THE OFFICIAL HALO FEEDBACK THREAD

Dear 343,

I would really like to see a few things for Reach’s multiplayer before Halo 4 comes out.

  1. More cR - At this point, it would be unreasonable, if even possible, for someone starting to have even a glimmer of hope of achieving the Inheritor rank. While it certainly isn’t something that everyone is entitled to, it would be nice to see a significant increase in cR gains, to at least make such a thing plausible for Halo’s faithful.

  2. A few more Spartan pieces - The “World” Helmet would just be awesome, a sort of goodbye to Bungie and an ushering-in of things new. Similarly, the “BOB” Helmet from the Defiant Map Pack screenshots would be pretty sweet. Beyond that, I would KILL for a T-shaped Visor, similar to Boba Fett. Oh, and a Red Visor would be cool, as well!

  3. Beaver Creek - Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love 2v2 matches. Thing is, most of the maps feel way too large for such a style of gameplay; my bringing back this classic map, it gives smaller groups the same high-octane encounters, but allows for a much more personal experience.

That’s it for me!

P.S. And Hayabusa Armor, if possible!

Beaver Creek is coming back with Halo CEA. It’s one of the classic maps.

I would like to see different helmets have different visor outlines from the inside view. Like The difference in Halo 3 and ODST.

Don’t use 1 single thing from Reach on Halo 4’s multiplayer.

Bloom is a flawed mechanic and you know it. It needs to be fixed.

Our armour doing what the description says. Like maybe the Air Assault helmet takes away 5% cfall damage, or the Sniper shoulder allowing us to carry more ammo for the Sniper. Stuff like that could make the game really interesting.

For Campaign only though. If they done that for match making everyone would look like a fool. Like most characters on RPGs.

I have a couple suggestions here. First of all, I think that infection as a game type has potential. However, it needs some work. If possible for upcoming titles, give it a flood theme. Maybe make the zombies flood combat forms instead of green guys with energy swords. The end result could be a little more similar to invasion than what exists of it now. Speaking of which, PLEASE, JUST GIVE THE PLAYERS THEIR OWN ARMOR COLORS FOR INVASION. This isn’t very much to ask at all, and if the player cannot tell the difference between a six-foot tall spartan and and eight-foot tall elite, they probably have bigger problems than that to deal with. Also, and this is my biggest request; a title based around the Spartan I Program could be cool. Sort of a similar aesthetic to ODST, but without the super-powered ammo sponge enemies (I’m looking at you, every single Brute in that game). You could fight insurrectionists instead, and maybe have an portion at the end talking about making contact on Harvest. I don’t know, just a thought.

As a whole, I really like all of the Halo games. Yeah, the flood levels are grueling if they aren’t done right (ahem the library), and my main complaint about Halo: ODST, the only game that really breaks the mold in terms of general mood and storytelling (both aspects of which are AMAZING, by the way) is that the enemies and weapons were not properly balanced, which led to encouraging the player to fight enemies up close, and to use the enemies’ weapons, two things that kind of clash with the way a covert, specially-equipped team of shock troops would operate. So yeah, a few things to think about for the future. TL;DR, I know, but, I appreciate your time, so, thanks for reading!

Yes, more armor customization with benefits(even if only in campaign) please…!!!

AL eww
Bloom eww
Nerfed jump height and speed eww

That’s all. I prefer the classic halo games to Reach.

There are hundreds - if not thousands - of threads here and on Bnet that already go into detail as to why Armor Lock is a bad idea. Pressing a button for invincibility in a shooter is a terrible idea, no matter what.

I love Halo! I own every game and trust me, Halo:Reach wasn’t a let down. It was an epic story even if it didn’t directly involve Sierra 117. I loved that this game was able to branch out and show more of the halo universe. I really look forward to Halo 4 and the trilogy that comes from it. (And would like to suggest ideas for later game installments that branches off similar to ODST, like one based off Ghosts of Onyx or even show earlier pre-covenant deployments of SPARTAN II’s against insurrectionists that are still squad based like Reach)

Reach
Pros)

  1. Firefight - I love that the firefight idea from ODST could be taken to the next level with spartans against impossible odds XD
  2. Visuals - In all modes of Reach (Campaign,MM, FF) the envirornments and characters are stunning. This is more then just a game. It’s art.
  3. The story - Was absolutely great. Emile’s death wasn’t as epic as the others…
  4. Amour Abilities - So cool, don’t get me started. Adds so much fun and strategy to all modes.
  5. Adding the Skirmishers - Cousin to the Jackels, total pain in my butt 99% of the time, but it was night to see a new .species in Halo that wasn’t way out there crazy/

Cons)

  1. Focus Rifle = Big let down. Didn’t replace the beam rifle. In future installments, try not to repeat.
  2. Armour Lock - Actually not that bad. Great for BTB, especially when base is being overrun by vehicles. But it gets abused alot, if added in future installments, maybe think about making it only usable once per charge. (Active for the same length of time, but only once per charge. Can hold down the button for it as long as it will let you, but once you let it go, you are done until it recharges…)
  3. Not enough vehicles in firefight… Plain and simple. We want vehicles!

Epic Suggestion (343i please read!)
[I read at the beginning of this post that opinions are welcomed, and this brings a tear of joy rolling down my cheek, I hope it is true]

  1. Bring back Halo VideoMaster Achievements! - Vidmaster achievements, oh man - where to begin? They have been some of the most challanging, yet fun and rewarding times I had on Halo 3 and ODST. Please 343i… Please… You have the power to bring them back. Do with Halo CE Anniversary and Reach what Bungie did with Halo 3 and ODST. Bring them back. The halo community will suprise you with the results!!! =]

Another Epic Suggestion
(Sorry, I totally forgot to add this one in)
2) Halo 2 Clan System - Was totally awsome. There actually were clans not just nerds going around making up “clans” and having people “join” with nothing to back it up… Bring it back!

Thank you 343 for being active on the forums.

I love Halo. Played since CE. All the Halos except Halo Reach had one thing in common. Skill. Skill was a key asset(in social it was dumbed down which was great!). You could be a competitive player. Earn skill, talk trash, brag. Just like it should be. But you could also be social and just have real fun and not necessarily care about winning. The best of both worlds if you ask me! One day you could be the hardcore Halo player. The next you just want to relax and play some socials. But I feel that the latest game (H:R) fell a little short from its peers. And that it did not justify neither of the hardcore or casual audience.

I am neither a hardcore or casual player. I am somewhat in between. But when I play “Hardcore” in Reach. I feel like luck takes up to much space in the picture, than skill. Which is not what Halo previously was in large part all about and luck should not be a part of a competitive FPS. I don´t mind change at all, but it should be in a “two sided manner”. So to speak. If you can play casual you should also be able to play competitive. I fell like Reach was only a social game due to all of the implemented luck factors.

What I would like to see is for Halo to return to its roots. To what made the Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2 and Halo 3. So popular, so social and so competitive.

Make Halo 4 have the “Best from both worlds”.

Please remember this is by no means a complaint, but construct Critizisme for the franchise I know and love. And that it is all my opinion.

Thank you.

<3 343.

Please bring back VIP in the TU, 343i, as well as other options. It would be very appreciated.

Hello 343i, I would LOVE to see these 3 playlists implimented in the TU:

*an elite playlist- which would have elites vs elites. Supports slayer and objective gametypes.

*spartans vs elites playlist- which would have a team of spartans vs a team of elites (like the beta). Supports slayer and objective gametypes.

*heretic playlist- which would have elites vs elites, but everyone spawns with human weapons. Supports slayer and objective gametypes.

If these cannot become playlists, I would still like to see these gametypes implimented. I was also thinking that co-species could be implimented as well (the ability to become your preferred species in matchmaking), like halo 3 had (that was fun).

Thanks for reading,

<3 THEscourse

Remember what made it so good in the first place.

Solid basic mechanics of the gunplay. If the core ‘30 seconds gameplay’ is not right, the following hours and days of repeating it will not sit well with people.

Mould was broken first time around, HCEA is going to open a lot of people up to that. If that core basic gameplay gets remembered for the next series, you can not go wrong.

Thanks

I have been a long time Halo fan since Combat Evolved was first released. Halo was the reason I bought an Xbox and I never went back. I just watched the Comic-Con Campaign Demo and I just wanted to commend you for what a wonderful job you have done on it. It looks like it plays exactly like the original. You don’t know how happy this makes me. Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to make it great.

Sincerely,
Juggernaut182
