THE OFFICIAL HALO FEEDBACK THREAD

> As I said in the first post, we’re listening. And thank you to everybody who’s shared their opinions thus far!

Thanks for the reassurance.

I really don’t like how armor lock is abused in Team Slayer.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=16246940&player=SkyFighta65

That is a prime example. Armor Lock just slows gameplay down, and if it’s not gonna change, it at least needs to go from 4v4, and FFA

i think this Thread has a lot to say about what the community wants from the next Halo…(The link is to a post in the multiplayer section of the forums.)

BTW I think the Halo CE remake should just be called “Halo.”

I just thought of something.
In the Book Ghost of Onyx there’s a novel in it called “A Soldier’s Tale: Rainforest Wars”.
It would be cool to read that book.

Revive the Battle Rifle in the next Halo game, and hype it in the same way that Bungie hyped the return of the Assault Rifle for Halo 3. Everyone will love you for it!

Also, in the “Forge World” (no idea what you guys are going to call it) of the next Halo game, give us more variety in the amount of vehicles and the appearance of objects. Constant grey gets a little dull, and it is very dissappointing to not be able to spawn vehicles that were available in Campaign mode.

I have posted quite a few times on this thread. Is there really a limit, or can I keep on churning out ideas?

The limit to how many times you post in this thread is based on the amount of feedback you’d like to share with us. I.E., post away.

The sky is the limit. Also, we want to see nukes in the next Halo, kapeesh bs angel?

Thanks.

How do you link pages? I’m still unsure.

Cool, well here’s another one. In the next Halo game, please make the multiplayer maps unique to multiplayer (not maps taken from Campaign or vice-versa). Having said this, It is still important for said maps to have some sort of fictional relevance, as did the maps in the Defiant DLC. It adds to the scale of the game.

Also, with Forge, try to give us the entire pallet on every map, or at least on the bigger maps. This will vary the Forging environments, and variety is good. Something that made Halo 3 Forge great was the ability to spawn moveable and destructible objects (crates, pallets, barriers etc.). This is lacking in Reach, and has prevented the construction of some very fun maps that were made in Halo 3.

Initially, I wrote this as a response to a Halo: Reach forum thread that said:

> I have recently seen some threads popping up around here about a Halo 4. Well, 343i would have to -blam!- over the Halo universe to create such a thing. Where in the name of God would they come up with a story line for a sequel to Halo 3? Pretty much all the covies are dead, except the now friendly elites, and the flood are gone. Master Chief is floating around in space somewhere, and the UNSC now have nothing left to fight. We would literally have to tear a whole in the entire Halo story line for a Halo 4. I say we pretty much only have an option of doing a prequel. My idea of choice would be a Harvest themed Halo game, but there are other options. Bottom line though: Halo 4 can’t be a sequel.

Here was my response, and I’m pretty proud of it, so I have decided to share it here.

I’ll give you a quick storyline for a sequel to Halo 3 off the top of my head. Remember that planet that Master Chief was drifting towards in the legendary ending of Halo 3? Perhaps after their engagement with and defeat at the hands of the Elite fleet, the remnants of the Brute fleet retreated there and are trying to recuperate. Now leaderless, there is a power struggle between the Chieftans. Once they learn that “The Demon” is on the planet with them, they call a hunt, the tribe that kills him becomes the heirachy.

Halfway through the game, there is a complication. Flood spores came with Chief’s ship to the new planet, and a sleeping Covenant contingent of brutes have been infected. The Flood begin to do what they do best, and infect more and more of the Covenant. As sure as night follows day, a sentinel force arrives to contain this infection. It is at this point in the story when the Chief and Cortana realize that the planet is actually a Forerunner construct, and they begin to look for a way home.

The Sentinels are the dominant force on the planet, numerous in quantity with superior firepower. Designed to carry out an identical function to the Halos, they attempt to wipe out the Flood and their food, meaning that they have targeted the Chief and the Covenant. The Covenant and the Flood are being overwhelmed, but still stubbornly resist. Chief and Cortana realize that any thing on the planet will be mopped up by the sentinels, so they decide to leave without having to worry about wiping out the Flood again. Eventually their search yields success, and they discover a possible way home - a portal.

In an effort to escape while doing as much damage as they can, Chief and Cortana commandeer a Covenant Cruiser and activate the portal (that was initially designed to return the Forerunners to the Milky Way once they had amassed a fleet large enough to defeat the Flood), taking them back within flying range of Earth.

That is what I came up with in 10 minutes. They will be working on Halo 4 for three years.

Not bad huh? Lol.

Also please give us more ranked playlist.

Please make your next Halo game just as replayable as Halo 3 was. I think that Reach relied too much on having the novelty of Armor Abilities. Once that novelty wore off, many people lost interest in the game. I don’t know what it was, but Halo 3 kept me hooked for ages. On both of my accounts, I have played roughly 6000 games of Halo 3. Please make sure that your Halo game can provide constant and addictive entertainment to millions of people for it’s entire lifespan, just as Halo 3 did. Reach is definitely immensely successful, but it failed to live up to the standard that Halo 3 set for the franchise.

xSavi0rzx would you like to be able to play as the flood if so what kind/form ? how many of you would like to play as the flood ?

can we get the halo 1 tank back so we can ride on the side but also have the second gunner seat. I also want to see a come back of the spectre and smg. will the halo campian get another main black character who wont be killed off ? also for a few maps will it be a flood setting like the green mist and flood pod things like in the containment map in halo 3 and to also be able to play as one of the flood combat forms ( elite flood with shields, brute flood, and or human flood) on custom games and not just infection and fire fight. will halo 4 be a 2-24 xbox live/ system link game ?

> xSavi0rzx would you like to be able to play as the flood if so what kind/form ? how many of you would like to play as the flood ?

Playing as the flood could be great, yes.
The first time Bungie talked about infection for Reach, I actually believed zombies were combat form.
And it would be awesome, if made well, I think.

For the next DLC I would like more maps. I didn’t mind having a firefight map but I want it in addition not in place of a MM map. I would actually like 4 MM maps 1 large like Sandtrap and 3 medium to small size maps. With the new 5 vs 5 playlist coming we need more of these kinda of maps. I would also like a Firefight map with a Falcon and regular Warthog.

We need an off-topic section to discuss other games…

in halo 4 will we be able to understand the covenant part way so half alien half english ? if they are in halo 4. Where exactly did the food come from Bungie never said so there could be a whole planet of them or more.

For Halo Reach DLC, I’d actually like to see an “all Firefight” map pack released. More vehicle friendly maps and more indoor maps with tight spaces and lots of chokepoints for multiple strategies and team-work.

I’d also like to see campaign DLC covering some of the action on Reach in the book “Fall of Reach”, but I know that is a pipe dream

For the future of the franchise, I’d like to see a Mass Effect style game set in the Halo Universe. The universe is so huge there is limitless possiblities for this. Maybe something working as an ONI operative, and/or something to do with Forerunner tech/ruins, etc.

I’d also like to see Halo 1 and 2 re-released with Achievements, online coop, Firefight, updated MP maps, etc.

I was thinking the same thing! It would be great to have a more human outlook on the Reach game. Opens up a world of possibilities that are separate but complete related to the Halo fiction.

What ideas would you have for this sort of game?

I can envision military and non military weapons and vehicles not yet seen. Also more urban settings, perhaps city based settings. All along there could be chatter of the impending Covenant war depending on the time frame that everything takes place.

I love the Spartan game play but ODST was a real treat in terms of a change of game style but keeping the Halo Look and feel.
