I realize more and more that the Assist medal really gives people incentive to play as a team, it gives you a reason to not try and steal every kill just to rank up and if we knew our teammate’s were helping us when it said; Raskulz Assisted You then we wouldn’t place the blame on them unneccesarily on the wrong people.

There is already an Assist Medal. I suppose it would not hurt to add a little notification telling you who actually assisted you. Good idea.

Need DEdicated servers in H4 Please,since H2 Host is a problem and still is.

Take note of the voice of the community regarding various aspects of the lastest Halo game, ‘Reach’. Use these opinions to fine tune the core elements of upcoming games, so it mainly appeals to the core fan base of the series and not just casual gamers (Thats what the custom games are for!).

Things like opinions on:
-Armor Abilities
-Movement
-graphics (In the way of environment color palette, Spartan look i.e. I prefered Master chiefs armor to any of noble teams, etc)
-Fighting mechanics (bloom, grenade strength, melee bleed-over, specific gun damage to vehicles cough sniper)

and anything in general you see community disputing about.

You can’t make everyone happy, but you can restore Halo to its former glory!

Dear 343,

As much as everyone dislikes Armor Lock and Bloom, please do not fix these. Fix simple things like AFKing or different types of lags and such. Even though people dislike main things like Armor Lock and Bloom, they, and other new changes, are what make up Halo Reach, changing core things like this would throw off how the whole gameplay flow of Reach works. Sword block? Yes, annoying, but thats Reach, with the right timing, you can block this. Bloom, don’t spray, you actually gain TONS and TONS of accuracy with this. you can get so much range on the Assault Rifle or DMR with this, opposed to a general spray circle.

If you read this, please only fix the small things,
AFK
Betraying
Etc.

Things to make people experience funner.
People don’t like core aspects of the game, they should play something else, Welcome to Reach, please just deal with it and stop the complaining. That is all.

I have some suggestions for Reach. (All IMHO)

  • There are some aspects I greatly dislike about Infection. Even today there are still exploitable areas that make the game almost unbearable to play as the zombies. Such as people hiding on top of the center building on the Cage, or people hiding in the lower vent on Swordbase. Behind the glass walls on boardwalk. Hell, even the spawning system feels wrong for the Cage. Zombies have the low ground and are easy targets when the survivors get lined up in certain spots. I think the survivors need to start at the bottom and work their way to the top.

  • Please fix the sword. Of all the weapons that got nerfed, it was by far the worst. The lunge is poor, the strikes feel random and can even kill players when the user dies (happened to me dozens of times on Infection) and the sword block really changes it. It should be able to be toggled. Standard slayer or Invasion and Infection I can deal with it, but on Alpha Zombies when you’re much more vulnerable makes the zombie a bit more useless when the survivors can block their one weapon.

  • We need more Invasion maps. On the gametype list all we can play now is Spire and Boneyard for default Invasion, we have to play premium objectives to play on breakpoint. Bungie once had a contest for Invasion maps. What ever happened to that? Why cant we see those maps for matchmaking? Invasion is a addictive mode for me, but the two maps of choice have gotten stale, it would be nice if we had more.

  • Make Team Classic more classic.

  • Add the Spartans vs Elites Generator Defense as a matchmaking mode, that was a fun addition to the Beta but it didnt return to the retail as a MM gametype.

  • Perhaps add a form of prestige after you hit a certain level like Field Marshal or General. I’m a Legend and the time to progress is so consuming that it’s boring. I’d like to be able to restart my rank…without having to say nasty things or hacking or so on.

  • Maybe add another form of infection that allows the full 16 gamers, call it plague or something.

A gamemode i would really like to see called Dominance…
There are only 2 Teams for this gametype and the maps are fairly large. There are 3 versions of Dominance like Command(like Invasion–but better), Territorial(Just like territories), and Contamination(Infection)

The Red and Blue Team have a Control Center where their armory and vehicles will be. However to make it more fluid there are also Respawn Zones like in Halo Reach (Respawn Zones will depend on author of map). For Objectives the 2 bases will be at the north and south sides of the map and the objectives are in the middle of the map to balance everything out. But what gives a twist to the game is there is a Currency system which will fully be usable throughout the whole game and you will never have to buy it again but you MUST be in the Control Center to buy the items.

Products include:
Weapons
Vehicles
A.A.
Equipment(like Turrets,Barricades,Health Antennas which will heal you when standing next to, etc.)
Soldiers
Fortifications and Upgrades

For Soldiers you can call in any of the following: Spartans, Covenant, and Marines.You also can choose where they will be dropped from the sky but it must be a flat ground. Each soldier has a different price and a limited amount so everyone is not spawning alot of dudes.

Fortifications and Upgrades are perks which can be bought such as improvements for yourself like higher shields or increased speed then for the Control Center perks include shields/defense system for your Control Center.

You get credits by killing people and finishing objectives but you get more depending on your special kill you get like Killing Sprees or Killionare.

You win only by 2 ways: Destroying the enemy Control Center or finish the objectives/capture all the territories.

The Matchmaking Obectives for both the teams can include:
1)Destroy enemy tower(Objective finished when first team destroys enemy’s tower)
2)Capture Neatral Base
3)Capture Intel and return to Control Center

The game will have a time limit leading victory for the team with the most kills and commendations if no other team finishes the objectives or destroys the other team’s Control Centers.

Zombie Mode is where the Blue Team are Flood and only defenders. It’s basically the same thing with the Control Center exept Weapons, Vehicles, and AA’s. However you may not turn into the Flood but your A.I. soldiers will but you do need them for the extra firepower as it will really be needed against the hordes of Flood (Real Life and A.I.) so it’s reccommended to protect them. Flood will have their own perks to buy like wall climbing, faster speed, and other things but only for themself.
For Zombie Mode Objectives:
1)Get a hold of vials and samples from a lab
2)Scavenge parts for the transporter vehicle
3)Wait till vehicle is fully contructed

Now your thinking about having a problem with A.I. in Matchmaking or Custom Games but look at Firefight and plus you can create A.I. Nodes so they set a path they can go(Killing Floor SDK) and they can sense objects so they don’t run into walls.

The game is fully customizable from maps to game variants just like any game variant in Reach for Custom Games.

Objectives will also depend on the author who created the map as they will be able to create their own objectives to the map just hope your friends can balance the map out for the game :slight_smile:

Your thoughts? Plus think of your own objectives I would like to put a list here of some really cool ideas from other people.


EDIT: For some explanations–

Everything has to be balanced. Buying weapons is not going to be that easy. “Now I’m strong” would have already been figured out because your team knows you deserved that weapon cause of the actions you made during the game to help the team win. Powerful weapons arent going to be cheap nothing will. You already need to know what you want to focus your money on even before the game starts. The things you buy will define who you will focus to be as like a “Sniper who buys fortifications for your Control Center.” I mean most gametypes in Halo Reach had to get loadouts especially Invasion where it took time to actually get better loadouts by Phase 3.

Just remember, especially for the kids, they will not get “cool” stuff unless they actually work hard for the team.

It shouldn’t have to lag, I mean the game is going to be very improved and bigger maps will not destroy the game. Look at Battlefield maps those are pretty big but they don’t lag. They can make their maps hold up.

Defense system for the Control Center will all be presets so there will be no Forging. For barricades its different as soon as you buy a barricade from the Control Center just a press of a button on the D-Pad will let you spawn it wherever you want in the map and it will spawn like in halo reach with the halographic animation.


If your doing Halo CEA with 2 disc’s included, reach MP disc and CEA campaign disc, then please make it so the maps are downloadable onto your HDD because I really don’t want to have to switch reach disc’s all the time.

Alright this is purely my opinion, but in the steps moving forward with Halo, please do not continue in the direction Reach went when it came to core gameplay.

While Infection is a great gametype, I find it laughable that it is the most populated playlist in a game that was supposedly made for competitive players(my definition of competitive player is one like myself that finds joy in playing a skillful match and nothing is left to randomness or luck.) and players who just mess around alike.

I miss the days of H2 when both competitive players and non-competitive players could both have fun because the core gameplay was truly enjoyable.

yea, just saying the framerate on the Glacier firefight map is horrible, please fix this in future games. However all the other maps I’ve played are fine

Framerate fixes need to be addressed in the Title Update. The game could look so much smoother. It’s almost there.

To start off I love all the halos. I just like Reach the least because of it’s multi-player. I think Bungie did a good job but it is completely different than any other halo.

This is for Halo 4 and on…

Bloom is a problem to me because it is just frustrating when your reticule is in the perfect spot for a head shot but the bullet goes to a different area in the bloom. I’m just saying bloom wasn’t in the other Halos, why fix what isn’t broken???

I think the animations are cool when you assassinate but i don’t like the feeling of not being able to do anything. It needs to be speeded up and not be so sensitive when you just want to back smack.

Hit Scan is good keep it in!

Jump Height needs to be higher like it used too.

I love how now when you snipe through the body and out of the head it counts as a head shot! Love that!

I don’t really like when you are getting shot how it it moves or pushes you. (I’ve been sniped in the body and it push me off the map several times, dmr too)

Maybe a broader range of weapons? I can tell from the halo 4 trailer that weapons will most likely be customizable. (Pistol in the video)

I know this has been in all the halos pretty much but I think the beat down lunge should be dumbed down a lot! I shouldn’t be able to be a foot away from you and still be able to hit you. I’m guessing that has to auto aim? lol it’s like a super power or something.

Very important is how the frag grenades react to the enviornment, I hate it when i try to bounce a nade and it just stops and gets stuck. They should at least roll as much as the -Yoink!- oddbal! lol have you ever dropped it on a slope? You will spend some time chasing it. -_- Also it seems like they do a lot of damage even if you are barely in its blast radius, it be great if it didn’t do as much damage around the outer most radius of the frag grenade explosion.

Oh and if your going to keep armor abilities…

Then sprint should be fixed to where when you jump off of something and land on the ground and hit the sprint button you don’t start running like a cartoon character where you stay in one spot while running. Same thing with evade, I don’t like rolling in one spot with out any movement. Camo should not fade when you move, it’s only worth getting if your going to be standing still or moving slow.

Personal Preference: I don’t like the other armor abilites. Jet Pack ads a dimension to maps and ruins a lot of them for reasons of how much easier it is to get to certain areas.

The sniper in Reach is too easy to use. Make it like it was in halo 2/3. I’m too damn good with it in Reach lol

I do like health in halo, just the melee is too crappy, I believe it should go threw the shield and to the health if they have previous damage to there shield. That is much more fair than a guy full shield a guy about to be one shot ending up even from trading melees.

The DMR and Pistol just seem like they should have a bigger clip, just a little bit. But that’s only if your keeping in bloom of course.

Oh and I know this next one is a long shot but dedicated servers for Halo would be awesome instead of selecting host. Equal playing field for everyone! :slight_smile:

The armor in Reach is too bulky, everything sticks out too far from the body.

Forge is great, just too much grey, makes it hard to remember the maps that people make, Maybe make it to where you can completely change the color of the object or have an actual picture of the map when in the MM lobby, instead of every custom map having the same picture of Forgeworld.

Firefight voices should be able to be used in MM! It would be hilarious for your spartan to make fun of people for you!:wink:

Sorry this is long but I really love the Halo universe and care deeply for it’s future gameplay in MM. Thank you 343 for taking care of Bungie’s baby, I have faith in you!

I’m a little bit of a n00b (I’ve been playing only since Halo: Reach came out) so I only have the games on the 360. I’m so excited to play Halo: CE soon. That being said, Halo 2 should also be made so people who don’t have the xbox can play Halo 2. I have so many good things to say about Halo. However, one of my favorite parts of Halo is the design of the Covenant. Therefore, I think it would be awesome if there was a game where you played as a Covenant character. I have an idea for that: You play as an Elite Soldier DURING AND AFTER the elites break away from the covenant, and are part of a group of elite soldiers led by The Arbiter (kind of like Carter), and you go through the Campaign both breaking away from and fighting off the Covenant. There are ranks and you can buy armor (because there is different elite armor, and you can expand on that) I don’t know if that was ever tried, but I want to play as an elite because they’re awesome and are good guys in the end.

Playin ODST again and I just wanna point out how I really like the background music when youre playing as the rookie. It kinda reminds me of walking in a shopping mall, but more so it really puts a good feel on the environment. Brings it all together.

If you buy halo 2 you can play it on a 360, I just finished it again as I’m going through all the halos. I think the elite idea sounds pretty awesome, as I always liked the elites for their honor type mentality and how they come thru in the end. But I dont think popular opinion would be strong enough for that to happen sadly.

A forgot to say this: also, make different armor actually DO SOMETHING. I mean, I’m all for ranking up to get new armor, but it takes a really long time (I also think ranking up should be a bit easier), and it would be more worthwhile if it, like, upped your health or shields or something.

I’d just like to repeat something that I said a few weeks ago, just to see if some people think this could be interesting : folders for Halo 4. I have so many forged maps on Reach, and I don’t even remember which ones are made for races, etc… I think this would be good if we could create folders for forged maps : “Infection”, “4vs4 symmetric”, “Race”, etc.

Nope, it has to stay purely visual.
The opposite would be unfair for the new guys.
That being said, more variety would be much better, for sure.

Hi everyone i have a question, will 343i be continuing halo 3 servers because i like halo 3 matchmaking and dont want to see it dissapear like halo 2:( anyone else agree with me?

the security shoulder with the knife could take away the default knife so you use that in assasinations or pressing right on D-pad could let you use a knife as a melee weapon?

i honestly miss the hayabusa armour set…and the kantana
