-The first and most important thing is an awesome capaign with a non-cannon breaking, breath-taking story line and the return of the Halo feel which I deeply missed in the past two Halo games.
- Modes in the game:
- Campaign
- MatchMaking
- Custom Games
- Forge
- FireFight
- Theater
- I think a new game mode will be very welcome, but it shouldn’t be anything we can expect. Make it different.
-MatchMaking Improvements:
-
AFK mode- when turned on, a player will take extra time to respawn, therefore he will not be an asset to the opposing team. When turned on, this option will exit to the Halo 4 menu after finishing the game. This will allow players to stop playing without having to quit and ruin every one’s connection.
-
Map specific actions. Some maps should have unique things happening in them. For example, someone in the Bungie Forums suggested that a map will be made on the Forward Unto Dawn as it aproaches the forerunner world, with the time ending in the match as the ship enters the planet (http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=63011418).
-FireFight Suggestions:
Make it more like ODST and less like Reach. In ODST it felt like a real survival mode, but in Reach it felt like an Arcade mode more than anything else.
-Forge Suggestions:
A thread was made in the Forge section here on Waypoint with some great suggestions (http://halo.xbox.com/forums/games/f/9/t/7540.aspx?PageIndex=1), here are some of my own-
1.Interactable- as a new item option. Whe this is turned on the item will fly around the map if you shoot it with rockets or splatters or grenades and stuff and you could spawn thing way up in the air (instead of them spawning where they hit the floor) that way you could make maps with meteor showers (falling rocks) and stuff like that. This could add a ton of much needed creativity in to forge.
-
Despawn- this is very much needed, for creativity again.
-
Multiple pallets: Each wall will have a forerunner look, a human look and more (possible convenant look, wilderness look with vines and stuff, ruins look and so on). There is no need for more than two, but it will be nice to have more variety in that point. 343 will bearly even have to change the model, just its textures, to give it a different look.
-
Monitor Armory- 'Nuff said. Here you can right your name which will work like a tag (for example 343 Guilty Spark)- first select a number and then two words (adj. and verb or whatever). Then you should be able to change the color of the light you emanate, some basic shapes and even some armor effects. Just basic stuff but still awesome stuff.
-
Monitors in Custom Games- most people don’t know this, but in H:R the monitor can shoot a focus rifle beam for a fraction of a second after changing from human to monitor (I have a screenshot of it somewhere). Why not make it a turn on turn off option for Custom Games? How about you give us an option to use these guys like we can use elites? Maybe even have a mode where its basically juggernaught, just the juggernaught is a monitor that can use his lasor. Maybe a mode where everyone is a monitor without shields and with lasors turned on. (Obviously you can’t spawn stuff in custom games though).
New Game Mode Idea-
War Mode
This is a mode that follows all the awesome battles in the Halo Universe, and lets you experience them from first person. This will have the highest possible amount of players per match (at least 8 vs. 8, hopefully much, MUCH more). War (maps) examples- Battle of Installation 04, The Ark, Battle of Harvest, Battle of New Mombassa, the Fall of Reach, Forerunner/Flood War and more…
This mode will pit two armies against each other. Most of the time, it will be UNSC vs. Covenant, but sometimes, it can be Covenant versus flood (as they take High Charity for instance) or humans vs. Flood or even Forerunners vs. Flood. It will detail the wars as they truely happened historically.
[This next idea should only be if the player cap will not be as high as, say 30 vs. 30.] In this mode, every player will be the leader of a squad of 3 AIs (marines, grunts, minor flood, sentinels and what not) and there will be some strategy to it. Like changing their actions and reactions by setting them on offensive and defensive modes.
In this game mode, there will be scoring, much like FireFight, except you get to buy things with the points (or credits) you get. For instance, you got a killing spree? Now you’ve got enough points to call reinforcements if your squad has died. Got a Killtacular? Now you got enough creds to get a drop pod with a sniper rifle in it. Got 10,000 points? Have a scorpion! Its unbalanced in a fun kind of way. Got 2,000 credits when you play as the covies, you get a hunter squad member. Everything will still be very linear and very Halo. And very unlike COD (which I hate by the way).
The battlefields will be HUGE. There will not be a lot of them, but each one will represent a different environment type and a different gameplay aspect. One will be a space battle above Reach, one will be a tight combat type of game in the forests of a Halo ring, one will be focused on vehicles and will be set in the streets of a city.
There’s more to my idea, but this is the basic thing.
