That’d be fantastic! I really fail to understand why Bungie removed a really great theater feature in Halo 3 when making Reach… Oh well, I hope it makes a return for Halo 4!
agreed

I’m assuming the Flood will play a big part in the new trilogy, as it progresses, and so I think they should be expanded upon. I feel that there’s so much creative potential in the parasitic race, and it would be great to see some truly amazing Flood forms that provide fresh new challenges, and just look look disturbing. We should have smaller, nimble, creatures, airborne forms, burrowers; and hulking behemoths that casts shadows over you. I would love a form that prides on stealthy hunting. How about creating special, pure, Flood forms that display intelligence, which would open up new and interesting opportunities. Halo Legends fleshed out the Flood a bit more, and it would be great to see that carry over to Halo 4-6. Explore the ominous, and powerful, Gravemind, too. Oh, and adding more variety in terms of long-range and close combat methods of attack would also be welcome (extremely savage Flood, with razor sharp claws, or airborne forms that drop some form of bomb). This is an enemy that is a potential threat to Galaxies, and they deserve a truly horrifying, and foreboding, presence. Tap into their might, 343… please.
Also, I would like Flood levels more akin to ‘The Mona Lisa’ motion comic. I want to feel nervous when progressing through a Flood infested location. Ambient sound, and lighting, would go along way. Obviously not all of them would be like that, but I’d welcome a couple.
Another thing, I know it’s difficult to depict the sheer numbers of the Flood without the use of cutscenes, but it’d be cool if you could better allude to how many were attacking during levels. Maybe it could be presented in the background, like in Reach when you saw the scarabs fighting out in the horizon. Maybe you could look into the distance and watch an army of Flood launching an attack, or something. Comm chatter helps as well. Maybe your newly improved Reach engine could cater to those kinds of demands. If anything, you could go all out in some grand cinematic.
One last thing would be the way Flood victims mutate. Make it more horrific, and disturbing.
I have 3 main requests, and these are all things than cannot be fixed in Custom Games:
- Change DMR bloom. It just doesn’t work and actually promotes spamming.
- Completely change the vehicles; Nerf the Banshee Bomb, buff its Plasma Cannons, remove the ghost 'splodin capabilities of Armor Lock, fix the Revenant glitches - both the auto-aim side seat AND the random wild flipping that happens mostly on forged pieces - for good, stop the Gauss Cannon from shooting through walls, buff the Mongoose’s overall damage tolerance and PLEASE, DEAR GOD PLEASE NERF THE VEHICLE DESTROYING CAPABILITIES OF THE DAMN DMR AND SNIPER!
- Last but not least remove - or at least make an option for - bleedthrough, as after a neutral melee it puts two players on a level playing field even if one got the jump on the other.
A final request, if I was granted one, would be simply to nerf grenades. Blast Radius is fine, damage not so much.
All the best!

There are a few things that have been bugging me that could be fixed in a title update.
-
Teleporters. No matter how many times I place a teleporter, it always seems to be wrong. I can enter facing forward and come out facing backward, so you think “OK, just turn the ‘erciver’ around” Nope! when you do that you come out facing the right direction but you are moving backwards when you exit. So you go turn the “sender” around, you come out going the right direction, but you are facing backward agian! It is a pain!
-
The Rocket Hog. When you are firing the rocket turet, it firers six rockets, it cools down, you fire agian. But, if you are driving around rocks and other cover you can’t stop firing once you start, resulting in blowing you and you driver into space, not fun. I think it would be better if you could fire one rocket at a time, or all at once. That way you don’t get killed by your gunner as often.
That’s all I can think of right now, but I’m sure I will find more to complain about
This might be really controversial, but here goes nothing:
I think the Flood need another chance.
I know, I know, NOBODY likes the Flood (Myself included), but I believe that to be more the fault of not correctly implementing them into the gameplay. There is so much potential for there to be a truly menacing and fearsome enemy, but the Flood have just been so annoying that this potential hasn’t been properly put into place. If 343i could somehow find a decent way of exploring the Flood, their origins, motives, further story behind the Gravemind, etc. AND somehow make the Flood FUN to fight at the same time, then I would be completely willing to fight them all-over again.
I want to know more about the Flood, I really do. It’s just that I can’t be bothered because they are just not fun to fight. 343i, if the Flood are to be included in H4, PLEASE find a way to make them fun to play against, flesh out their story. It could be a very interesting one, after all.
Since I like forging and making machinima I would like to ask if we can have more forging options with different textures, with perhaps civilian vehicles.
I think for a title update, nerfing the splash bomb radius of the Banshee is needed. Also limit the amount of flips it can do. I’ve seen someone for three minutes just flipping and doing barrel rolls. This is ridicolous and if someone does a flip, it should take a quarter of the speed meter up.
Im not sure how you will continue the series, the flood is supposed to be whiped out, and the covenant is no more. Unless the arbiter gets angry at the chief for some reason im not sure what will happen. (ARBITER BETTER BE IN THESE GAMES
) But so much happend in halo 3, Johnson died, 343 guilty spark got owned. I am assuming you guys are making many new forms of sentinals. However if the covenant are involved somehow I have a suggestion for a medal. If you kill a bugger, or drone, by punching it, you should get a medal called ‘Fly swatter’.
Also Forge 2.0, Fire Fight 2.0 and Custom games ( with halo 3’s alpha zombie) That is all
If you are going to do anything about betrayal booting, it should be made to be more intelligent. It is OBVIOUS even to a game engine when someone is being betrayed in many cases, as there are no enemies around. In those cases, the player should be given the boot option. In a case where there is a fire fight taking place, the boot option should never be presented. Finally, if someone is harassing his team mates, the rest of the team should have a way of booting that one player.
Are you guys even going to address the HALO: CE multiplayer petition located here:
http://halo.xbox.com/forums/games/f/7/t/7188.aspx?PageIndex=67
I’m just curious, a definite yes or no will work. If no, then I’ll just be sure to never purchase another Halo title again, as well will many thousands of others. Just wanna know. ya know?
Halo Reach/Halo Anniversary Multiplayer:
-
Completely rework Armor Abilities. Make it so there is an option in custom games for them to drop after the person using them is killed. And then, all gametypes in MM should get tweaked in such in regards to AA’s: AA’s should be map pick ups, and placed on the maps as points of contention with fairly long respawn times (120-180), it should be set so that when a person dies their AA falls off their body and is reusable, no player should spawn with AA’s, and there should be 3-4 AA’s on each map (about). Finally, each AA should have a very obvious visual indicator to let other players know a player is using a particular AA. In order to satisfy players that like the current Reach, there also could be gametypes in playlists in which you still spawn with AA’s. But honestly, they just don’t work off-spawn. Period.
-
Custom Options as follows: to tweak and remove bloom, and bloom should be removed on all single shot weapons in MM and reduced by at least half on all other weapons. Grenade options (damage, radius, bouncing, range, etc). Bleed-through option. Sword Block option. Ability to regenerate health without health pack. Fall damage. Etc. (okay, so this one is kind of several changes, but you know).
-
Individual Weapon Modifiers. Would solve so many freaking issues.
-
Rework vehicles. Ghost needs a buff (both in terms of damage and health), Warthog needs overheat removed, Banshee needs serious nerf, Revenant needs buff, DMR and Sniper need to do less damage to vehicles. Custom option should be added so that vehicle health works more like in Halo 3, or at least so the way the player takes damage is tweakable.
-
Increase kill times for non-power weapons to Halo 2ish levels, increase player speed and jump. In particular with weapon damage increase, buff the Plasma Repeater, Spiker, AR, Needler, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, and Needle Rifle (Plasma Repeater, Needler, and Plasma Pistol were perfect in the Beta). Also buff Plasma Launcher so it’s between the death-cannon it was in the Beta and the Why-did-I-pick-this-up?-piece-of-crap it is now.
Do all these and Reach becomes close to the best Halo of all time. I don’t know if you guys have those kind of kahona’s though, because those are some serious tweaks.
For Halo 4: make it your own, make it fun to play, and make it so everyone has something for them. Finally, don’t give up on a really cool idea because it’s hard. Halo 2, 3, and Reach had so many cool ideas that got shot down. Do everything possible to keep those in. I have faith, so I’ll leave it at that.
I guess if you’re willing to hear my opinions:
Allow multiple playstyles to co-exist in the game. I like being able to use any weapon on the map or loadout and have a chance at beating someone else, don’t let things come down to a one gun gamestlye where the weapon is a jack of all trades.
In each Halo game there is some new addition that tries to raise the bar for First person shooters. In Halo 2 it was duel weilding and destuctable enviroments in match making. In Halo 3 it was equipment and barriers, (switches that blocked parts of the map etc.) in Halo: ODST firefight was created and in Halo Reach there are armor abilities. I’m always interested in what the franchises trys to do next in evolving the game but I wish for them to be beneficial and not feel like a gimmick, keep things simple. If the core game mechanics are great theres always time to add onto it later (DLC etc.).
Bring back vehicle combat. I know thats easier said than done but since Halo 3 its almost impossible to get into a vechicle and enjoy the ride without things like AL, plasma stun, spartan lasers, missle pods, power drainers you get the point. (I was adding Halo 3 examples intentionally). And if your going to do what Bungie did and make a big deal out of things like a forklift and civillian vehicles…can you let us use them in custom games and forge? I be tons of people would like to have forklift battles or pick up truck races.
An important aspect to the franchise is developing a ground breaking campaign. Bring back that spark that Halo CE brought to the table. Add those moments where your there for the ride and not make things feel like a chore on levels. I want to care for the characters and Halo Reach failed to give me reason to feel for Noble Team. there are many great examples of character development in videogames look to them for inspiration (if I need to post examples I will at a later date). A memorable campaign extends the life of this franchise for years to come and can bring new fans to the table. If it’s complex enough and emotionaly driven at parts of the game it can bring non Halo fans on board possibly, where most summaries of the Halo games can be summed as: super soldier blows up rings to save everyone from space zombies. (I know its much more than that but thats what I usually hear form those who think Halo is simple minded for trigger happy bafoons).
I would not mind buying side story games. Now hear me out on this. What if there was a game surrounding the History of the Covenant? In Halo 2 when we play the Arbiters perspective, the Prophet of Truth shows him the history of the Covenant breifly. He explains things like The Grunt Rebellion and Tamming of the Hunters, how each event pertained to a previous Arbiter. In the collectors ediiton I know why more of it was cut out but this is somehting I always wanted to relive. Playing past Arbiters you could play missions where you try to force other races to join the Covenant etc. ODST was a great success and showed a neat perspective so theres always stories we can tell and engage in.
Love what Halo is doing with armor variants and adding more never hurts. I think some in question look ridiculous and serve no pratical purpose but hey if somoen likes the Lunchbox helmet (GUNGNIR) they can wear it. I also enjoy the colors in Reach and Halo CE. Armor Effects need improvements for me to wish to purchase them. Maybe somthing silly and fun could work, like when sprinting you have a small rainbow streak behind you. Or when you shoot a plasma weapon it shoots a different color.
This paragraph will be a two parter. In the next Halo game: make memorable maps the Defiant map pack was a great step in the nice direction. Grabbing parts of the campaign and using them as multiplayer maps is lazy and forgettable in my opinion. look how often people talk about maps like Headlong, Turf, Hang’em High Highgrounds, The Pit, Relic etc. I doubt many will talk about Reach maps and will only remmebr that half of them had a lot of gray walls. The other request or feedback is forge. I love the direction it is taking and am happy to finally become a forger. I was never able to do so in Halo 3 because it easily fustrated me. Forge in Reach made it more user friendly and accessable to everyone. That being said I would enjoy larger selection of asethetic objects or some more color in my walls. I know depending on the texture and the complexity of the geometry the harder strain it is on the loading but i’m not asking for a work of art, just something beyond gray wall of death. Infact I would gladly pay for forge World sets. One forge world would be like it is now, on a Halo instillation/Island paradise, while another would be a forge world you load that has a vast winter wonderland. another could be a city and another a Dessert. For the love of god in the next Forge improvement: can I please delete a tree when its sticking into my map? It’s very distracting to have to work around the enviroment when 90% of the map looks great except for that one damn tree that sticks out of the wall.
Halowaypoint is doing great so far. I love the community an enjoy checking in each week on xbl to see the animated comics, Fails, lore, commentary and content we all get for free. I would love another Halo evolutions novel with those side stories and expanding the universe. I hope in Halo 4 we can fight a whole new race of aliens. I see why not, the world is vast enough it can always expand and there could be a whole new threat that was isolated to its own universe until humanity and the Covenant stumbled upon it.
Last but not least: bring back custom game options and variants. Nothing has captured more of my time in Halo games than to spend hours playing care free creative custom games with a bunch of nobodies. Halo 2 probably has some of the best moments of fun I had pertaining to that. And please allow us to lower our guns over xbox live. The excuses so far for it not being implemented are poor at best and it would help a strong community to get back on its feet (not to say machinima is dead but it would get some people back into making it myself included). anything you can do to help the machinima community would be greatly appreciated. We may not all be like Rooster Teeth but its a great experience to be a part of.
I appreciate you for reading all I have to say and hope the series continues to strive and prosper.
BTW: Am I too late for a Vergil plushie? I would kill to have one, that and a Hunter plushie. : 3
AA should be gone from MM except sprint for spartans and evade for elites. A water vehicle qould be nice, for instance the Unsc Turtle. 1 driver with a platfrom for carrying infantry and even small-medium vehicles. The platform would have small walls that would give cover if you crouch, then in the back a variable turret. Also another turret idea: Mortar.
I agree with what Hobanis said. It was a very long post, but it was definitely worth reading.
Please 343, keep the grenade launcher.
I have so much fun with this weapon in Reach, and it’s actually perfect the way it is, in my opinion.

Sorry, I didn’t see this thread before I posted a separate thread about this, so I’ll just copy and paste it here:
> I’d like to suggest something that I feel your title update needs to address, and that is the HDD issues. The issues I am talking about are the ones dealing with the new models of Xbox 360s , in that they are unable to use several features Halo Reach offers because of the difference between their HDDs and those of the original 360s. These include (and may not be limited to) not being able to play co-op firefight with friends or in matchmaking, not being able to play co-op campaign with friends or in matchmaking, not having use of a file share, not being able to see other player’s file shares, and not being able to download custom content (at least through the file browser).
>
> My girlfriend recently got the new Xbox 360 model, and we love playing halo together, but it sucks that we are limited in what we can play together online. It also makes it near (if not completely) impossible for her to do certain daily/weekly challenges (which is something she loves to do). Also, my old Xbox 360 model is just about dead, and I would love a newer model, but this would prevent me from being able to search, create, and share custom content (or at least make it very difficult), and this is my favorite feature in Reach. It isn’t fair that certain players do not get all of the features that they paid for.
>
> I ask you to please fix this problem. It should have been fixed by Bungie back when this problem originally sprung up, so please don’t make the same mistake as them. Fix this problem so everyone can play what they paid for.
Halo CE Anniversary
-
Campaign scoring/medals - One of the things i’ve loved about the newer games is the addition of the multiplayer kill medals. I feel that somehow it makes campaign that much nicer to play through.
-
Optional/Updated Tweaks - I know a lot people want everything to be exactly the same, but i’d very much like to see the option of being able to play old settings, but having options to play an updated “improved” game also:
-Weapons: For instance Assault Rifle, while sometimes useable just felt so unreliable and underpowered somehow in Campaign. I’d very much like to see what an improved AR would have been like to use. Also I think it’d be pretty cool to there was also an option to use some of the weapons that were otherwise unusable in previous games (e.g. Energy Sword).
-Flood: I like how in Halo 3 the flood would crumble when shot at and how Melee attacks were actually useful. Aside from the damn annoying Pure Forms in the game, it felt a lot better to mow down combat forms in that game.
Halo Reach
- New Forge World Map(s) - Halo 3 had maps like Foundry and Sandbox to play with. Although really I wouldn’t expect anything as big as Forge World itself, i’d like for some newer canvas maps. I wouldn’t really count Tempest since there’s too many natural fixed objects in the way. This is easily one of my biggest disappointments with Reach so far. Forge World is ok, but i’m sure we’d all like to see some different environments containing different materials than the same grey blocks.
Another probably less feasable idea (in relation to what i just said) would be to have the ability to select alternate textures for the current objects in Forgeworld.
- Best Of Maps DLC - What I mean here is having the most popular multiplayer maps from some the games released for Reach Multiplayer. Even if just a few of the very best. Afterall, not all of them can be made “properly” in Forge and some of the ones that can suffer from slowdowns. I’d love to be able to play a solid map like Guardian again.
It would be cool if we got some more Maps for reach like actual maps, not forge maps, maybe some remakes? and PLEASE DONT make so many changes to Halo 4 that it doesnt even feel like Halo… im sure alot of people would agree with me that we want Halo to stay HALO.
