I have been posting a lot to this thread lately… I hope that’s okay.
Here’s a thread I made (I copied and pasted into this).

I have an idea for firefight in either reach or halo 4 where you go into firefight and fight to control certain areas, kinda a mix between campaign and invasion. Much harder though. After taking over certain areas, you will get more weapons and vehicles just like invasion. I’d find this a lot of fun to do if you had a lot of customisation and for people who don’t have XBL, it would give the game an extra while before they get bored.What do you think of the idea?

Vehicle Concept for new Halo trilogy (4, 5, and 6):

A Mech. No, seriously. A Mechanized Power Suit, similar to the EPA’s from the F.E.A.R. games.

Now bare with me. I don’t mean MJOLNIR Armor, not the armor you wear already. Instead, I mean something big and bulky with crazy guns, something similar to the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I Prototype Armor from Halo: Legends. It could probably be considered a 1-Person vehicle. The only difference between this armor and your normal player armor is that this Mech is much taller and wider (exposing yourself as a bigger target), you move half the default walking speed, you cannot pick-up weapons in this (seeing as that this is just one giant vehicle), and this giant Mech comes with pre-installed weapons (infinite ammo, I assume). It could possibly have a chaingun for one hand, and then a missle launcher as the other. To help make it not-so noobish, the chaingun could overheat, and the launcher could have a lengthy reload time. I think the Mech could also have its OWN shields, so when combined with your own, it’s like having 2x shields!

I would really like to see the Clan feature return to Halo 4. I believe a feature like this could bring the Halo community back together.

You guys should remake the original Halo boxart as a promotional image for Anniversary.

personally, i miss the tertiary color that banded the arm and leg of the halo 3 spartan. and the fact that one’s emblem is this little spec not visable normally is annoying, it ought to be on the shoulder(s). that would make the title update completley worthwhile, personally

I don’t like it all cluttered in the one place. I also don’t like the way it’s broken into groups like ‘General Discussion’ and ‘Forge’.

I like the current forum but I would much prefer it this way.

What do you think?

ditch the majority of armor abilities.

this wouldnt even need to be explained in the story because reach fell, and was a prequel. the bloom could be explained as the spartans from reach were weaker than mc. they were spartan III, he is a spartan II like jorge. they also didnt have an on board ai like cortana.

for reach being as good as it was, it scared off a lot of people from the halo series/franchise. many complaints came from the bloom and armor crowd. i dont want to see mc go down the same route. for myself, because it would make absolutely NO SENSE what so ever that mc will wake up in space, and magically have his systems downgraded and all the equipment from reach which happened prior to even halo 1.

also, i like ditching the numbered ranks, so its just perpetual that you’re always moving up. although the challenges can be pretty tedious sometimes, and not worth the credits, i like the idea but want more of a reward. or at least regular once a day (every other weekend, or every day with a 7 in it as a tribute to bungie) 30k cr jackpots. that would take the edge off.

i’m positive i have more, but that’s all for now.

can there be a stickied thread in the Gen Discussion for Important Halo news outside of Halo Waypoint. Such as if news comes up on IGN.com, or others. I like to stay as up to date as i can on Halo and this would help alot :slight_smile:

Can the loggin process be fixed? I keep myself logged in (remember me) and an error will come up when i click forums saying HTTP error can go to page does not exist. If i go to community click on a forum thread it will go to forums, but i have to log in again. Can this be fixed in the final version? Thanks

Please PLEASE PLEASE recapture the magic of Halo 1 and 2. That’s all I ask. I knwo a lot of these forum dwellers don’t know what that magic is as they’ve never played the games, make this an opportunity to make a fun competitive game that is also casual player friendly. All I ask. <3

Let me start with: I LOVE HALO: REACH!!!

IMO, it’s a lot more fun than Halo 3 due to: Forge, Better Custom Games, and the overall gameplay. I love AA’s.

Ideas:

  1. Please get better maps. The maps in the map packs were good. I like Halo Reach’s maps, but I liked Halo 3’s maps more. Is there any way that you can put all of Halo 3’s maps and put them into Reach. I don’t care if the map graphics are the same, I just want the map. The maps that I want in particular are: Valhalla, Sandtrap, and Sandbox.

  2. Re-introduce some vehicles: At least let us use them in custom games: Elephant, Chopper, Falcon (5 seats total, Driver can shoot, have the falcons with machine-gun turrets and have falcons with grenade launcher turrets on the sides), Hornet (Both types). Also, it would be cool if we could use phantoms, pelicans, and scarabs in custom games.

  3. Re-introduce some weapons: Beam Rifle (Focus rifle is a lot weaker than Human sniper, it’s not fair for invasion slayer), SMG, Mauler, Carbine

  4. Give us the option to toggle duel-wielding on or off in custom games. It would be better if we were allowed to use it in match-making though. Duel-wielding was one of the things that made Halo special. I use “Recon” control scheme and I don’t mind if I have to press RB to reload right gun and X to reload the left gun. Plus, duel wielding pistols or smgs while jetpacking is badass.

  5. Armor Lock: I don’t really have a problem with this except when it’s abused. A.K.A. Spamming: They hit you, you hit them, they go into AL for .01, you get stunned, they get out and kill you. Make it so that the emp and stun effect will only take place if the person was in Armor Lock for at least 1/4 to 1/2 its duration to prevent spamming.

  6. Sometimes I like to drive a vehicle in first person. So give us the option to toggle between 3rd and 1st person when ever we are riding a vehicle or using a turret. Ex: I’m driving a banshee, I press right on the D-pad, I fly the Banshee in first person and see things from inside the cockpit.

  7. I noticed that if you’re in a falcon and it flips upside down while you’re in the gunner, the machine-gun turret goes upside-down while the ground is on the bottom of the screen and the sky is still on top.
    It should be the opposite to keep the first person feeling. Instead, the turret should still be where it’s supposed to be and the rest of the map should appear upside down instead of the other way around.
    If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go into forge, have someone go into a falcons turret while someone is holding the falcon in ball form, then flip the falcon. The person in the falcon will see what I’m talking about.

  8. We should be able to toggle it so that when we die, we die in first person.

  9. In Matchmaking, if you press start and go to “player” (the thing that you go to determine whether you’re a Male or Female, or Elite or Spartan) , there should be an option that you turn on or off that asks whether you’d rather keep your colors in a team based match or rather you’d have the automatic team colors (Red or Blue). If more than half the people in the game have the option toggled so that you keep your customized colors in a team-based game, then everyone will have the colors that they chose for their Spartan. You can still tell who’s your enemy and who’s your friend because:

You can only see your friends’ waypoint
Your friend’s name is green and the aimer turns green when you aim at them.
Your enemy’s name is red and the ’ aimer turns red when you aim at them.

  1. Reach is the best game I’ve ever played. I know most of my requests take lots of work but at least do: 4,6,7,9

I’ve been playing a lot of campaign lately and you know what I noticed. Each game the enemy AI is improved but the ally AI seems identical in all of them. That is to say it seems as though everyone you work with were simultaneously dropped on their heads during a lobotomy. None of them are capable of performing the simplest of tasks. This needs to be fixed in future installments.

Still no mention of the GRD helmet question in the most recent bulletin, not even a tease. Wish there was some response in a future bulletin.

Hmm, so BS Angel watches this thread the most? That’s good to know. Here’s a short list of things I hope you keep in mind:

-Healthy mix of symmetric and asymmetric maps, each with their own unique atmosphere.

-Quick kill times.

-Proper utility weapon.

-No bloom.

-Recharging health.

-Long Campaign.

-Matchmaking has DISTINCT Ranked and Social playlists.

-Custom Games aren’t missing any options from before, and make sure the options you include actually work.

-Forge. If you include it, try to give us a canvas space for it. Please don’t make it huge and unreliable for splitscreen gameplay like Forge World.

-Theater. If you include it, make sure it’s AT LEAST as good as Halo 3. Don’t go by ODST Theater (which has no rewind) or Reach Theater (no party viewing, no scoreboard screenshots and a broken third person camera.) Heck, I’d be happy if you just cut and pasted Halo 3 Theater code. Please don’t downgrade.

Please at least give this a read.

Please make it so 4 or possibly more people could join theatre mode.

Alright. I was playing Long Night of Solace and I came across an issue I’ve had with every Halo game besides the first: opponents having long-range weapons with which to fight. It limits the options of the player to use in an encounter; it limits the sandbox.

Let me explain. You know that first encounter on the Covenant corvette, in the Firefight area, where you have to push a button on the other side of the map to let the Pelican in? Well, if I want to try to work my way through the fight with a plasma pistol or a plasma rifle, I can’t because of the Elite in the back with a Focus rifle hitting me from long range. It’s impossible for me to use the weapons I enjoy and get through the encounter. (Or rather, it becomes so frustrating and not fun that it may as well be impossible).

Whatever antagonist(s) you guys plan on having in Halo 4, please don’t give 'em long-range weapons.

If Halo 4 has forge, the ability to “test” your map within forge would be really handy.

Currently if you want to see how it plays in Slayer, or Infection or whatever gametype, you have to exit forge and switch to the custom games lobby. However if there were some option when you press start to playtest your map, that would be much appreciated.
