new mode. I’ve never used Gary’s Mod and don’t know much about it but I think my idea is something like that. We should be able to customize characters and use them to make frame by frame machinima. We could use our mics to record voice obviously and other people could help make it. Some objects like vehicles could have a damage meter that way we could make some pretty cool stuff. We could make most effects with the menu.

This has nothing to do with any known titles in the works, meaning halo 4-6. Just wanted to throw out an idea for a possible game some day in the future.

I like halo a lot for the campaign/story. I have played every Halo title with the exception of ODST(which I own just haven’t gotten around to playing) and Halo Wars. What always has drawn me back to playing Halo has always been the story, not the multiplayer which probably puts me in the minority. The multiplayer title I enjoy the most is the battlefield series. I’m sure you know here this is going.

The Halo universe has many weapons, many vehicles, why not a battlefieldesque style halo game? Playing as UNSC members instead of as spartans, large multiplayer maps, dozens of vehicles, just a large all out battlefield with at minimum 32 players, preferably 64 on the next box or even on the next next box.

You even have an entire background story(Jovian Moon Campaign; Rain Forest War; Mars Campaign, Interplanetary Wars, etc etc.) that can be used in regards UNSC in order to keep the battles more human

I don’t know, just a thought.

I might be repeating someone, has it been suggested to put polls into forums?

Pardon me if this has been asked already.

With the new Firefight in Halo: CEA with the marine AI allies, I think it would be a cool idea to be able to play as an elite, and fight the marine AI.

69 pages? I doubt I’ll be heard but here goes!

I would LOVE to see a game based around the Arbiters. So level 1 and 2 would be the FIRST Arbiter, level 3 and 4 would be The Taming Of The Hunters, 5 and 6 would be The Grunt Rebellion, and so on and so on!

It would showcase the evolution of the Covenant, and take us across the Covenant Empire to all the different species homeworlds!

Just an idea! Love you!

I know I’m a voice among thousands, but consider my opinion for the true Halo lovers.

Halo is my most favorite game of all time to play! I truly love Halo, but ever since halo 3 ODST it has gone downhill. (Don’t get me wrong the campaigns are pretty great and the graphics just get better.) It went from my favorite game to just disgraceful boringness. I can understand trying different things and I didn’t hate halo 3 ODST just its lack of multiplayer bummed me out. Halo wars is totally different and I can’t bash that for those who like those types of games. As for Halo: Reach tho it was one of the biggest disappointments for me. Getting rid of the True Skill rating like in halo 3, that has to be one of the worst things you could possibly do. Also, the ā€œbloomā€ every time you shoot your weapon is very annoying and it is NOTHING like the Halo series. You might as well just have named it something else and created a whole new game franchise, or better yet go into business with Call of Duty since I can see so much relations. Honestly… as for the ā€œperksā€ or whatever you call them, those are the absolute last straw. Halo never! ever! had such bad taste in creating a video game… I know I’m not the only one who has started to hate Halo. STOP! trying to be like other games and focus on what you once were and how great it was. Halo combat evolved - Halo 3 was the absolute best game series ever created and I will never stop playing them. Bring back the true skill and get rid of the bull -Yoink- and continue to make the most beloved game ever. I honestly will not ever buy another Halo game if it continues down this path.

Please consider my views, and as for the people like me that I know are out there, join together and become a voice for what was once a good game.

Sorry I just wanted to say that is an AWESOME GT.

I have a cool idea for a collectable in Halo4. The idea is that you can find different collectables throughout the campaign but this is separate from skulls and whatever ells Halo4 might have, when you find this collectable you will unlock a different chief skin that you can turn on and off in the menu. I got this idea from the fact that 343 said they were making different variations of the chiefs suit till they find the right one, so maybe we can find a collectable for each one of those, we could even find the Halo3 chiefs suit. Maybe the collectable could be a Mark VI helmet. This would not effect the story, it would only effect the way you and friends playing with you see your chief, to the story you will be playing with the same Mark VI variation the whole game.

Well if you want feed back here is mine, i see you are nerfing AL so that is good. I am not sure what your plans are with this, but I would like playlists that allow spartans and elites to fight together. that is all for now

343, please do a better job when having your books edited. The sole fact your re-releases of the first three Halo books had to be re-re-released as ā€œDefinitiveā€ Editions speaks volumes about how little you care about releasing a quality product. Hell, even the Visual Guide had errors, the weirdest was that you said Halo 3: ODST didn’t have an AR and then you show an image of Buck HOLDING an AR.

Get your act together.

I really hope Halo 4 has at least one small map designed for 2-6 players. I prefer smaller scale games and Reach doesn’t really have any maps that fit the space that was previously filled by environments such as Wizard, Lockout, Midship or Guardian. I like 1v1s and 2v2s and feel disappointed when I have to use a Forge map to get those types of games.

Please don’t alienate small-game fans like me, 343.
