Feedback regarding Reach’s Challenges
I don’t exactly know how the daily/weekly challenge program works, but I’m guessing that it pulls from a pool possible options and selects at random?
Let’s add a whole lot more to this pool! The current dailies are tired and repetitive. Same with the weeklies. Take suggestions from the community. I know we could submit 100s or great, creative, suggestions!

I was just wondering if 343 had any plans for Arena: Season 9? Seaosn 8 is over ina few short weeks and that my favorite playlist ( being the only ranked playlist) i was curious.

Since this is the generally feedback spot too ill add some feedback for the arena.

  1. Make it so we can see the other team before the games start. Its a good way to compare what your up against.
  2. Add more Arena playlists ( Team OBJ, Team Snipers, Team SWAT, Double Teams etc.)
  3. Do 1 and 2 again haha :slight_smile:

My first idea is a Custom Game playlist

First off it is not a lobby for like friends only, second what it is, is a MM playlist where you find random people who are willing to do a custom game but have no one to do it with.
There will be 12 or 14 players and a random person will be host and choices a game (VETO IS BACK) and people could veto if they don’t want that gametype and if at least half of the game vetoes a new person will turn host and pick a game.

My second idea is a some what a firefight game (Working on name)

It would be a game up to 6 people and you have to survive in a city of covenant forces. The more covenant you kill the more reinforcements are sent in and sometimes there will be a strong flood like in Halo 2. You start out with a Magnum and you could find weapons around the place. And like in CoD zombies you will be able to heal people after they die (They have 30 seconds to be healed) and that’s it.

Forge 3.0 ideas

In Forge3.0 you should be able to make like dead spartan/elite body’s and make fire, water, tree’s and grass plus you should be able to pick up a whole city or something made out different blocks so you don’t have to move each little piece.

Please give feedback on the ideas

I haven’t looked but I’m sure everyone else is doing the same thing, here are some changes I would be ecstatic to see made, I would certainly feel incined to play the game a ton more with such changes.

1: If you’re going to fix the grounded commedation, by a playlist change or commendation change, TELL US NOW. I’m about ready to go all out to get it onynx but I don’t want to do that and then have it be made easier to get. if nothing is going to be done about it, TELL US NOW. Regardless what is done, let us know before we start (or continue) endless hours of painfull grinding in firefight for grounded. I hope something is done because playing on holdout over and over again gets really old. (And causes me t quit when I otherwise never would, when someone votes something else.) And you can’t play with friends because then you need to split the killls making a half a year commendation (At least) take twice as long. But key thing is, regardess of what is done, please don’t leave us hanging another few months on this one, it needs to be known now

2: Well, I agree most of the community on certain subjects. I’m a casual, average skilled player. I can’t stand armor lock and it ruins my enjoyment of the game. If it could be taken out of team slayer, rumble pit, and multi team. I’d be ecstatic. Big team, objective, it doesn’t bother me nearly as much. Camo, as well, disrupts my gameplay experience as well. Mainly because of the jammer. I always thought it was a brilliant idea to take the radar jammers out of maps in matchmaking in Halo 3, yet it’s given as a spawn ability in this game. Again, it doesn’t seem to be much of a bother in big team and objective gametypes, it’s rumble pit, team slayer and multi where it 's so disruptive.

3: Magnums in snipers = stupid. While every other playlist has gotten updated snipers has been ignored, it’s due. Not enough maps, it gets stale playing on uncaged and hemmo every game it seems. In particular, it needs more maps suited for snipers, H3 seemed to have map much better suited for snipers. Maybe another community forging contest?

4: I’ve seen some pretty convincing arguments about bloom, best of which being best strafe + aim wins being the situation with no bloom. It bothers me the most, however, in swat, which just hasn’t been the same in this game. headshots don’t work half thee tame and it’s very angering. Overall however, I’m all for the bloom removal. I’m also in favor of the grenade depower argument, it’s kinda dumb when a single frag can kill you at full shields. If anything swats needs to be removed in swat at least?

5: Ranking, eh. Arena just doesn’t do it for me, as most people feel. Your ranking needs to be shown in all playlists, as a large part of motivation to rank up, for most people, it to show off/be at a higher status. It needs more tiers, to seperate player skill more and make it more impressive to be at the highest rank. Maybe a silver grade 1, 2, ect. Iron throuh Onynx by themselves is a little bland. Don’t need trueskill, but hey, why not display arena rankings as a 1-50? Best of both worlds, the effective Arena ranking with the more relatable 1-50 shown in all playlists. Maybe, all (Or some) playlists could be run by the arena ranking system, with a 1-50 display. Something like this I feel could be huge for the game.

6: I wouldn’t mind seeing certain vehicles, primarilly the warthog, be made more resistant gunfire. it’s not that hard to gun down thee driver & passengers, let’s not have the warthog be flipped and heavily damaged by DMR fire. It’d be nice to see the gauss hog in a map, as wel as aother map or two with the scorpion. BTB heavy on sandtrap, that was some good stuff, I’d love to see that in this game some time.

7: As much as I abuse it myself, the melee system is dumb. I think it shoulld do something like half of the damage it does, so it takes two melees to pop shields and two with no shields. The bleedthrough system wouldn’t be too bad as well, especially when the ‘‘aim for the head’’ comes into play.

^^^ ALL That right there! Esp the assassination creator! That would be awesome. If you were to add all of that, sure it would be multi disk but the amount of playability would cause more sales. Would you pay 70$ for it? People paid 150$(?) for the Legendary Ed. of Halo Reach… Seriously. FF Forgeworld? I’d buy H4 just for THAT alone so long as it included FF Versus to be an actual MM style gameplay unlike the Bungie tease where its only in the FF Gametype and not FFMM

One more thing I may have missed on this discussion… Can I assassinate a Hunter? Pls? That would be so wicked… of course you gotta strip the armor off of em first. :slight_smile:

I should never have to be a zombie in Living Dead. :wink:

On a more serious note, I love Living Dead. That NEEDS to be in Halo 4.

Halo: The storyline is awesome, the gameplay is fun, and it’s not call of duty.

Can we get a few more weapons for competitive games? It is limited to DMR, NR, Magnum, Sniper, Rockets, plasma pistol, and grenade launcher right now. I think you could probably add in some other weapon(s) there, the grenade launcher was awesome but I want to see another weapon in this mix.

Halo 4 needs more arena style maps, maps made for 4v4 with different aesthetics. There were so many big team/invasion/odd-new-game-type maps with Reach that the arena style maps were kind of ignored. I know that a lot of people want more of these maps so maybe put a whole mess of maps into Halo 4, but don’t put maps in for the sake of more maps. Make sure each map plays nicely and looks different than the others.

Dear 343,
It would be cool if there would be an achievement for finding the original Halo fluel rod gun and flamethower somewere in the camaign. In halo 2, they had you find the scarab gun on top of New Mombasa. The same principle would apply here, if you can find it, you can use it! I like this idea since you never got to use these weapons in Halo 1. Also, mabe a limmited amount of battery, just so you can take it for test run on a few covies! If the achievement idea wouldnt work, then just make finding them a secret. Please consider.

Remove offline credit limit in Reach. Make all armor permutations available to offline players. Remember there are members of your community who play offline. Just because they have gone online a couple of times does not mean they will always go online. Don’t shun this part of your community. Don’t force them to play online to unlock equipment. Don’t take away armor, credits or rank if they connect to Live. Be fair.

Also keep the brighter colours of Halo 1, 2 and 3. There can be darker, duller levels too but don’t do a CoD or GTA IV and make the games bland like Reach.

I like the offline idea. Not everyone can play online all the time. Esp if youre a college student and your school has a multi thousand dollar router get FRG’d by a thunderstorm and you dont have internet for the remainder of the semester… just a worst case scenario. lol(it happened to me, so it can happen!) Not being able to play online is a bummer alone… Limiting the game so you HAVE to play online, even for campaign, is a bit lame.

… And I swear to Santa Claus if you force people to pay an extra amount of MS points just to play online like a lot of game companies are doing(IE: Midway/MK9), i will be livid… We pay money every month + your game to have fun online, not to get jerked around and forced to shell out more money and THEN buy your DLC.

Also, if youre going to keep commendations, please add CQC to FF and Campaign and make Driver kills count as assists because it says “Your driving assisted playerGT” Assassinations are in MM, they should be in Campaign and FF as well, bc Assassinating the AI is harder than PC’s because they have to actually turn their back on you first…

Title Update for Reach****

I don’t care about how many ppl complain about AA’s(AL mostly) and Bloom, or even if grenades are mini nukes(You can easily stop spam by placing a filter like a lot of Quake TF Mods did so when a set # of grenades are active on the map, No one can throw anymore.)… But please … if you do ANYTHING to Reach, at the very least fix Bungie’s broken “Challenges”. IDK if it’s a jacked up system, or if someone who works at Bungie has a sub-par home life and theyre taking it out on the player base… xD … but A lot of you will agree, killing 120 Enemies in FF isn’t a challenge, 400 sure. 120 can be done in less than half a game if youre even half decent with a RL/FRG/Sticky in FF Arcade Fight. Anything less than 2000 credits for a daily challenge leaves a lot of high ranks with a bad taste in our mouth. So what if i get 10k off of Daily challenges and the another 30k for the weekly. They have a daily credit cap for a reason. I’ll be back with more once I think of it… :slight_smile:

Thank you! It’s nice to know that there are others on here who agree. I’m in a situation where I can rarely connect to online and really only do so to get DLC or more recently the blue flames. I’ve only had the opportunity to play Matchmaking once in Reach and have had a couple of opportunities to play Campaign while connected. Hopefully 343 will rectify these problems so that those in this type of position will have equal access to armory customization.

Daily challenges: By the time you reach Field Marshall it’s not even worth it anymore. Especially if you have to even go slightly out of your way. My friend who just reached Inheritor hated the credit cap with a passion, when he would play 2 hours and cap. Perhaps a rank based credit payout for challenges? Because really, 1000 credits at a low rank is worth more like 5000 nowadays, and that would be worth attempting to complete as a Mythic who usually gets 4x the credit payout in a single game then from a daily. It seems to me that if nothing the credit cap should be raised to 200k+ at perhaps Eclipse or Forerunner.
